Abyss Domination – Chapter 673

Chapter 34: New Continent! Second Update

2015-09-13

Author: Floating Tower

Everything in front of him was so desolate.

The Old Sea Dog dragged his weary body forward, feeling like his mouth was about to crack and bleed. Ahead, he could only see a few sparse weeds, and he did not know why, but these weeds were black, looking chilling to behold. The environment here was worse than that of the Overseas Islands. After a round of searching, the Old Sea Dog not only did not find food but also wasted a lot of energy, which led him to sit down in frustration, cursing, “What the hell is this place! How can there be nothing to eat!”

No food.

No fresh water.

The Old Sea Dog felt his stamina plummeting, and if this continued, he might just d*e here.

No way.

He had to save himself.

The Old Sea Dog gritted his teeth and got up again, continuing to walk along the desolate beach, muttering, “No! I can’t d*e here! I worked so hard to climb to the position of boss, how can I d*e here without a reason!”

The will to survive drove him to keep moving.

But everything in front of him remained immensely desolate, as if this land had been cursed.

Creeeeeak.

A strange sound came from a patch of grass ahead. The Old Sea Dog’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he drew his dagger and rushed over. He quickly dug through the grass and soon found a rat’s nest inside. There was a gray-furred rat with sharp teeth, which bit him on the arm. Ignoring the bl**d pouring from his arm, he grabbed it and stabbed it to d*ath with his dagger and then greedily drank the rat’s bl**d, swallowing it along with its skin and bones.

His stamina finally began to recover.

At this point, the Old Sea Dog had a bit of strength to continue exploring. He walked for over half a day, and when the sun became more scorching, he finally saw something in his line of sight.

A colossal statue!

It might be over a hundred meters tall, and it was now only half of a broken body. Ahead was a river, and to the left, there was another huge statue, but now it was only a pair of severed legs.

“Where on earth is this?”

The Old Sea Dog’s expression became somewhat panicked. With his experiences, he certainly had heard of such iconic structures, but he had never heard of anything like this, which meant he had arrived in an entirely unfamiliar land.

The river flowed between the two statues.

The Old Sea Dog rushed to the riverbank to drink a few mouthfuls of water. Only then did he carefully observe the surroundings. He saw a weathered stone tablet, the writing on which was already quite unclear, but he could still judge based on his knowledge of antiques that it had existed for a long time.

“Not the Eastern Kingdom.”

The Old Sea Dog’s face turned pale as he muttered, “Where the hell have I been blown to by the wind and waves?”

He passed through the statues.

His view gradually opened up.

The land was barren, the red earth appearing as if it had been burned by fierce fire, with hardly any living creatures visible. In the distance stood a gigantic hill.

To gain a better vantage point, the Old Sea Dog ran wildly towards it.

However.

When he stood before the enormous hill, his expression froze.

Because he saw a person.

Or rather, the gigantic hill in front of him was a human shape. He saw buried arms in the sand and a massive petrified head. The size of this giant’s body was unimaginable; even the part showing above the surface resembled a hill.

Wooooo!

A strange wind began to blow, and in the distance, it felt like something terrifying was approaching, causing the Old Sea Dog to shiver involuntarily.

“This place is too sinister.”

The Old Sea Dog hesitated, unsure whether to continue forward or retreat back to the coastline.

This was an unfamiliar continent.

He could not determine its area. But it definitely wasn’t as vast as a continental shelf. He sensed he was in the east of the world because only the east had such bizarre places.

Faint cries began to sound.

The Old Sea Dog stood at the top of the hill since all sides were barren. He could see a small dark figure from far away.

“Is someone calling me?”

The Old Sea Dog looked towards the enormous statue, alert and excited, and saw a small boat, one of those lifeboats that could only hold a few people, usually hung on the larger ship.

“d*mn it!”

The Old Sea Dog let out a crazed shout of excitement and ran over, muttering to himself, “I thought those bastards were all dead. Didn’t expect a few of them still alive!”

A merchant ship fleet heading to the east.

In total, there were six ships; four cargo ships and two warships. Even in such great storms, it was unlikely that all of them had perished.

It seemed he was lucky; some of his men had been washed here by the waves.

“Boss!”

A fierce-looking pirate rushed over, elated, “It’s great that you’re not dead!”

Hearing this, the Old Sea Dog smacked him, scoffing, “Even if you d*e, I won’t d*e! Are there others? Just the three of you left? What about the supplies? Did anything from the ship wash up here?”

Several hundred people were on board across six ships.

The Old Sea Dog still held onto a glimmer of hope, wishing that even one of the ships was washed up here by the storm.

“More than ten are left.”

A nearby pirate underling spoke, “Two of them can’t be saved. We came over to check the situation. One ship is stranded over there on the beach, but the hull is severely damaged. Most of the brothers are dead.”

“But there are still some supplies.”

Feeling a bit better than he expected, the Old Sea Dog’s expression brightened considerably as he ordered, “Let’s head back first. This place is too eerie; who knows if there are any monsters here!”

The ships were still there.

Even if they were damaged, there might still be some supplies aboard.

With more surviving men by his side, the Old Sea Dog’s mind became more agile; if he could figure out the situation here, and if it truly was a desolate uninhabited land, it would still count as a discovery.

This Eastern trade was essentially ruined.

If he returned to the Southern Coast, he might even face punishment. If he can make a discovery here, perhaps Lord Soren would show some leniency.

After all, Lord Soren had great ambitions.

Though this place appeared barren, it might still hold some value. When he returned, he planned to organize a team to explore further, then proceed to make nautical maps, marking this location.

There were many unknown areas in the ocean.

Due to the dangers of sea monsters in deep-sea regions, some places had never been explored by pirates. Looking at the situation here, the Old Sea Dog intuitively believed it was an unclaimed new continent.

Perhaps a significant disaster had occurred in some era, leading to everything here being so desolate.

In the Eastern Sea.

If he could find a foothold in the Eastern Sea, he might even redeem himself and maintain his current position. After all, his men had long suspected that Lord Soren intended to extend his reach into the Eastern Sea.
