Author: Floating Tower
Overseas Islands, Modo City.
Traveling to the Bottomless Abyss is quite troublesome, but returning from the Bottomless Abyss is easy.
Soren secretly left a teleportation marker on the third layer of the Bottomless Abyss and then immediately teleported back to the laboratory in Modo City. However, as soon as he returned to Modo City, he received some not-so-good news. One of his fleets had encountered a terrible storm, with some ships sunk and others missing, leaving only one ship safely arriving in the Eastern Sea region.
It is inevitable to encounter storms while sailing on the sea, and experiencing some maritime disasters is quite normal.
However, Soren has a close relationship with the Ocean Goddess, and such a significant accident had never happened on the Southern Coast before. Now, having a fleet rendered useless in the turbulent waters and a pirate leader unaccounted for is quite troublesome for him. It is necessary to reallocate personnel to form a new fleet, as the profits from Eastern trade are astonishing. The missing pirate leader also needs someone to take over, resulting in a loss of hundreds of manpower, many of whom are elite trained personnel, which might also require troop transfers from Modo.
After all, the Eastern Sea is not Soren’s territory; the escort fleet is equipped according to military standards.
So many people have died.
The families also need to be comforted. Soren had already established a compensation system; many of the pirates are single, but sailors and merchants still need to be settled.
Fortunately, Modo City is quite wealthy; otherwise, compensating so many people would be very troublesome.
A day passed in the blink of an eye.
Soren learned about the Fallen Witch’s experiment. Personally, he did not oppose it as long as nothing went wrong.
During this period, he has accumulated a large amount of divine power!
The power of faith is fermenting, and the believers in Modo City pray regularly, providing an increasing amount of divine power to Soren.
This divine power can be stored for battles but can also be used to enhance his own abilities.
Without a doubt, Soren chose the latter.
After spending 10 points of divine power, a series of displays surfaced before him:
“Consumed 10 points of divine power!”
“Law Transformation!… You have mastered the divine power ability [Astral Teleportation]!…”
“Consumed 20 points of divine power!”
“Law Transformation!… You have mastered the divine power ability [Plane Teleportation]!…”
…………….
Two teleportation abilities.
The first is a basic ability that allows teleportation to the Astral Realm; the second is an advanced ability that enables teleportation to any plane, as long as Soren has an accurate spatial marker.
It is also fine without a spatial marker, but teleportation will be prone to errors, randomly landing in certain locations of that plane.
At this point, Soren truly possesses divine abilities; countless planes are opened to him. As long as he is not afraid of misplacing the teleportation, Soren can teleport freely to numerous planes.
The plane barriers can no longer block him; as long as he is not afraid of d*ath, he can even teleport to [Mount Heaven].
At this time, Soren’s accumulation of divinity is complete, and the true power belonging to deities has also opened its door to him.
“Change Space [Divine Power Ability]: Deities have the power to alter space. By consuming a certain amount of divine power, deities can twist the surrounding space, including enlarging, shrinking, destroying, and creating space. With the payment of a large amount of divine power, deities can also change the spatial laws of certain planes…”
[Consume 1,500,000 points of Killing Experience or 150 points of divine power to master.]
“Change Reality [Divine Power Ability]: Deities possess the ability to alter reality. By consuming a certain amount of divine power, deities can twist reality according to their wishes. This change can be temporary or permanent. However, it requires consuming a large amount of divine power.”
[Consume 1,500,000 points of Killing Experience or 150 points of divine power to master.]
“Immunity to Cold [Divine Power Immunity]: Deities can be immune to certain damage. Upon mastering this ability, the deity will be immune to any cold damage. No spell or other damage can affect the deity. This immunity includes any legendary spells; even other deities cannot harm you with cold attacks.”
[Consume 500,000 points of Killing Experience or 50 points of divine power to master.]
“Immunity to Fire [Divine Power Immunity]: Deities can be immune to certain damage. Upon mastering this ability, the deity will be immune to any fire damage. No spell or other damage can affect the deity. This immunity includes any legendary spells; even other deities cannot harm you with fire attacks.”
[Consume 500,000 points of Killing Experience or 50 points of divine power to master.]
“Immunity to Instant d*ath Effects [Divine Power Immunity]: Deities can be immune to certain effects. Upon mastering this ability, the deity will be immune to any instant d*ath effects; any effect that triggers an instant d*ath check cannot affect the deity. This immunity includes any legendary spells; even other deities cannot k*ll you with attacks that trigger instant d*ath checks.”
[Consume 500,000 points of Killing Experience or 50 points of divine power to master.]
…………….
Divine power.
This is why other deities focus on enhancing their divine power while gradually underestimating their own abilities.
The reason is simple.
The gap between the two types of abilities is too great. The power of deities can directly immunize against fire, cold, strong acids, instant d*ath effects, etc. If pursuing offensive capabilities, one can master abilities that change space, reality, and size, among others.
Professionists only possess the power of a profession.
But the power that deities possess is the power of laws; even the weakened power of laws from a minor deity is enough to crush the vast majority of professionists.
Soren places greater importance on damage immunity.
When unable to connect with the Divine Kingdom, changing space and reality has little effect, but immunity to cold and fire has a tremendous impact, rendering over sixty to seventy percent of energy-based spells completely ineffective against him.
If he also gains immunity to instant d*ath effects, then things like d*ath Touch, Disintegration, and Destruction Magic Sword would become irrelevant.
Any method relying on instant d*ath effects to k*ll enemies would be ineffective against him, utterly erasing the possibility of being killed by the luck of some enemies.
But unfortunately.
The accumulation speed of divine power is quite slow. Soren currently has only 36 points of divine power left.
If he sacrifices some of his Killing Experience, he could choose from immunity to fire damage and immunity to cold damage, but Soren does not plan to do so at the moment.
Because the Killing Experience he has accumulated has greater uses.
That is to directly elevate the Shadow class from level 8 to level 10 and thereby gain mastery over the [Shadows] domain!
