The domain power possessed by deities is not something mortals can easily withstand. This adjustment creates a total difference of 2 in exemption checks. The deity’s evil aura can cover targets from all factions, imposing a -2 exemption penalty on opposing good factions, a -1 on neutral factions, and granting itself a +2 boost to its exemption checks.
In other words, when the God of the Hunt, Mara, simultaneously opens two domain powers, the power gap between both sides expands significantly.
The God of the Hunt gains a +4 exemption check bonus, while others suffer a maximum -4 exemption check penalty.
This results in a total gap of 8 points in exemption checks.
The saint form of the deity does not grant the high exemption bonuses one might expect; some who gain divine qualifications too easily may have exemption checks that are not even as high as Soren’s.
However, with the activation of two domain powers, the vast majority of exemption checks cannot take effect against the God of the Hunt.
“This is bad!”
Soren realized what was about to happen and muttered, “Unless someone immediately casts the [Protection from Evil] spell, the battle will be overwhelmingly one-sided.”

The simplest first-level spell, yet this low-level spell can significantly turn the tide of their disadvantage in the current situation.

The group must reapply their buffs against evil and chaos to offset some of the negative states produced by the domain.
