Chapter 108: I Want to Go to Modo! (Part 1)
Author: Floating Tower (诸生浮屠)
Weapons are always a significant issue.
Just looking at the effort Soren put in to obtain an extraordinary weapon reveals how difficult it is to find suitable gear in this world. And that was in the Material Plane; it is even harder in the Bottomless Abyss, a barren and desolate place. Many demons wander in the vast wilderness, and when they see an enemy with a weapon, they rush to take it, using whatever they can get their hands on. The immense resources of the Bottomless Abyss have no opportunities for use.
Soren’s batch of weapons is primarily intended for attacking the Gurenba Arena.
After eliminating these goblins, the Demon Avatar will enter a period of farming, aimed at merging the power of this area, ultimately advancing to become a lower-level Demon Lord. After seizing the arena, Soren plans to reopen it, using the arena and prizes to attract powerful demons, ultimately claiming a seat in the third layer of the Bottomless Abyss, the Land of Forgotten. To become a Demon Lord, one must have a foundation, and Soren needs more enforcers and cannon fodder.
Only with a secured base can the arms trade of the planes provide a continuous income.
…………..
Modo City.
With the Demon Avatar sending a batch of gold, gems, and rare materials over, the funding for the two witches’ research has temporarily eased quite a bit. The accumulation of wealth is very slow; every year, new witches apply for funds from the Northern Witch Council to construct towers, but in fact, over the past twenty years, the entire Northern Witch Council has only managed to increase the construction progress of one tower, mainly because the funds consumed are simply too high. The tax revenue of an entire nation over several years is only enough to complete the foundational engineering of a tower.
After killing the God of the Hunt, Mara, Soren’s focus needs to shift to other places.
First and foremost is collecting the Divine Power of Faith; leveling up to weak Divine Power is currently the most important task, as it can enhance Soren’s mastery of divine power.
Due to the need to control his domain, Soren must also shift some energy towards politics.
The governing domain will increase the amount of Divine Power acquired through his policies, and as Soren’s rule becomes more ingrained in people’s hearts, this domain ability will have even more far-reaching effects.
Then.
Soren should once again enhance his abilities.
Due to some unknown rejection reasons, Soren is currently unable to master eighth-level spell slots, but as a total profession level 15 spellcaster, he has quite a few sixth and seventh-level spell slots.
He has two seventh-level slots, three sixth-level slots, one seventh-level slot from the Lich’s Ring, and one sixth-level slot.
In total, that gives him 3 seventh-level slots and 4 sixth-level slots.
Having finally found some free time, Soren naturally needs to further supplement the spells he knows. Currently, the spells he needs to learn include Bigby’s Guardian Hand, Bigby’s Grasping Hand, High-level Acceleration Spell, Fossil to Mud, High-level Dispel Magic, Shadow Black Tentacles (Advanced), Hardening Spell (increases material hardness), Intelligence Decrease Spell, Dead Cloud Spell, Anti-Gravity (special spell), Projection Technique, Soul Walk, Finger of d*ath, Limited Wish Spell (Grant Wish), High-level Teleportation Spell, and more.
As a deity, Soren cannot rely too heavily on his innate 20-level priest ability, as this casting ability consumes Divine Power.
Wizard spell slots can be re-memorized once used, saving a significant amount of Divine Power.
Currently, Soren focuses on researching the first two moves of Bigby’s Five-Fingered Hand, as well as High-level Dispel Magic (Break Magic). Shadow Black Tentacles (Advanced) and Hardening Spell are combo skills that have been recorded in books from the Chess Dimension.
Finally.
Regarding special spells, he needs to spend considerable effort to understand the Anti-Gravity spell; this spell is quite particular. It can distort the gravity of a material.
To this day, many wizards are delving deeper into this spell; compared to the simple Levitate spell, the Anti-Gravity spell is indeed very challenging to grasp. It is not that this spell is particularly difficult to memorize, but wizards find it hard to understand how to enchant this spell onto those incredibly massive objects. Making a chunk of iron float is easy. Making a stone float is also simple, but making an entire wizard’s tower float is quite a challenge. Making a city float is even more unimaginable for wizards.
There are still many enchanting problems surrounding this spell; it was the core secret of breakthroughs during the Arcane Empire period!
Soren also needs to memorize this spell.
If he truly intends to involve himself in the research of Floating Cities in the future, as a somewhat inexperienced wizard, Soren certainly must join the research process.
…………..
An extensive list of spell memorization.
In order to quickly master these spells, Soren must first increase his Divine Power to acquire the Divine Ability of Arcane Proficiency. Divine abilities all consume Divine Power, and the number of believers becomes crucial.
The faith in Modo City is nearing saturation.
The speed of recovering Divine Power is not particularly slow, but it does not meet Soren’s expectations.
If there is any method to restore Divine Power most simply, without a doubt, it is through the Divine Profession of War; as long as a battlefield is created, the Divine Power will surge rapidly. After entering the mid-stages of the Saint’s Cataclysm, many gods, driven by a strong sense of crisis, have resorted to all means to restore their Divine Power.
…………..
Leaffall City.
As autumn arrives, the leaves fill this increasingly dilapidated city.
The shadow of Amber City lingers on this city, where hope, vitality, and energy gradually fade away, leaving only a pale, lifeless void and despondence.
The Half-Orcs have still not been driven back.
The Ascendant, Eugene, is stronger than many imagine, yet the elven reinforcements the nobles of Leaffall City have hoped for have yet to arrive. Although Lord Earthwalker provided them with help, the Druid Order still cannot withstand significant casualties; their doctrine is to maintain the balance of nature and not get entangled in the wars between two races.
The Elven Queen has refused to deploy reinforcements, and the abnormal movements in the Spider Forest have led the Queen to focus all her attention on the Drow.
She fears that the followers of the Spider Queen may take action.
As autumn arrives.
War has destroyed agriculture; farmland is everywhere desolate, now overgrown with weeds.
The Half-Orcs have retreated to the opposite side of the river. It seems that the Ascendant, Eugene, having suffered setbacks at Soren’s hands, has given up on the idea of decisively breaking the Half-Elves, preparing to cultivate the other half of the seized land, and there are Half-Orcs learning human farming techniques on that land. They are planting winter wheat, and next year’s harvest will greatly stabilize the mindset of the Half-Orcs, making them even more determined in their war with the Half-Elves. Because the land near Leaffall City is indeed very fertile, far more so than their original homeland.
Maple leaves fall.
A group of people gathers in a long-unwashed basement; they are all Half-Elves, seemingly from various social strata, including officers, civilians, merchants, and nobles.
The most notable trait is that they are almost all professionists, likely possessing considerable strength, up to the level of local leaders.
“This cannot go on.”
A resolute-faced man looked at the others in attendance; he was a ranger with firm beliefs, glancing around the basement before speaking seriously: “The resource allocation in Leaffall City is becoming increasingly difficult. Due to unrest in various regions, the price of grain is rising, and human merchants are increasingly unwilling to transport food here.”
“Those vampires in the Noble Council have no intention of aiding the civilians; if winter arrives—”
“It is likely that…”
In such an era, winter often means termination and d*ath.
“Ryan.”
An elderly merchant stood up and slowly said, “Did you summon us this time because you have a plan?”
War has compelled many discerning people of Leaffall City to step forward; they have secretly united to strive to maintain the order of the city. This world has never lacked people of steadfast conviction; if they possess power, their personalities can shine. Maintaining their influence under the oppression of the Noble Council is impossible without strength.
The resolute-faced man looked at the others present and slowly revealed his plan.
His plan was summed up in just one sentence.
“I want to go to Modo.”
