Chapter 140: The Eyes and Ears of the God of Death
A night passed quickly.
Gaining Ildis’s trust was not easy, but at least Soren managed to have him accept himself quickly, forming a temporary cooperative relationship similar to an adventurers’ alliance.

She wore a loose mage robe, and her face was also covered with a veil.
It was impossible to see what she looked like, but one could notice her unusual, seemingly magical eyes. After appearing, this mysterious witch first directed her gaze at Ildis. She smiled slightly and nodded gently before shifting her gaze towards Soren beside him. Upon seeing Soren, her expression suddenly showed a hint of surprise and tension, even appearing ready for battle. It was only after Soren placed his hand on his chest and slightly bowed to her that she relaxed a bit.
“Ildis.”
The witch’s voice was very soft as she slowly said, “May I ask who this distinguished guest is?”

Ildis was taken aback upon hearing this, as the witch was using a respectful term. However, he did not think much of it at that moment; a title could mean nothing, and he introduced, “This is Mage Sony. I happened to run into him here yesterday.”

She recognized Soren’s identity.
