A small, inconspicuous speck of dust.
But it is the beginning of the entire semi-plane. As Soren extracts more energy from the earth elemental plane, a rocky structure gradually appears beneath their feet. The process of this land shaping is not slow; although it occurs within a very small space, it has a kind of grandeur and shock that resembles the creation of a world. Deities create their realms entirely from the energy drawn from elemental planes because no deity, not even one with strong divine power, can gather such immense power by themselves.
This is an application of energy in the multiverse.
Gods who command the power of laws can easily manipulate all of this, but if a legendary wizard were to do it, the time and effort required would increase exponentially.
Matter and energy.
It’s hard to explain clearly in just a few words, but simply put, all planes rely on the four elemental planes as a foundation.
The semi-plane will grow.
The current semi-planes in the multiverse have been gradually expanding over long periods by extracting energy from the four elemental planes, reaching the scale they have today. The energy from the four elemental planes is virtually inexhaustible, and the secrets contained within it hold the deepest mysteries of the multiverse; even the highest deities cannot fully grasp their rules.
Rock.
Soren did not cover the entire semi-plane with land; he merely covered a portion of it.
The semi-plane needs to establish a balance.
—”Connect to the fire elemental plane.”
The power representing flames within the element pool began to rapidly expand, quickly replacing the connection channel to the earth elemental plane. Beneath the thick layers of rock, the energy of the fire element became increasingly dense. When it reached a certain critical point, magma began to appear beneath the surface. The temperature of the semi-plane started to rise rapidly, creeping up from extremely cold below zero to about ten degrees. The energy from the fire elemental plane was not yet able to fully take shape. After all, the semi-plane is not a complete planar space; only by relying on the element pool to continuously extract energy can the magma stabilize within the semi-plane. If the channel to the fire element were cut off, the magma would cool rapidly.
There are many considerations when creating a semi-plane.
If the energy of the earth elemental plane is too heavy, the gravity of the semi-plane will greatly increase. This is why there are many spaces in the multiverse that experience significantly severe gravitational effects.
In one layer of the Bottomless Abyss, gravity even reaches over ten times that of the material plane!
This is due to a deviation that occurred during the formation of this plane, indicating that the energy of the earth elemental plane has completely suppressed other planes.
“Gravity is about right.”
“Temperature is also about right.”
Soren sensed the changes in the entire semi-plane, then nodded towards Gloria beside him and began to connect to the wind elemental plane.
Air.
The power of the wind.
The thin air inside the semi-plane gradually filled up with the elemental channel, and the power of the wind elemental plane is critical for the semi-plane’s viability, determining whether other life forms can survive within it, depending on the creator’s understanding of wind elemental domains.
This is truly a task of academic prowess!
Throughout history, there have been many legendary wizards capable of creating semi-planes, but very few have been able to transform a semi-plane into a living space suitable for other species.
Because this considers the creator’s understanding of the world itself!
Even gods are the same; some gods have beautiful realms, while others have desolate ones.
The knowledge of deities is also limited.
Although some gods attempt to mimic the construction of the material plane to create divine kingdoms, due to their own powers and the differences in strength, the resulting divine kingdom often turns out to be quite different. Transforming a divine kingdom is an incredibly grand project. Over long ages, most gods spend their time collecting faith or pondering how to build their divine kingdoms.
Or rather, the ideal kingdoms that gods aspire to!
—”Connect to the water elemental plane.”
A thin mist of water appeared in this small semi-plane. Guided by Soren’s divine power, a pool of water gradually formed on the uneven ground.
Earth, water, fire, air.
The connections between the semi-plane and the four elemental planes have taken shape. With the continuous operation of the element pool, energy from the four elemental planes will gradually flow into this semi-plane.
This process is quite slow.
The land will grow at an imperceptible speed; perhaps after a year, the area of land here will expand by one or two meters, and the other three elements will increase accordingly. The expansion of the semi-plane requires the creator to exert effort. By enhancing the scale of the element pool, guiding their own power, or even directly transferring things from other planes, this small space can continuously grow and change.
When the power of the four elements reaches a critical point.
The creator must consider how to plan this space, including how to artificially modify it—where the water flow should start, the size of lakes and oceans, how the soil’s nutrients can support plant growth, whether seasonal winds and weather changes are necessary, and what the temperature difference between the northern and southern parts of the semi-plane should be, etc.
Most creators just let it change naturally, only guiding it when necessary.
Thus, some spaces have very high gravity, some have very low temperatures, some are filled with sandstorms, and some have simply turned into seas of fire.
Soren had been to a semi-plane that was entirely a sea of fire, with lava flowing everywhere on the ground.
“Next, it all depends on how you plan to transform this place.”
Soren withdrew his divine power; he had only helped Gloria open the connections to the four elemental planes and laid a solid foundation for this semi-plane. How she plans to build this place depends on her own ideas.
“There should be more signs of life.”
Gloria’s figure floated in mid-air. As the creator of this semi-plane space, she wielded her own power of law, a command over the entire space.
This semi-plane is her stage.
The element pool slowly rotated, like a whirlpool continually drawing energy from the four elemental planes, with the parts representing earth and water clearly surpassing those for wind and fire. Gloria seemed to have her understanding of the world’s structure.
“If it continues like this.”
“This semi-plane’s water will become more abundant, and the area of land will gradually increase.”
At this moment, Soren did not speak. The power of a single element is one-sided, just as earth and fire can create magma, and the collision of cold and hot forms seasonal winds. The powers of any space do not exist in isolation; the four elemental planes also contain other elements, only they have their own fields, and in corresponding elemental planes, the energy of the primary element completely overwhelms the others. Mortals entering the earth elemental plane are unable to move because of the overwhelming gravity; those entering the fire elemental plane risk being quickly turned to ash; finding land in the wind elemental plane is nearly impossible; and surviving in the water elemental plane means one must rely on swimming.
The material plane is a flat surface.
Long ago, Soren had already discovered this: the material plane is an immense, flat expanse.
Not a planet.
From the perspective of the gods, everything in the material plane is entirely different from the previous existence, including the enormous connection channel linking the four elemental planes at the very bottom of the material plane.
Since his investiture, Soren had been guessing who exactly created the material plane!
This is an incredible world.
