Chapter 19: The Witch Delegation

Author: Floating Tower
The flying Requiem.
Now that the ghost ship has been initially modified, Soren naturally needs to test its capabilities.
In his future plans, the Requiem has a rather important mission. The places in the Material Plane that can utilize the Requiem are becoming scarce, but in other planes, especially in the Bottomless Abyss, there are many places that require the Requiem. This is because the Bottomless Abyss has vast water areas, some of which even cover several layers, such as the territory of Demon Lord Dagon and the Blood Sea ruled by the Goddess of Misfortune.
Of course!
The most important point is that the ghost ship—Requiem is a type of undead construct life.
It can sail on the River of Underworld!
Just being able to navigate on the River of Underworld is already worth Soren spending a lot of time and energy on its modification. In the lower planes, there is an unavoidable thing called the River of Underworld. Since the ancient era, when the first generation of Ancient Gods and chaotic demons clashed, up until the birth of Lord of Hell Asmothiels, the presence of the River of Underworld has already spread across the lower planes. From the Hell of Scorching Flames to the Realm of Asura, from the Gray Wastes to the Twisted Void, from the Bottomless Abyss to the Hell of Bartok, the tributaries of the River of Underworld are distributed throughout all the lower planes, and even traces of the River of Underworld can occasionally be seen in the upper planes.
It has long grown into a significant part of the multiverse, and today no one can ignore the existence of the River of Underworld.
“Ascend!”
Soren’s figure landed on the hull of the Requiem. As the energy of the levitation ring was activated, the ghost ship gradually rose until it reached nearly three thousand meters high. The higher it ascended, the greater the influence of wind direction became. Soren understood why the Fallen Witch said that this ship needed a power source. After all, a ghost ship still could not compare to a floating tower or a floating city. There is a huge gap in quantity, and the floating tower can accommodate far more than the ghost ship; moreover, the floating tower itself is essentially a defensive fortress at the time of its creation.
At this moment, the attributes of the ghost ship—Requiem have changed as follows.
“Creature Name: Legendary Ghost Ship—[Flying Requiem], [Mutated Undead Construct Life], [Legendary Undead Construct Life]
Creature Type: [Activated Ghost Ship]
Creature Description: This is a battleship that wrecked and sank hundreds of years ago. It awakened during its long time on the seabed, and the dead souls and vengeful spirits gradually assimilated with it. It turned it into a ghost ship that roams the seas. Many legends revolve around it, eventually attracting the attention of the Ocean Goddess’s followers, who captured these ghost ships through the efforts of a Legendary Priest, and under the divine power of the Ocean Goddess, secretly activated these ghost ships into low-level undead life forms. It possesses simple consciousness and can regenerate like the undead. This ghost ship can sail in any sea, and its power is fearsome in the oceans! (Note: Slaughter and death have caused it to evolve. The transformation by the Legendary Witch grants it the ability to fly.)
Captain: Soren.
Crew: Undrowned Undead (108), Ocean Vengeful Spirits (36), Ocean Ghosts (270), Naga Witches (36), Sharkman Undead (27). Requiem Binding Spirits (2705) [Locked].
Equipment: Mourning Wail (Ram), Requiem Cannons (24), Ghost Sails (Mutated, Enchanted, Modified), Spinning Heavy Cannons (2).
Basic Skills: Flight, Wind Control, Summon Fog, Ghost Ship Traits, Self-Repair, Deep Sea Navigation. Animate Life, Animate Ropes. Cursed Hull, Requiem Traits.
Special Ability: [Soul Devourer] Trait.”
………………
The Requiem has grown stronger from slaughter.
The life form of this ghost ship is quite unique; even after evolving to the Legendary Domain, its inherent capability enhancement remains relatively limited. To some extent, it is merely a collection of undead. Evolving to legend strengthens the undead bound to it, with its inherent form undergoing little change, only slightly enhancing certain capacities of the ship’s body.
The souls bound to the Requiem have already doubled compared to the past.
The number of undrowned undead has reached an astonishing 108, and the number of ocean vengeful spirits has surged, with various other undead increasing by more than a factor of two or even tripling in numbers. These are the real changes that have occurred with the ghost ship—Requiem. Among them, the number of Requiem Binding Spirits has reached an incredible 2705, which determines the ghost ship’s vitality, repair ability, and the potential to replenish other undead crew members.
It can be said that the Requiem has now transformed into a small undead kingdom.
………………
“Relying solely on the sails is not enough; further enchantment is indeed required.”
Soren piloted the Requiem in the sky for a while and then returned to the sea, muttering: “Just this capability is insufficient for combating in the Bottomless Abyss.”
“The flying ability is sufficient; the levitation ring only needs a slight push to ascend to a height of over a thousand meters.”
“However, the mobility is severely lacking.”
“I wonder how the floating cities of the Arcane Empire were powered?”
“Next is combat capability; although the number of undead sailors has surged, they are merely melee cannon fodder. The Mourning Wail’s ram can be ignored, and the animate ropes can basically be disregarded; the only effective ranged firepower comes from the Requiem cannons and the spinning heavy cannons. This sort of firepower may be adequate against enemies in the Material Plane, but it won’t work against the demons in the Bottomless Abyss.”
“The Ocean Temple was limited to combat in the Material Plane when it initially modified it.”
“It looks like I need to replace all the cannons?”
“I don’t know if I can install the Arcane Crystal Superconducting Pulse Cannon on the Requiem? If it can be installed, how should the enormous energy requirements be resolved?”
Numerous thoughts flashed through Soren’s mind.
But in the end, he shook his head and put those thoughts aside. Things still need to be done step by step. To acquire the Arcane Crystal Superconducting Pulse Cannon, I’m afraid he first needs to seize the Wizard Tower in the Shadow Plane. To seize the Wizard Tower in the Shadow Plane, Gloria needs to master the Nine-ring Spell ‘Spirit Journey,’ and she is currently busy researching the Elemental Furnace, wishing she could split herself into two. At this time, I can only prioritize matters based on urgency.
From the current perspective, reassembling the Elemental Furnace is the most important and beneficial task for them.
As long as the Elemental Furnace is completed, abundant energy will immediately enable Modo City to establish a Golem Legion, and at that time, relying on a sufficient number of Diamond Golems, they should be able to push down the Wizard Tower in the Shadow Plane.
………………
Modo City is busy.
The third expansion plan also includes the Port Area. As the influx of outsiders increases, Modo Harbor’s capacity has become somewhat insufficient. Recently, the City Hall has prepared to carve out a piece of land as a residential area, allowing citizens of Modo Harbor to purchase a small piece of land at a relatively low price with their identification documents, but for outsiders wishing to buy a residence in Modo Harbor, it becomes a bit expensive. It is said that many southern merchants have protested against this, but the officials in the City Hall have hardly considered their thoughts.
“Buy if you want; if not, get out.”
The land budget of Modo City is already tight, and the population growth rate far exceeds that of other cities.
This batch of land has been reckoned as overdrawing reserve resources. According to the final statistics of the City Hall, if they do not annex and develop nearby islands, Modo City will ultimately have a population limit of only about 300,000.
Once this scale is exceeded, food will no longer be self-sufficient.
Currently, citizenship in Modo City is quite sought after, providing significant convenience at sea. Moreover, activities in other cities on the Southern Coast are seldom impeded.
Strong military power is the guarantee of peace!
The war among the Golems has completely ended, but Soren’s journey has not yet stopped.
Taking advantage of history not having deviated too much, he needs to use his foresight to prepare more trump cards for himself. However, before setting off this time, he still has a few minor matters to handle.
Dreamstone.
This thing has been essentially useless to Soren. Useless to Gloria, useless to the Fallen Witch. Vivienne can’t use it either.
As a somewhat unique legendary item, it seems that only in one place can it be utilized, which is the Chess Half-Plane connected to the Wizard Tower in the Shadow Plane.
The wonderful virtual illusion of the Chess Half-Plane.
A very realistic illusion that Soren currently cannot comprehend, as he has made considerable breakthroughs concerning the Wizard Tower. He temporarily does not have time to waste on the Chess Half-Plane.
The demigod Tower Spirit is difficult to handle, and breaking through the Chess Half-Plane takes too much time.
Soren plans to seize the Wizard Tower and directly take over the authority of the Chess Half-Plane; however, now he needs to test whether the Dreamstone is effective against the illusions of the Chess Half-Plane.
………………
The Frozen Kingdom. Arendelle. Royal Palace.
The tall figure of the Princess stood on the balcony at the top of the palace, overlooking the entire kingdom. The arrival of the Saint’s Cataclysm did not have a significant impact on this prosperous and wealthy land. This is all due to the Princess’s powerful strength; her power protects Arendelle, making all evil forces dare not easily encroach upon this land.
Arendelle.
Modo City.
These two cities in the north and south are among the few peaceful havens in the Material Plane. They have maintained their status even after the outbreak of the Saint’s Cataclysm, largely because their rulers possess strong military power.
Princess.
Soren.
Amidst many factions speculating that the two have secretly formed an alliance, no one dares to easily provoke them.
“Your Majesty the Queen!”
“The delegation from the Northern Witch Council has arrived.”
The maid of the palace appeared not far away, respectfully stating, “I have arranged for them to settle down. I wonder when Your Majesty plans to meet with them?”
The Princess nodded upon hearing this and calmly said, “I understand. Arrange for tomorrow.”
History is quietly changing.
Because of Soren, the Northern Witch Council has officially established diplomatic relations with Arendelle. The two sides originally had little connection, but now the Northern Witch Council and the Ice Witches of Arendelle seem to have plans to deepen their relationship due to the crisis of the Saint’s Cataclysm.
The two most powerful witch factions in the Material Plane are attempting to cooperate!
