Chapter 28: The Guidance of the Divine Beings!
The Puppet Girl looked at Soren for a while.
At that moment, she remembered that she still had the task given by her master that needed to be completed, so she immediately flew towards the back of the room. It was unclear if she was still groggy or too distracted, but she actually bumped into the door frame, leaving a small human-shaped dent, and then stumbled into the bookshelf. After about a minute or two, she came out wobbling while holding a rolled parchment map, and carefully placed it in front of Soren.
The parchment map had spell marks on it, but Soren raised his hand and wiped them away.
“Thank you.”
Soren nodded slightly in thanks and then opened the parchment map in front of him; he still needed to discern its authenticity.
“You’re welcome.”
The Puppet Girl flew around Soren twice and then landed directly on his shoulder. Soren turned his head in surprise to look at her, only to see her contentedly taking a deep breath, then resting her head on Soren’s shoulder in a sleepy posture, murmuring, “So comfortable. I really want to take a nap on you.”
Divine Sensation.
The divinity within the girl seemed to relate to the divinity that Soren possessed; in her relatively weak state where she couldn’t completely integrate with divine energy, the divine power from Soren influenced her.
“Death?”
“Or Killing?”
Soren slightly opened his divine perception ability and immediately sensed a faint similar divine power. It should not belong to the Killing Domain, but it definitely had some connection to the divinity of Death.
The position was at the Puppet Girl’s chest, where the divinity was integrated into the materials that made her.

Soren unfolded the parchment map and took a look. This high-level map was directly inscribed with magic; not only did it mark all the towns in the Eastern Kingdom, but it also labeled the locations of various underground ruins in the large blank areas, including potential dangerous creatures and ancient evil artifacts that might be sealed within. This was the map that Soren truly needed. This type of map was even more detailed than the one he retrieved from the Holy Avenger.
The map marked over a hundred locations of underground ruins.
Some places even noted the degree of danger; all of this information was collected at the cost of lives, while normal adventurers’ maps would hardly mark anything at all.
“No problem.”
Soren put away the map in his hand. Just now, he had glanced over it and immediately found several places of interest.
One was the temple discovered by the Demon Avatar.
The marking there was [God of Death’s Ruins], recorded in small letters as the temple of a fallen God of Death. It seemed to have been occupied by a Lich.
The second was a magical energy ruin.
During the destruction of the Arcane Empire, a floating city fell to the ground but hadn’t yet exploded, remaining relatively intact. Unfortunately, it had been overrun by many magical sunflowers, and no one had been able to penetrate to the core area.
The last one was the ruins of the Imaskari Empire.
This was older than the Arcane Empire— the doomed Imaskari opened a gate to another world, passing through the veil of the Multiverse and attracting deities from other realms. This ultimately led to the destruction of the entire empire. During this time, an invasion of Orcs took place, leading to the outbreak of the Orc War, with the gods waging a battle that rivaled the Saint’s Cataclysm. The impact of this battle has not yet dissipated; some deities worshiped in the desert regions are those whose faith was spread when they remained in the Material Plane during that time.
Apart from this, there were not many ruins worth exploring that would be useful to Soren.
A few remnants left behind by the Heartstealers were also marked. Although Soren knew there were plenty of good things inside, he had no plans to explore them for now.
Because the ruins directly delved into the Underdark and were occupied by eleven Heartstealer elders.
Below this ruin lay an artifact-level mental control crystal and a special blood pool, which remained until after the Saint’s Cataclysm ended. This was only brought out by a team of high-level legends.
Having this map made it possible to find almost all the ruins that had been discovered in the Eastern Kingdom.
Soren put away the parchment map. When he turned to look, he saw the Puppet Girl named Chris had already fallen asleep on his shoulder.
This was a side effect of divine fusion.
Vivian had once fallen into a long slumber due to her inability to completely merge with divine energy.
Now this Puppet Girl was just like Vivian back then, but her spirit was even weaker than Vivian’s, as the strength of the artificial construct life’s soul was insufficient. It would take who knows how long to digest this divine value.
Alice had been observing Soren.
Especially when she saw her most unique Puppet Girl, Chris, sleeping on Soren’s shoulder; a look of surprise appeared on her face. Chris was the most willful, intelligent, and distinct character puppet she had made; she hardly ever got close to outsiders. Her attitude towards ordinary people could even be considered a bit arrogant, sometimes even saying things like “stupid mortals.” Yet now she was nuzzled against Soren’s shoulder, which was quite unbelievable!
“Uh?”
Soren looked at the sleeping Puppet Girl on his shoulder, feeling a bit awkward—since the transaction had already been completed, he wasn’t sure whether to stay or go.
“Chris.”
As the master of the Puppet Girl, Alice held absolute control over her, lightly raising her eyebrows and saying, “The guest is leaving now. Get down and go back to sleep.”
She could naturally see that Soren was extraordinary; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so polite.
“Mhm!…”
The Puppet Girl lazily climbed up, seemingly a bit reluctant, swaying as she stood up, and then whispered in Soren’s ear, “Chris really likes you!… Staying on you is so comfortable!…”
“When will you come again?”
Divinity is a realm unknown to mortals.
Perhaps even the legendary puppeteer girl before him did not realize the changes happening to the puppet she had created.

When the transformation was complete, this Puppet Girl would become a true life form with a complete soul and advance to become a Divine Being.
Unfortunately, it seemed even her master was unaware of this.
“Next time?”
“It shouldn’t be too long!”
Soren pondered for a moment, his mind flashing back to the divine construct lives he had encountered within the [Mechanical Mirror of the Clockwork Nirvana], which were of very unique life forms. He gazed at the tiny Chris, who was dressed in a blue-and-white maid outfit, smiled, and said, “You look a bit uncomfortable.”
“Come. Let me help you a bit.”
Saying so, a bit of golden radiance appeared at Soren’s fingertip, and he gently placed it on the Puppet Girl’s forehead.
