Chapter 51: Summon the Treant!
At this moment, everyone’s mood was complicated.
Yenogu’s avatar originally intended to turn the tide and eliminate Soren using the demon lord’s unique ability to summon the Abyss Legion, but unexpectedly, the enemy also began summoning reinforcements. The gigantic elemental lifeforms that appeared in the material world through the Elemental Gate were somewhat manageable, but what was that Balroth Fire Demon that popped up shouting, “Let the flames purify everything,” with a hint of demon lord aura?
The Balroth Fire Demon was nearly on par with a demigod! (Challenge Level 22+)
Such an abyss demon lord might not even command a few, so how could the enemy summon one so easily, apparently without significant cost?
Rumbling!
The moment the fire demon manifested, it materialized as a fireball the size of a basin, and immediately, the surrounding temperature soared. This Balroth Fire Demon, which seemed to carry some demon lord aura, charged directly into the location where the Abyss Legion was descending, swinging its massive executioner’s sword in a whirlwind slash. Yenogu’s demonic subordinates had no chance to react; they stepped out of the portal and fell straight into a sea of fire, followed by the tremendous executioner’s sword whistling through the air. The power of the demon avatar surpassed even Soren’s true form, and the summoned giant ghouls were sliced in two.
Yenogu’s avatar was overwhelmed by a strong sense of crisis.
On the other side.
The others were also feeling quite complex; the moment the legendary monk fell, they realized how powerful the enemy was, far beyond their imagination, and many already felt they might d*e here. But then, a mysterious wanderer suddenly appeared. After a brief exchange, the enemy began summoning the Abyss Legion, and the wanderer started summoning even more than the spellcaster, not only summoning the Balroth Fire Demon but also a whole host of elemental lifeforms.
The situation was rapidly turning into a demon war!
Chan’s feelings were probably the most complex.
As a human who had signed a soul contract with a demon avatar, the moment Soren descended into the material plane, she experienced a strong sensation. She had imagined countless scenarios of reuniting with Soren, but she never expected that the demon she had contracted with would be summoned by someone else in such a situation. Moreover, it seemed to be a summon that required no significant cost; when Soren summoned the demon avatar, there was no delay at all. Through the psychic link of the soul contract, Chan sensed a faint connection with Soren.
A slavery contract!?
This was the greatest possibility the girl could conceive.
Immediately, a hint of a bitter smile appeared on her lips. To her, the immensely powerful flame demon Soren should have cast a slavery contract on her, while Soren’s control over the demon avatar also resembled a slavery contract.
What kind of person could enslave a powerful Balroth Fire Demon?
Thinking of this, Chan’s eyes sparked with a glimmer; although she could not understand Yenogu’s abyss demon language, she guessed that Soren might be a deity.
If Soren is a true god!
She began to understand why some peculiar changes had happened to her recently.
The battle continued.
However, the situation for Yenogu’s avatar was becoming increasingly desperate. If not for its inherent toughness as a melee demon lord, Soren would have long since slain it.
Even when it summoned the Abyss Legion, it was merely a dying struggle.
The demon avatar—Soren’s recent power had greatly increased, as it was urgently fusing with the Power of Laws of the Bottomless Abyss, having gained a hint of a Virtual Deity granted by the Bottomless Abyss through his status as an Abyss Lord. This was special and significantly relevant to Soren’s future plans, and it was also due to this opportunity that the demon avatar had reached the threshold to advance to the Balroth Fire Demon. …………
“d*mn it!”
“The God of Half-Elves and Wanderers! I will have my revenge!”
Yenogu’s avatar was finally nearing a dying state under Soren’s assault; the avatar could not compare to the true form. Its true form possessed domains of chaos, demons, evil, and rage, but the avatar only inherited one domain: Rage. The summoned ghouls cast by the true form were seventh-ring spells. Summoning Tanar’ri demons was a ninth-ring spell, and summoning werewolves was a ninth-ring spell as well. Summoning the demon legion was a legendary spell, but the summoning spells the avatar could cast accounted for only one, and it was only at the ninth-ring spell level.
This led to the immense army of the demon lord losing all effectiveness.
When a true demon lord descends, it could summon an Abyss Legion within a day even without opening a portal to the Abyss!
Defeat had become inevitable!
Yenogu’s avatar now thought about how to retreat with the consciousness of its true form. Abandoning the current physical body to ensure a trace of the true body’s soul could return was the most important thing for it.
But!
Soren would never let the divinity value slip away.
—”Summon Greater Treant!”
Perhaps realizing that defeat was unavoidable, Yenogu’s avatar directed the demon it summoned from the Abyss Legion to madly charge at Soren, preparing to take advantage of the distraction to let its true form’s divine soul powers escape this body.
The flame demon—Soren could slaughter in all directions.
However, blocking a multitude of demons rushing to Soren to d*e was impossible; at most, it could entrap the strongest one, a soul judge, with its fiery whip, but the other demons had already charged toward Soren.
But.
At that moment, a jade green radiance emanated from Soren’s wrist, and then a graceful woman in a jade green gown appeared beside him. This woman looked like an elf, but her aura carried the power of nature; she was Kalyena, the treant leader of the Misty Forest.
—”Field of Plants!”
A field of power was activated, but it was not Soren who triggered it, but Kalyena, who stood beside him with a gentle smile.
This high-ranking treant leader seemed even more powerful than when they first met; she was also one of the ceremony’s hosts, likely reaping more benefits than the other treants. Now, Kalyena carried a hint of divine brilliance, and with a slight wave of her hand, the plants around her began to grow wildly; fragile green grass transformed into resilient vines, ignoring the flame of the demon avatar, trapping all enemies in place.
—”Natural Healing!”
A light filled with vitality manifested; under the jade green spell light, the treant leader waved her hand to heal the injuries of Soren and the others.
She had advanced!
It seemed she had grasped the abilities of a nature cleric and, as a treant, also served as both a druid and a cleric.
