The reinforcements from Modo City began silently clearing the battlefield. As the first group to encounter the demons, such a victory meant little to them. This was already the second Abyss Gate opened in the Spearwind Hills, a vast plain that spanned almost the area of a province. This size during the second wave of the Saint’s Cataclysm meant they could be subjected to more than one wave of demon attacks.
Soren had prepared extensively for the second impact.
The defenses of Modo City faced no problems, but the Spearwind Hills required more support. He not only sent armies but also sought assistance from the Holy Avenger who owed him a favor. The Northern Witch Council also provided help, as they had a massive Maze and should be the easiest to deal with the second wave, able to eliminate a group directly from the sky.
