If it weren’t for the Saint’s Cataclysm, Soren would have been rolling in wealth right now.
Unfortunately.
It is a year of turmoil; these incredibly valuable art collections are essentially worthless, and the difficulty of selling them is frighteningly high. They can probably only be kept as collectibles. However, Soren has always been a pragmatist. After reviewing the list of collectibles, he immediately waved his hand and ordered a charity auction. For the items that are so valuable that they can’t be sold, he planned to set up a museum exhibition to charge admission, allowing the residents of Modo to see these legendary treasures worth their weight in gold.
This way, they will have much to brag about when they go out to taverns in the future!
Since they are citizens of Modo, their boasting must be slightly more prestigious than others.
………………
Stealing is indeed a good way to get rich.
Unfortunately, Soren is unlikely to take the [Theft] divine profession as his core, as this profession draws too much hatred. The Lord of Shadows has such poor interpersonal relations that when his church was attacked by Soren, he had no allies to help him. The main reason is that this theft profession has garnered plenty of enmity over the long course of time. Soren’s divine profession can only grant his underlings access to the domain of theft, which will surely need to be separated later, just like the Half-Elf divine profession.
This time, most of the income will go to the treasury of Modo, but a portion of the rewards still needs to be given.
Now that a major enemy has been dealt with, Soren’s position has stabilized a lot.
At present, looking across the entire Material Plane, there are almost no enemies that pose a significant danger of conflicting with Soren’s divine profession. Although gaining the Shadows divine profession may attract the attention of the Lady of the Night, for now, it is unlikely that she would take any action against Soren. This representative of the Evil Faction still has too many enemies to deal with. Currently, the remaining threats to Soren are primarily racial deities, such as the God of Wanderers for Halflings, and other deities with similar domains. These can be temporarily set aside.
Soren’s focus has now shifted towards merging the Shadows divine profession.
At the same time, while the third wave of the Saint’s Cataclysm has not yet erupted, he is preparing to study how to utilize the Chess Dimension properly.
The Killing Experience gained from defeating the Lord of Shadows can also be used to enhance his Archmage level.
“Archmage’s profession level has been raised to 8.”
“Gained 37 (Intelligence 28 + (Intelligence 28 – 10) * 0.5) skill points, health has increased by 13 (Profession health 4 + (Constitution 28 – 10) * 0.5).”
“Gained one free attribute point.”
“Gained one specialty point.”
………………
The enhancement from killing a deity is astonishing.
Soren gained a significant amount of killing experience, which allowed him to raise his Archmage profession level to 8, earning one free attribute point and one specialty point.
There’s nothing to think about here.
The free attribute point was allocated to Intelligence, raising it to 29. Simultaneously, the specialty point was directly chosen for [Legendary Spell Penetration].
A legendary specialty that every spellcaster must master.
“Legendary Spell Penetration [Epic Specialty]: Any spell you cast can gain an additional 6 points of spell penetration value. When casting any spell, the triggered saving throw will also receive an additional +6 bonus. This specialty ability is effective for any spell, and control-type spells will make it harder for enemies to succeed on saving throws due to this ability. This effect automatically replaces the abilities of the Spell Penetration specialty.”
This legendary specialty effect is incredible.
A +6 penetration bonus is equivalent to the additional effects brought by 12 points of Intelligence. If we take [Death Ray] as an example, Soren’s current Intelligence is 29, with a caster level of 18, yielding a 9-point additional value from Intelligence. With a caster level of 18 points plus the effect of Legendary Spell Penetration, it means that the difficulty of saving throws for Soren’s current cast of Death Ray has exceeded 35. Essentially, against enemies of legendary strength or lower, Soren can achieve instant kills with a single cast of Death Ray.
The same effect can also apply to control spells, disintegration spells, and rending spells.
However, Soren rarely uses disintegration spells since these spells do not leave behind loot; enemies are directly disintegrated along with their equipment.
Looking at the situation now.
Due to the enhancement effects of Moderate Divinity and Moderate Divinity, combined with the ability of [Arcane Proficiency], Soren’s spellcasting ability has finally started to take shape. His spell strength is now equivalent to that of a pure Wizard of level 24 or higher.
“Archmage’s profession level has been raised to 9.”
“Gained 38 (Intelligence 29 + (Intelligence 28 – 10) * 0.5) skill points, health has increased by 13 (Profession health 4 + (Constitution 28 – 10) * 0.5).”
………………
“Archmage’s profession level has been raised to 10.”
“Gained 38 (Intelligence 29 + (Intelligence 28 – 10) * 0.5) skill points. Health has increased by 13 (Profession health 4 + (Constitution 28 – 10) * 0.5).”
“Promoted to Tier Seven!”
“Gained one free attribute point.”
“Gained one specialty point.”
………………
The killing experience from the Lord of Shadows was completely spent, directly raising the Archmage’s profession level to 10, while also boosting his Intelligence to an astounding 30 points.
There’s almost nothing to think about.
The specialty point gained from reaching Tier Seven was directly allocated to [Legendary Resilience].
There’s no choice.
Back then, Eugene pierced the heart of the Lord of Shadows. Yet he still managed to remain standing. The shock that brought to Soren was immense. With Legendary Resilience, Soren’s body has nearly no obvious weaknesses left.
“Legendary Resilience [Epic Specialty]: Your body has surpassed the limits of mortals. From now on, even if you are struck at the heart by an enemy, you will not die from it. Unless the enemy beheads you, all physical damage will only reduce your health. Legendary Resilience fundamentally alters your body, granting you immunity to most fatal effects. Additionally, while Legendary Resilience is triggered, the physical damage you receive is temporarily reduced by 40%!” [Note: Prerequisite Constitution of 25 points.]
This is the ability Eugene had back then.
Legendary Resilience grants melee types a terrifying survivability. Most fatal attacks become ineffective, and as long as Soren does not lose all his health, he can remain standing even if his heart is ripped out. For Soren, as a deity capable of casting divine techniques, as long as he doesn’t die on the spot, he can directly use ‘Greater Resurrection’ to recover.
In this sense, the difficulty of killing him has now increased by more than twice!
A tank-like Soren is taking shape.
Although he has yet to master the legendary abilities of [Perfect Physique] and [Epic Strength], with Soren’s current nearly 600 health points, his survivability in a direct confrontation already exceeds that of a pure Warrior of level 20 or higher.
Currently, Soren’s total level as a Wanderer is 20, and his total level as a spellcaster is also 20.
Both his spellcasting and melee capabilities have taken shape.
He is now finally approaching the standards of an ancient deity, possessing absolute crushing power against any enemy below legendary status.
In other words, currently, enemies below legendary status no longer pose any threat to Soren!
