Chapter Seventy-Seven: Demon Hunter!

Bottomless Abyss, Third Layer, Land of Forgotten.
The population of Gurenba Arena has increased significantly compared to the past. In addition to the army of Demon Lord Soren, there are also many evil spirits from other planes. In particular, the evil spirits from the Hell of Scorching Flames share a bloodline connection with the Balroth Fire Demon, which makes them somewhat identify with the Gurenba Arena ruled by the Flame Demon Lord. The intensity of the bl**d War has sharply declined, and evil spirits from the Outer Planes now seek to align themselves with the newly risen Demon Lords in the Bottomless Abyss for wealth and power.
Compared to the order of other planes, the Bottomless Abyss, dominated by chaotic forces, offers more opportunities.
The Furnace Tavern.
A group of beautiful succubus waitresses are busy in the tavern, while other demons eye them with envy; however, none dare to act rashly. This is because the succubus boss is the personal collection of the Demon Lord—Executioner—Soren. It’s possible that these succubus waitresses are part of his private collection as well, and they do not want to offend the ruler of this territory. So, these alluring succubus waitresses can only look on wistfully.
Drinking for demons doesn’t evoke much of a reaction; for them, it merely serves as a means of displaying status and enjoyment.
What they pursue is merely a slight stimulation from alcohol, and more often than not, the tavern serves as a venue for the mid to high-level demon socialization. Generally, low-level demons cannot be seen in any tavern within the Bottomless Abyss; those who can sit inside are at least mid-level demons or evil spirit mercenaries from other planes.
Bang.
The tavern door is forcefully pushed open, and a cold-faced demon walks in.
He looks different from other demons because, in appearance, he resembles a male succubus more, with features closer to those of a human. However, this strange being also has obvious demonic traits, such as demonic horns and unspread wings on his back. He possesses characteristic demon skin and a pair of hooves resembling those of cows. He is clearly a regular patron of the tavern, as a succubus waitress enthusiastically greets him, and the typically languid succubus boss also approaches.
Succubus Boss—Reynalise lazily sits in front of him, glances at him, and softly asks, “All taken care of?”
The demon nods, lifts his cup, and drains it. He replies in a deep voice, “All executed.”
“I’ll report to Lord Soren right now.”
The succubus boss nods and then lazily returns to the bar. Despite merely managing a tavern, the demons and evil spirits of Gurenba Arena know that this seemingly inconspicuous succubus boss is actually a favorite of Lord Soren and secretly controls a legion of succubi. In Gurenba Arena, there are two succubi that cannot be easily provoked; one is the succubus boss responsible for many affairs, and the other, although without much power, often accompanies Demon Lord Soren.
These two succubi are absolutely not to be easily provoked!
“Who is that guy?”
In the corner of the tavern, an Ygoroth sneaks a glance in that direction and asks his companion, who arrived in Gurenba Arena earlier than him, “He seems to have quite a status?”
His companion, a very ugly Rosé, turns to look and casually replies, “Him?”
“Don’t know the name. Don’t know the type.”
“The outside world refers to him as the Demon Hunter, a unique demon of Gurenba Arena! He is Lord Soren’s right-hand man, like the Assassination Demon—Ktor, responsible for handling some unsavory matters!”
“Skilled in stealth, tracking, and assassination.”
“In battle, he can activate a certain terrifying flame around his body, but it is not the same kind of flame as that of the Fire Demon!”
“Legends from the outside say he was created by Demon Lord Soren using the soul of a legendary professionist from the material plane. Perhaps he is some new breed of demon!”
Demons can be created.
Currently, most of the active main demons in the Bottomless Abyss are branches of the Tanar’ri Demon. These demons are largely created from various souls of races drawn from the material plane by the older Obsidian Demons.
For example, succubi are birthed from desire, Frenzied Combat Demons from anger, and Assassination Demons from cruelty, etc.
Most demon personalities stem from an emotion at the time of their ancient creation, and the shape a soul from another plane reincarnates into often depends on their most intense emotion in life.
“A newly created demon?”
The Ygoroth falls into deep thought and then says, “Does this mean that Lord Soren has the ability to create demons? Just like the former Demon Prince—Digomorgen?”
“Why is he called the Demon Hunter? Is it because his role is similar to that of the Demon Spider?”
The nearby Rosé companion nods and replies, “Pretty much.”
“This guy has been helping Soren deal with those demons who do not obey his commands since his birth, hunting down and executing the eyes and ears of Soren’s enemies. He is very skilled at tracking demons and utilizes cruel methods.”
The Demon Spider was originally a creation of the former Demon Prince—Digomorgen.
A cruel and fierce terrifying creature, it was created to assist the Demon Prince in ruling over many demons, which is why the outside world refers to that demon as the Demon Hunter. There are also many similar creations, such as the Beast of Prey Spider created by the Spider Queen, which is also something modified from a certain original spider.
In contrast, Soren’s creation seems a bit more normal; at least it looks somewhat human.
“The Demon Lord here can actually create new types of demons?”
“It seems his power is even greater than we imagined!”
The Ygoroth is lost in thought and then slowly says, “Perhaps we should add some leverage on him! Maybe he will become a notable Demon Lord in the Bottomless Abyss in the future!”
Soren is currently only a Lesser Demon Lord.
There are many such Lesser Demon Lords in the Bottomless Abyss; basically, every level of the Abyss has several Lesser Demon Lords.
Above the Lesser Demon Lords are the formal Demon Lords.
In general, a formal Demon Lord controls at least one layer of the Bottomless Abyss, and below a formal Demon Lord, there are usually numerous Lesser Demon Lords and Lesser Balroth Demons as subordinates.
The rules of the Bottomless Abyss are brutal!
Throughout its lengthy history, countless Lesser Demon Lords have appeared, but the number of formal Demon Lords is quite small. One of the main reasons is that there are too few Demon Lords capable of controlling an entire layer. Without unifying the entire Land of Forgotten or at least obtaining control over the third layer of the Bottomless Abyss, Soren isn’t qualified to be called a true Demon Lord.
