Chapter 19: Use Power Against Power!

Sherek is an outlier among the natives.
Throughout the entire history of the multiverse, no one has risen faster than him. Even the adventurers who were fortunate enough to achieve investiture during the Saint’s Cataclysm probably can’t compare to him. If we only consider the first half of Sherek’s biography, he is the quintessential protagonist with a halo, transforming from a mortal into one of the most powerful deities of that time. However, if we include the records of his reckless actions in the latter half, the entire story gives the illusion of a protagonist turning into a villain.
It can be said that Sherek ultimately forced the gods to join forces and seal him away simply because of his overwhelming ambition and penchant for self-destruction.
After all, he was once the one who gathered all the divine professions of the Three Death Deities, and even the main gods among the deities dared not underestimate him. For a long time, Sherek acted alone, only having temporary allies and no subordinate deities.
Soren fell into silence.
When dealing with Sherek, he does not have a high level of confidence, as every time he mentions Sherek, he feels as if this guy has a protagonist’s halo. To confront him, Soren feels like he would need to hug the lucky goddess’s long legs. No matter how unfortunate Sherek has become, that is still the effect of the protagonist’s halo. If it were another deity acting recklessly, it wouldn’t be as simple as being sealed; they would probably be dead for good.
A conspiracy that would be a death sentence for other gods ended up just with Sherek being sealed.
Moreover, he unexpectedly reemerged during a time of turmoil!
Dealing with Sherek is much more difficult than dealing with the Lord of Shadows. Although Sherek’s strength has greatly diminished at the moment, he still possesses divine professions related to [Murder], [Lies], [Deceit], and [Illusions].
His domains include [Chaos], [Destruction], [Slaughter], [Evil], [Illusions], and [Tricks].
That’s right!
Sherek also holds the domain of [Tricks], and nearly all of his abilities are combat-oriented.
Just as Soren was deep in thought, the God of Death – Ye Ge spoke up again, “Dealing with Sherek is not simple.”
“However, I can give you some help.”
“After all, this bit of power left with me is of little use! Since that’s the case, let it serve as the foundation for you to wield the divine profession of death!”
With that said.
The ancient God of Death – Ye Ge gently pointed at Soren, and a golden radiance manifested, followed by a strong aura of death surging into Soren’s body.
A string of data appeared:
“You have received a gift from the God of Death – Ye Ge!”
“You have obtained divine power of death!… You have gained partial information about the [Death] divine profession!…”.

This was the second informational prompt regarding divine professions of death.
The God of Death – Ye Ge directly bestowed part of his divine power of death onto Soren, pushing him one step closer to obtaining the divine profession of death.
“My divine professions are not suitable for you.”
After completing these actions, the God of Death Ye Ge said slowly, “So mastering the power of the divine profession of death still relies on you.”
Currently.
The God of Death Ye Ge retains only three death-related divine professions: [Fatalism], [Death Recorder], and [Guardian of the Tombs].
These three are considered inconsequential divine professions.
And these divine professions do not fit Soren at all; Ye Ge retains them merely for the convenience of recording death.
As an entity of great divinity, He has almost given up the majority of his divinity and divine power.
“Alright.”
After finishing everything, the God of Death Ye Ge waved his hand, saying, “You should return now. Don’t linger too long in the underworld; the gods during this time of turmoil are very weak, and merely in their saint forms are insufficient to withstand the erosion of the underworld.”
The underworld is a very special place.
Generally, even during non-Saint’s Cataclysm times, the gods do not like to enter the underworld.
Soren came back to his senses.
He slightly bowed to Ye Ge in thanks, then turned and walked outside. Regardless of everything, Ye Ge had helped him get one step closer to obtaining the divine profession of death. This ancient God of Death had been searching for a suitable agent. The previous generation of the Three Death Deities were the first batch of agents He chose, while the current King of the Dead – Klanvor, is the second batch of agents He selected. This existence is beyond any deity in the realm of death; even Soren does not know what He truly desires.

After leaving the River of Underworld, Soren directly teleported back to Modo.
There was no reason to linger in the underworld, and the King of the Dead – Klanvor may not be very friendly towards Soren. After all, his relationship with the Goddess of Magic is rather complicated, and there is also a competitive aspect between them.
Upon returning to Modo, Soren saw Vivian nervously standing beside him, while in front of him was his own body, eyes closed as if lost in thought.

“Lilian rarely comes out. She usually only controls the body in the afternoon or at night.”

Soren initially wanted to scold her a bit, but after meeting the God of Death – Ye Ge, Sherek’s existence felt like a mountain pressing down on him, making him somewhat anxious and unsettled. The Demon God of Fear has not been resolved, and now Sherek has reappeared; Soren truly feels like time is not on his side. Compared to these matters, Lilian’s existence seemed less important. As long as he could deal with the Demon God of Fear and Sherek, reshaping his body or soul separation would be much easier.
Sherek must be eliminated!
Because even if he gets rid of the Demon God of Fear, if Sherek is not dealt with, he will definitely set his sights on the newly inherited powers of Vivian.

If Sherek remains alive, he will undoubtedly spend all day weaving plots to kill Vivian and seize her divine professions.
Lilian is still within Soren’s tolerable range.
