Chapter 36: Astral Fortress!

Astral Fortress.
Under normal circumstances, only three races can encounter fortresses in the boundless astral realm.
They are Gisz, Gisz Serelle, and the ancient Ygoroth. It was mentioned earlier that in the distant past, Ygoroth created a magnificent interdimensional civilization and controlled and enslaved a large number of other races using the astral realm as a transit point. The Grey Dwarves and Gisz are victims of the Ygoroth empire, who were even forced to acquire mental abilities during the long period of enslavement.
Ygoroth developed an extremely powerful interstellar civilization using spiritual energy (also known as ghostly energy).
They are an alien species from other worlds, and it is said that the Ygoroth who reached here originally came inside an astral dreadnought. The destruction of the Ygoroth empire allowed Gisz to inherit much valuable knowledge and abilities. Compared to the mental abilities gained by the Grey Dwarves, Gisz obtained even more precious knowledge. They learned how to build astral fortresses, mastered very advanced forging techniques, and adapted to living in the astral environment; they behave wickedly like robbers, using the astral realm as a springboard to plunder resources from other worlds.
The shadow of Gisz may appear in any plane.
Their clan takes the astral fortress as its base and may enter all the worlds they can access.
Gisz likes to plunder.
But if the target is strong enough, they also learn to trade fairly; in the lower planes, evil Gisz often engage in various trades with Ygoroth using items from the astral realm.
As for another race, Gisz Serelle, they have long adhered to the path of the monk and have not interacted with humans for many years.
Gisz Serelle pursues the mysteries of the mind.
They believe that the deepest part of the mind hides the true self and power, and thus highly venerates the path of the monk internally, making them the race with the most monks. They are mortal enemies of Gisz, but unfortunately, their numbers are not many, and the probability of encountering them is very small. (Note: Only some ancient monasteries in the Eastern Kingdom maintain contact with Gisz Serelle.)

The astral realm is full of various dangers, and there is not enough order here, so encountering battles and plundering during astral explorations is very normal.
The astral realm is simply too vast!

These steel fortresses drift in the endless astral realm; unless one is a traveler wandering in the astral realm for years, the probability of encountering them is similar to randomly meeting divine saints in turbulent years. Generally speaking, encountering a Gisz steel fortress is not a good sign, as it means you might face the plundering of a Gisz army.

When Soren discovered the Gisz steel fortress, they also found this small floating tower in the astral realm.
Gisz possesses innate mental abilities.
Their steel fortress is shrouded in a powerful spiritual energy field, just like a High Priest’s mind domain. In the dark astral realm, Gisz can detect any sufficiently strong energy fluctuations nearby.
This is convenient for them to avoid danger and seek plunder targets!

In the perception of Gisz, this solitary floating tower drifting in the astral realm is considered a target that can be plundered.
Under normal circumstances.
Encountering such a floating tower in the astral realm usually involves one or two legendary archmages at most.
Many “astral travelers” like to use floating towers as bases to explore and search in the endless astral realm. The daring and reckless Gisz, relying on their numbers and adaptation to the astral realm, often attack those astral explorers.
Generally speaking, if such plundering is successful, Gisz can obtain a large amount of wealth!
“It seems they consider us as targets to plunder.”

If Soren weren’t here,

Soren felt no tension in his heart; instead, he was quite curious to see how these Gisz planned to rob him. Their robbing style had spread throughout the multiverse, and perhaps the people above were gearing up for a grand operation.

Gloria shot Soren an annoyed glare and then said seriously: “The energy protection of the floating tower is not stable; we cannot let the Gisz damage the structure of the floating tower.”

“And the Elemental Furnace is inside; the research on the floating tower has already cost about five million Gind.”
“If the Gisz break it!…”

“When that happens, you’ll see for yourself!…”
Soren initially had a relaxed expression, but after listening to Gloria’s words, he suddenly became tense. It wasn’t that he was anxious about being unable to defeat the Gisz; he was worried about what to do if the floating tower got damaged.
