So, he set the phone aside and stared blankly at the ceiling.
This past week, he hadn’t given Li Qing Xue a kind face at all.
In fact, he had been maintaining a chilly demeanor in front of her.
Several times, he had witnessed her trying to speak to him, her lips quivering as if wanting to say something.
But he never gave her a chance to open her mouth.

“Yep, going to her house for extra lessons every weekend from now on,” Dragon Brother replied.
“Alright then,” the Old Man chuckled, remembering how his son had gone from dead last to second to last, making him quite pleased. He even chopped a few extra pounds of ribs.

Since then, the Old Man had been at a loss about how to approach Dragon Brother again. Whenever he thought to talk about his grades, he worried about straining their relationship even further.
Now, seeing Dragon Brother gradually changing for the better filled the Old Man with joy.
As for that little teacher helping his son with extra lessons? He was super grateful.
Grateful that she could take time from her breaks in such a stressful high school period to tutor Dragon Brother.
“Well, I’m off then, I’ll come back after classes in the afternoon.”
“Got money? Take some to treat her to something,” the Old Man said while rummaging in a box for cash.
“I’ve got money; you don’t need to. I’ll be leaving now,” Dragon Brother patted his pocket, grabbing the meat and groceries. “I’m leaving one umbrella here for you.”
He left an umbrella for the Old Man before setting off.
On the way, he squeezed the umbrella between his neck and shoulder, using one hand to message Hu Yu Ying.
“Are you home? I’m on my way now.”
He quickly received a reply: “Dragon Brother, sorry, I’m not home yet.”
“Where are you?”
“I’m at Nan Feng Square, but I’ll be home soon,” Hu Yu Ying replied, glancing nervously at the still-pouring rain outside.
When she left this morning, it had only been gloomy, but now, it was pouring cats and dogs.
She looked towards a nearby store.
Hu Yu Ying walked inside, glancing at the cheap umbrellas on the shelves, with the cheapest costing thirty bucks—instantly getting caught in indecision.
In the end, she left the shop empty-handed.
“Earlier, on the way here, I saw a guy getting drenched. It was so funny!”

Ye Liang Chen paused too, then chuckled, looking up at the sky with a smile, “Is this our fate?”

With this thought, he quickened his pace toward Hu Yu Ying.
As Ye Liang Chen approached, Hu Yu Ying awkwardly furrowed her brows.
The white shirt was clinging to him after getting soaked, making the two little black beans on his chest very prominent.
