Chapter 109: Such a childish move, truly very Dragon Brother
“Hey, little brat, why didn’t you go out today? Still lying around at home being lazy?” Old Man pushed open the door, glancing at Long Aotian who was sprawled on the bed, staring blankly at nothing.
Ever since the college entrance exams, this little guy had been running outside every day—morning out, evening back. Even when he took his driving test, same story.
If he weren’t so sure he was dating Hu Yu Ying, that adorable little girl, he would have already dragged him back by now.
But today, surprisingly, Long Aotian didn’t go out. That made Old Man a bit stunned.
“Just wanna rest, rest.” Long Aotian muttered, weakly. His biological clock had him up early again.
Yet he just stayed in bed, exhausting all his energy and having none to spare.
“You’re acting kinda off, kid.” Old Man stepped into the room and sat beside him.
As a father, he could spot every tiny change in his son.
Right now, Long Aotian gave him the feeling of suddenly losing some kind of goal.
People with goals have drive; lose that, and naturally, the motivation fades.
“I’m not acting weird, I just wanna rest,” Long Aotian said as he sat up, scratching his messy hair.
“It’s probably because of that little teacher of yours, huh?” Old Man whispered, “Don’t think I don’t know—you’re always sending her meat, ribs, big bones… scratching your head over there like a love-struck fool, huh?”
“That’s exaggerated!” Long Aotian felt Old Man was overdoing it. He hadn’t been running to her house eight times a day.
Only then did he realize: “Old Man! You’re asking me on purpose!”
Old Man chuckled softly but said nothing. Having lived half his life, he knew what his mind was up to. If he didn’t have this kind of calculation, how could he have raised Long Aotian from a mischievous kid into who he is now?
“If you like her, just go chase her! Xiao Girl’s voice is so sweet and polite—Old Man likes her.”
Old Man’s marriage had been a failure, and in raising kids, he’d call it a bit of a flop too. He was a rough guy—all words he couldn’t say, scared that one careless remark might make Aotian mad or upset. But deep down, he always cared a lot about his kid.
Since Aotian changed his temper, though, the barrier between them disappeared.
He’d speak more freely now, without holding back.
“I just felt sorry for her,” Long Aotian admitted truthfully, the moment he saw Hu Yu Ying, he felt it instantly—like a flicker of sympathy, maybe even admiration, and he’d commented on it there and then.
“And besides, Bay City is too small,” he added.
Hu Yu Ying was like a caged bird now—trapped but refusing to give up. She started from the bottom, struggling through hardship and suffering, but never gave in, never lost heart. She kept pushing forward.
The college entrance exams were over.
The cage was opened.
She was flying toward a bigger, broader world—Kyoto University—witnessing the beauty of the sky and experiencing true freedom. She was going to meet more talented and excellent people.
She still needed to grow, to reflect on her inner self.
Because Long Aotian always thought that Hu Yu Ying depended on him more out of gratitude and reliance.
Grateful for his help, she relied on him.
And he genuinely wanted her to walk a different path than the original story.
Even if it was just for a brief moment, to let her forget her pain and feel a little warmth.
If he ever had bad intentions, this naïve girl Hu Yu Ying wouldn’t have been so easy to eat up—bones, marrow, and all, leaving nothing behind.
This girl had endured so much hardship.
Now everything had changed.
From now on, the little girl was about to soar to the sky!
As for why he liked teasing Hu Yu Ying—purely because she was so easy to bully, dumb but kind of fun.
And life, honestly, if you didn’t find some joy amidst boredom, what’s the point?
Old Man didn’t continue, because he had already made up his mind.
He’d jokingly said earlier, “If you like her, just go chase her…”
But Long Aotian’s reply was, “I just feel sorry for her.”
He saw the change in his son with his own eyes—more insightful than his old bones could be.
Kids these days were just too precocious, almost uncomfortably so.
Maybe he was truly old now, and let the youngsters handle their own world.
“Then you can’t just sleep at home all day. Enough rest—get out and take a walk,” Old Man said, leaving the room to go do his chores.
Long Aotian stretched lazily on the bed, thinking of playing.
But honestly, there wasn’t much fun in that.
The scoundrels he used to know… he really couldn’t get into that scene.
What was his little girl up to now?
He paused, shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts.
“Resting, blanking out, after all these years of working like a beast, even crossing over, I still never truly rested. So what if I rest a little now?”
“Let’s watch TV.”
Lying on the sofa, staring at the screen: “Lazy and carefree for a moment, and that feels pretty good—keep lazy, keep happy!”
……
“Where shall we eat lunch?”
“Let’s check out the mall. After we finish, we can keep shopping.”
“Qing Xue, what about you?”
Li Qing Xue nodded: “I’m good with anything, but first, I wanna treat you guys to some ice cream.”
“Yay!” The four lively beauties—regardless of where they were—always drew attention.
They happily headed to the restaurant, ice cream in hand.
After sitting down, their girl talk kicked off.
Little Boss, the story continues in the next chapter—click next page to keep reading, more exciting stuff awaits!
Of course, Wang Rui talked a lot, and the others listened more.
Because among the four, Wang Rui was the boarding student, knowing classmates from other classes.
Her gossip was a treasure trove.
First, who confessed to whom in Class 7 and 8, and so on.
Second, who was about to confess to whom in various classes.
Anyone who knew would nod in agreement.
Li Qing Xue was into gossip, but not as much as the others. Right now, she was listening most seriously.
Finally, Wang Rui suddenly said mysteriously, “There’s one more thing, and you probably won’t believe it.”
“What is it? How can we believe it if you don’t tell us?”
She pretended to hesitate: “Hmph, when I first heard about this, I didn’t believe it either. But after I kept watching and eating the gossip, I concluded that the truth is real.”
Her words instantly fired up everyone’s curiosity—even Li Qing Xue couldn’t help but listen more carefully.
“Long Aotian scored 518 on the college entrance exam.”
“Really?!”
“No way, Long Aotian? The boss of our senior year?”
Wang Rui pursed her lips and nodded seriously: “Can’t believe it, huh?”
“Really? How did you find out?” Li Qing Xue’s eyes lit up, eager for answers.
Ever since Ye Liang Chen said she was a third wheel that day, she hadn’t contacted Long Aotian again, so she was super curious how Wang Rui knew!
“I have a roommate in Class 7, and their group chat has a guy called Wang Shuo, who’s dead last in their class, and he’s the one who told me.”
“Not just that. Long Aotian wasn’t just showing off to the guy at the bottom, Wang Shuo. He’s also been showing off to second and third last—so childish, huh?”
Pfft! Li Qing Xue burst out laughing—because that move, really, that was so Long Aotian.
【Don’t blame me—I’ve already deeply realized my mistake…】
