Chapter 187: Should I Be Your Little Maid?
After dinner.
Dragon Brother looked at Li Qing Xue and grinned, “Little cleaner, your turn!”
Li Qing Xue suddenly recalled what Dragon Brother had said earlier.
Hu Yu Ying mentioned she’d cook for Dragon Brother every day from now on.
And she had said that if Dragon Brother could buy a house in Kyoto, she’d clean his room daily.
Though this house wasn’t bought by Dragon Brother, she decided not to overthink it and jumped right in.
She didn’t have to clean everything by herself; Hu Yu Ying and Lin Wan Ning pitched in too.
When they went out to take the trash, Lin Wan Ning approached Dragon Brother and asked, “Big Brother, what will Wan Ning do later?”
“We’ve got a little chef and a little cleaner, so what about me?”
Seeing Lin Wan Ning’s serious look, Dragon Brother couldn’t help but chuckle. It was just a joke, and after knowing each other for a while, joking like this was simply fun.
Lin Wan Ning squatted down next to Dragon Brother, “How about I be your little maid and take care of you?”
Water that was just sipped sprayed out of Dragon Brother’s mouth.
Seeing this, Lin Wan Ning burst out laughing.
It’s only fair—why should she act so mature when she’s the same age?
“Are you trying to be a water attendant?” Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue teased as they returned from taking out the trash.
At that moment, Lin Wan Ning jogged over to them.
“Oh, so now you all dare to tease me!”
Seeing this, the trio—Lin Wan Ning and Li Qing Xue—turned and ran. Hu Yu Ying paused, glanced at Dragon Brother, then at the already fleeing Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning, and gasped before dashing off after them.
Dragon Brother returned to his room, grabbed the design plans, locked the door, and chased after them.
In the afternoon, Dragon Brother handed the plans to the renovation company’s salesperson.
This way, they could start work anytime.
He then bought some gifts because, after all, renovations could disturb the other tenants—a nice gesture would go a long way.
The trio’s adorableness left a good impression. Showing up with gifts was thoughtful; even not visiting would mean he couldn’t stop them from renovating, right?
He visited several households to casually introduce himself.
Most of the residents were outsiders renting rooms, while a small portion were older locals from Kyoto.
All in all, they were quite easygoing.
After finishing at the last house, Hu Yu Ying asked, “Dragon Brother, is this really necessary?”
He had spent quite a bit.
Hu Yu Ying had lived in many houses before, and the most memorable was from the three years in Bay City, where the house across the street had also been renovated without such fuss.
Honestly, Li Qing Xue and Lin Wan Ning didn’t get it either.
About this, Dragon Brother chuckled, “You’ve seen the design plans; it’s not a small job, and it will definitely affect the neighbors.”
“Visiting makes a difference. It’s one thing if you don’t visit, but if you do, it shows you care.”
“And we don’t know many people here; getting on good terms with the neighbors can only be beneficial for us.”
Being a big guy like Dragon Brother, it didn’t matter much.
But for the trio, if one day he wasn’t around and there was trouble, having friendly neighbors could be a safety net, even if it’s just someone keeping an eye out.
Though the odds were tiny, such things had happened before.
“Enough about that; in a few days, we’ll kick off renovations. I might be a bit busy, so if you’re bored, hang out together.”
“You can also chat about your online stores, like shop design, what to sell, and how to run the store.”
“And don’t worry about sourcing; I have connections from my previous trip with Yu Ying to Yiwu. If you decide, give it a try!”
Talking about this piqued the trio’s interest.
Hu Yu Ying had sold clothes before and was happy to share her experiences without holding back.
For them, it felt like a bold new adventure, and they were excited, adding another topic to their already endless chatter.
“I know someone who’s studying computer graphics. We could ask her to help with our shop decoration!” Li Qing Xue suggested.
“Is that okay?”
“Of course! We chatted on video just a couple of days ago.”
“What were you planning to sell?”
As the three chatted happily, Dragon Brother was left out in the cold.
On the way back to the academy, Lin Wan Ning was typing on her phone now and then.
“Watch where you’re going; don’t play on your phone while walking.”
“It’s fine, Big Brother’s beside me; what could possibly happen?” Lin Wan Ning replied with a grin, winking at Dragon Brother playfully.
But she dutifully put her phone away.
“I’m really so happy today; it feels like I suddenly have a family.”
“Hu Yu Ying is so kind, and Li Qing Xue is so lively; I’m really enjoying their company.”
“I told you they’re easy to get along with.” Dragon Brother nodded in agreement. “I genuinely hope you all become good friends.”
“We will!” Lin Wan Ning felt that they were already good friends.
After all, they were walking and still chatting.
“Here we are; take it easy on the road.” Dragon Brother halted as they reached the entrance of the music academy.
“Okay, Big Brother, see you!” Lin Wan Ning waved and headed into the school.
Today, she felt so fulfilled, gradually blending into her brother’s little group, her steps lightened considerably.
Watching Lin Wan Ning go into the academy, Dragon Brother turned around and left, heading back to the dormitory.
Xu Shuai was sitting on the bed, while Huang Fei and Li Long Long were moving stools to sit in front of him, looking like they were about to interrogate him.
Seeing this, Dragon Brother quickly grabbed a stool, “Make some space for me over there!”
Huang Fei and Li Long Long shifted over, freeing a spot.
Once seated, Dragon Brother and the others turned their attention to Xu Shuai.
Xu Shuai twitched his lips, looking at Dragon Brother, “You can’t just barge in like this!”
“Quit the chit-chat; hurry up and speak! This is all for the sake of our juniors, got it?” Huang Fei proclaimed earnestly, clutching a notebook and pen.
“If you really want to benefit others, you should go date someone yourself and truly understand!”
Hearing this, Huang Fei and Li Long Long suddenly felt like an invisible kn*fe had plunged into their hearts.
They were ready to fight back…
