Chapter 362: If Sister Isn’t Talking, I Won’t Give It to You
At the restroom entrance.
Dragon Brother just stepped out of the restroom when he spotted Shen Meng Jie casually leaning against the wall, fiddling with her phone.
After a brief hesitation, he smiled and said, “Thanks.”
Shen Meng Jie shrugged, “You should know this person, right?” She pulled up a photo on her phone of Ye Liang Chen, back when he was kneeling on the ground swearing up a storm.
Seeing Ye Liang Chen kneeling with such an excited expression, Dragon Brother looked at Shen Meng Jie in surprise and asked, “How do you have his photo?”
“I saw him at the music academy,” Shen Meng Jie explained, glancing back at Dragon Brother. “At first, he seemed to be looking for someone.”
Shen Meng Jie knew he was searching for Lin Wan Ning, but Lin Wan Ning was busy getting cozy with Dragon Brother.
Ye Liang Chen’s words weren’t to be fully trusted, but she was particularly curious about the relationship dynamics at play.
As for the so-called “collaboration” with Ye Liang Chen, please, they clearly had different goals.
For Shen Meng Jie, Ye Liang Chen and Xue Shao Hua were merely stepping stones beneath her feet, all to get closer to this mysteriously fascinating man.
He was so special that the closer she got, the more she could feel his unique aura.
It was hard to describe this feeling, but if she had to, it would be a sense of security.
This gut-wrenching sense of security came simply from him sitting beside her, quietly putting away cans of beer without uttering a word.
If she stayed quiet, he wouldn’t pry; he’d just silently accompany her, as if no matter what she did, he could pull her back. Wrapped in this unspoken security, her heart felt at ease.
When she spoke, he listened patiently, absorbing all her negative emotions, then transforming and digesting them.
He said he didn’t pity her because the things she did weren’t worth sympathy.
And he mentioned that these things were mutual; even if she was in the wrong, that didn’t mean she should bear the blame entirely.
She deserved to be held accountable, but so did the guy who was trying to get close to her while he already had a girlfriend—now that’s what you call fairness.
He spoke of fairness to someone like her.
Looking at the silent Dragon Brother, Shen Meng Jie spoke again, “He seems to have some beef with you, and he’s pretty confident. If I’m not mistaken, he probably came to the music academy looking for Lin Wan Ning, right?”
Dragon Brother furrowed his brows and nodded. He also believed Ye Liang Chen was indeed looking for Wan Ning. He went on to explain, “We had a little incident before.”
Shen Meng Jie raised an eyebrow in surprise. Having known Dragon Brother for so long, his temperament was usually calm.
Even his occasional jokes and antics were all in good spirits. For him to directly strike someone meant that guy must have done something unforgivable.
“You seem quite concerned about Lin Wan Ning. This concern seems to have surpassed mere friendship.”
That comment made Dragon Brother glance at Shen Meng Jie but he didn’t respond.
Seeing that Dragon Brother didn’t want to elaborate, Shen Meng Jie merely smiled.
Looking at Shen Meng Jie’s phone showing the picture of Ye Liang Chen kneeling, she asked seriously, “Do you know him?”
“Yeah, he wants to date me,” Shen Meng Jie admitted with a carefree tone. “I haven’t met someone so blindly confident in a while.”
Thinking back to how Ye Liang Chen reached out to the moon with his arms, wanting to hug it, Shen Meng Jie shuddered; she still couldn’t accept it no matter how many times she recalled it.
“He wants to date you?”
Shen Meng Jie frowned, flipping her long hair and lowering the zipper on her top a bit. “What do you mean? Am I not pretty?”
“No, no,” Dragon Brother hurriedly waved his hands, insisting he didn’t mean anything by it; he was just a bit surprised.
Perhaps upon entering this world, the original plot had indeed changed quite a bit.
After all, characters like Huang Fei, Shen Meng Jie, and others never appeared in the original story.
But due to his existence, they had all become his friends, and now there was also a connection with Ye Liang Chen. He wasn’t sure if that was good or bad.
Stealing a glance at Shen Meng Jie, he cautiously asked, “You don’t have feelings for Ye Liang Chen, do you…?”
Before he could finish, Shen Meng Jie cut him off. Like a little cat whose fish had been snatched away, she playfully pinched his arm. “If you want to insult me, just say it directly! No need for subtle jabs!”
With a roll of her eyes at Dragon Brother, her good mood disappeared, and she stomped off toward the private room in a huff.
Dragon Brother rubbed his arm; it still stung…
After everyone scattered, Dragon Brother didn’t return to the dormitory with Huang Fei and the others.
Instead, he headed to the entrance of the music academy and called Lin Wan Ning.
Before long, a figure came running from the academy, joyfully jumping into Dragon Brother’s embrace.
“Big Brother, you finally called me! Did sister agree? I missed you!”
Looking at the excited Lin Wan Ning in his arms, there was no trace of the cold goddess; she was a total clingy kitten.
“Ah Ying didn’t say anything. I just came to see you about something.”
Hearing this, Lin Wan Ning pulled away and wrapped her clothes tighter around herself, rejecting him, “No way!”
“If sister doesn’t say anything, I won’t give it to you!”
Dragon Brother lightly tapped her on the head, “Am I really that kind of person in your eyes?”
Lin Wan Ning looked puzzled. It was no wonder—after embracing her brother, they had been getting a bit too affectionate each time they met.
So naturally, seeing him come to find her, she thought he wanted to… you know…
Rubbing her little head, she sweetly glanced at Dragon Brother, “What’s the matter?”
Dragon Brother’s expression turned serious, “I heard from a friend that Ye Liang Chen was looking for someone at the music academy not too long ago.”
“You need to be careful during this time. Don’t go out too much. Even if you bump into Ye Liang Chen, just avoid him and don’t get into any arguments.”
“If he dares to come find me again, I’ll make sure to take revenge for Qing Xue! That guy’s too despicable!” Lin Wan Ning clenched her little fists, her tone dripping with coldness.
When she found out Ye Liang Chen had bullied Qing Xue, she was livid.
But once she heard that Dragon Brother had nearly knocked him out with a punch, she felt a bit better—and even laughed out loud…
Glancing at Dragon Brother, she said, “Big Brother, you don’t need to worry about me. I’m not like Qing Xue. They’ve known each other longer, and she’s a bit shy. If he dares to bother me, I won’t let him off easily!”
Due to family reasons, Lin Wan Ning had once felt she had to make herself hard to approach, with her cold demeanor as her protective shell.
But now, things were different. She had her brother, sister, and close friends backing her up. She wouldn’t be scared of those who tried to bully her or her friends anymore…
