Chapter 366: The Housekeeper
Bright and early, after wrapping up his morning workout, Dragon Brother couldn’t wait to dash toward the subway entrance. He had spent one whole night away, lying in his dorm bed, and the feeling of having someone around him made it hard to sleep.
It was just one night apart, but he missed his little girl incredibly. The thought of not being near her made his heart race like he’d just sprinted a marathon.
Bursting out of the subway, he dashed through the doors and hurried to his room. As he flung the door open, he was ready to leap onto his bed and feast on his little girl.
But instead, he was greeted by the sight of two jade-like figures cozily nestled together. The blanket barely concealed their soft forms, creating a scene that looked like a breathtaking work of art.
Hu Yu Ying stirred at the noise, her sleepy eyes fluttering open. Spotting the bewildered Dragon Brother at the door, she giggled softly and soothingly patted Lin Wan Ning, who was still tossing and turning in her arms.
With a gentle tone, she said to Dragon Brother, “Go grab some breakfast.”
“Sure!” Dragon Brother nodded, carefully backing out and closing the door behind him.
“Mmm~~” After sending him off, Hu Yu Ying stretched luxuriously in the warm bed. Thanks to Lin Wan Ning’s massage last night, she felt delightful. A soft hum escaped her lips.
Getting out of bed, she dressed quickly and casually pinned up her slightly messy hair with a shark clip. Then she tiptoed back to the bed, her fingertips gently tracing Lin Wan Ning’s nose.
Lin Wan Ning twitched at the tickle and instinctively pulled further under the covers, rubbing the blanket against her nose.
Seeing this, Hu Yu Ying couldn’t help but chuckle.
Before long, Lin Wan Ning popped her head out from the blankets, her sleepy eyes hazy. She glanced at Hu Yu Ying and cutely rubbed her eyes until she finally woke up.
Ruffling her messy hair, she called out, “Sister!”
“Time to get up! Dragon Brother went out to buy breakfast,” Hu Yu Ying urged.
At this, Lin Wan Ning paused mid-yawn. In an instant, she rolled out of bed and began putting on her clothes.
Hu Yu Ying laughed, “Are you scared Dragon Brother will see you?”
Lin Wan Ning looked a bit confused for a moment, then thought about it – she had done all sorts of embarrassing things already, so why worry about being seen?
With a playful pout, she hugged Hu Yu Ying, “Did you enjoy the massage last night, sister?”
“Yeah, it felt great!” Hu Yu Ying said, stretching again. Lin Wan Ning took this chance to wrap her arms around her slim waist, “Then I’ll be your personal masseuse from now on!”
Just then, there was a noise at the door.
Lin Wan Ning released Hu Yu Ying and started fixing her messy hair.
“Here’s a hair tie,” Hu Yu Ying said, handing one to Lin Wan Ning, who quickly fashioned her long hair into a neat style.
Dragon Brother didn’t just waltz in. Nope, he knocked first.
“Come in when you’re ready!”
Once he heard the little girl’s voice, he pushed the door open. Upon seeing the two of them, he cleared his throat, “Breakfast is ready, let’s eat!”
Lin Wan Ning just giggled behind her hands at his awkwardness.
Hu Yu Ying rolled her eyes at him, noticing how he looked all serious now but got the most unserious when on the bed.
“Brother, I’ve noticed something. You don’t really seem to like eating fried dough sticks for breakfast, do you?” Lin Wan Ning asked quietly as she munched on her food.
This was a topic that Hu Yu Ying had already figured out. She remembered the time when they were in Haigang City, and she tried to make him fried dough sticks, but he refused to eat them and ended up having pancakes instead.
So she, too, was curious why Dragon Brother was so averse to fried dough sticks.
Hearing the question and feeling Hu Yu Ying’s gaze on him, Dragon Brother twitched his mouth uncertainly, unsure how to explain. The truth was, he used to love fried dough sticks, especially with a bowl of savory tofu pudding…
But now, knowing that he might meet his end with a moldy fried dough stick by the trash can, he instinctively started avoiding them.
So he merely said he just didn’t like them.
Hu Yu Ying and Lin Wan Ning definitely sensed that wasn’t the real reason, but they didn’t press further. Everyone had their food dislikes.
As they continued breakfast, Hu Yu Ying shared her thoughts and concerns from yesterday with Dragon Brother.
“So I was thinking, maybe it’s best if we let Lin Wan Ning and Qing Xue move in with us.”
Dragon Brother understood the little girl’s worries. On their first day in Kyoto, Li Qing Xue was the one who welcomed them at the train station…
Their friendship was profound, and it was completely natural to want to help a friend who felt down.
“Yeah, Ye Liang Chen and Xue Shao Hua won’t dare mess around after you dealt with them, but they can be seriously annoying.”

“How about this? Once the workers arrive, I’ll chat with the foreman about getting a room set up. It’s getting colder, and without a door or windows, it’d just be a drafty mess.”
At that, Lin Wan Ning dove into Hu Yu Ying’s arms, “We’ll finally be able to huddle under one blanket and whisper secrets again!”
“Since we have no big classes this afternoon, let’s go out and have some fun with Qing Xue!”
Seeing their joy, Dragon Brother couldn’t help but smile along.
After breakfast, he escorted Hu Yu Ying to A University.
The little girl softly said, “Thanks for always accommodating me.” Watching Dragon Brother’s back, an unnameable warmth spread in her chest…
It felt like he had always supported her. Even way back, though he’d joke about getting a punch to the gut, he always came through for her…
“Do we really need to say thank you between us?” he replied, glancing back at the little girl. “Besides, didn’t I say I’d always prioritize you? If I’m not supporting you, who am I supposed to support?”
