Chapter 398: He is the First One to Truly Appreciate Me
At the entrance of the music academy.
Hu Yu Ying glanced at Lin Wan Ning and chuckled softly, “Sounds great!”
As soon as Qing Xue connected to the video call, Hu Yu Ying hastily pleaded with Dragon Brother to bring her along. She was so insistent that she skipped her meal and rushed over—only to be late, of course.
Lunch hour had arrived, and after a long rehearsal, it was finally time to eat.
While walking, they wrapped up today’s practice.

“Let’s grab something to eat first!” Dragon Brother said, leading the little trio for a snack nearby.
After their meal, Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue strolled off together.
Once Dragon Brother dropped Lin Wan Ning back at the academy, he returned to start his training.

Ye Liang Chen stood at the exit with his arms crossed, doing his best statue impression.
He didn’t bat an eye at the confused looks from the countless people streaming in and out.
Those who understood him needed no further explanation.
As for the clueless ones? He could shout a symphony and it wouldn’t matter!
Just be himself; there was no need to care about those who didn’t get him!
Soon enough, Ye Liang Chen spotted someone walking out and a confident smirk crept onto his face.
“Bro Chen!” Gao Quan waved excitedly.
Seeing his best buddy filled Ye Liang Chen with equal parts excitement and joy.
He spread his arms wide from afar, whipped his hair confidently as he swaggered toward Gao Quan.
“Long time no see!”
“Yeah, it’s been a while! How’s life treating you in Kyoto, Bro Chen?”
Ye Liang Chen flashed a confident grin and tossed his hair again: “Of course! Your Bro Chen’s confidence and maturity can charm anywhere!”
He playfully pinched Gao Quan’s cheek, then looked at his bangs. “Whoa, you’re looking trendy! Dyed your hair?”
Gao Quan chuckled and casually adjusted his bangs.
“College opened my eyes to how dull senior year was! So I decided to unleash my inner stylish self!”
Ye Liang Chen couldn’t keep his eyes off Gao Quan’s newly colored bangs.
He flicked his own bangs, pondering if he should dye his hair too.
But definitely not yellow—chestnut brown would suit his refined vibe much better.
When the moment arrived, he’d slip into a suit, tie it neatly, part his hair down the middle, and voilà—total heartthrob status!
With that thought, he clapped Gao Quan on the shoulder. “You haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll take you to grab some food!”
“For the next few days, just relax and enjoy. You can say you’ve been to Kyoto, haha…”
“Sure, I’ll follow your lead, Bro Chen! I’m starving anyway! Time to sample Kyoto’s specialties!”
The two made their way out of the station.
“By the way, Bro Chen, are you and Li Qing Xue dating now?” Gao Quan laughed, his eyes nearly squinting shut.
Mentioning that made Ye Liang Chen flash back to the day Li Qing Xue slapped him just to defend Dragon Brother without even hearing him out.
He took a deep breath and said slowly, “Do you trust me?”
“Of course!”
“Well then, I’m glad. I once told you I’d have three wives, right? You’ve already met two—Hu Yu Ying and Li Qing Xue. And now, I won’t keep it from you—there’s Lin Wan Ning.”
“Three?!” Gao Quan had always thought Ye Liang Chen was just joking.
Seeing Gao Quan’s shocked face, Ye Liang Chen smirked nonchalantly. “Some things I can’t share just yet, but trust me, time will prove the truth of my words.”
Hearing Ye Liang Chen’s confident tone and serious expression, Gao Quan cautiously asked, “Lin Wan Ning? Is she someone new? Will she really be your wife?”
Ye Liang Chen loved seeing Gao Quan’s astonishment so much that he almost couldn’t find the words to explain he might even have a fourth wife, Shen Meng Jie, in the future.
Nah, better not spill those beans. Gao Quan didn’t even have a girlfriend right now; the more he said, the more pressure it would put on his buddy.
After all, not everyone can be as carefree as he was!
“Don’t be so shocked! You know me—I like to keep things low-key. You’re being a bit dramatic there! Just wait and see; I’ll prove everything I say in good time.” Ye Liang Chen said casually.
It was as if having three girlfriends was something to be modest about.
“Should we call Li Qing Xue and have a dinner reunion?” Back in Haian City, they’d been classmates for three years, and Gao Quan got along pretty well with her. He figured since he was in Kyoto, why not see if the former class leader had changed a lot?
Ye Liang Chen’s eyes lit up.
Of course! He could have Gao Quan invite Li Qing Xue out and whip up a drink called “See You Tomorrow,” using it to mend any misunderstandings. After she drank it, he could do whatever he wanted!
With that thought, a bigger grin spread across Ye Liang Chen’s face.
“Why are you smiling, Bro Chen? I’ve been trying to master your crooked smile for ages and can’t seem to get it right.”
At this, Ye Liang Chen cleared his throat twice. “Oh, it’s nothing. Just remembered something funny.”
“And this crooked smile? It’s just a subconscious reaction—most people can’t pull it off! No need to feel disheartened.”
Then Ye Liang Chen smoothly drifted onto another topic, “But you make a good point. Maybe I should just call the class leader. You two are old friends, after all. It wouldn’t hurt to reminisce over some good times.”
“Alright! I’d love that. Plus, it’d be cool for the class leader to recommend some fun spots around here,” Gao Quan exclaimed, glancing at Ye Liang Chen as if to say, “Come on, Bro, call her already!”
Ye Liang Chen felt a bit awkward, not quite ready to admit he’d been blacklisted by Qing Xue.
He simply mentioned he and Qing Xue had a small falling out, making a call now could mean she might hang up on him out of spite!
“Oh, in that case, I’ll call her. You better apologize! After knowing her for so long, a sincere apology will surely get you back in her good books!”
Gao Quan whipped out his phone and dialed Li Qing Xue.
The phone rang but went unanswered.
After the automatic hang-up, Gao Quan shrugged. “Maybe she’s busy.”
The call going through meant she hadn’t blocked Gao Quan, so maybe she really was just tied up.
With that in mind, Ye Liang Chen said, “Never mind. Let’s grab a bite first. I’ll introduce you to a new friend later tonight.”
“He’s the first one who truly appreciates me! I’m sure you two will get along fabulously!”
