**Chapter 150: Silly Sister, Take Care**
Thinking about it, the Dragon Lady suddenly felt that the Eternal Life Village didn’t seem so dangerous anymore. After all, there’s no such thing as an absolutely dangerous place in the world. If you think there is, it just means one thing: you’re not strong enough. Simple as that.
If she could bring her past self here, what would she even fear about the Eternal Life Village? Forget alliances; she could just bulldoze through and flatten the place, turning the four Godmothers inside into little cookies! That would eliminate all dangers, right?
And at that point, who cares what happens to Bai Yu?
Just snatch her away, and that’s that!
Bai Yu used to be incredibly strong—too strong for her to snatch. Such a bummer!
Even if she couldn’t regain her old strength, so what? As long as she could merge with Bai Yu, the Eternal Life Village wouldn’t stand a chance. Four Evil Gods? The boss got injured somehow, and the second one is a mystery. The third and fourth are weaklings; she had already had a taste of their strength back in the previous village.
Then there are the villagers and the little monsters. Honestly, there’s nothing to worry about there. Once the four Evil Gods are taken care of, those little monsters would disappear on their own!
“The abilities of the four Evil Gods differ. They represent No Think, No See, No Hear, and No Speak.”
“No Think, also known as No Thought, is a title found in ancient texts associated with the Burning Heart Goddess. These four Evil Gods have been around for at least hundreds of years. They caused chaos and were subdued by skilled fighters from the common folk, and it’s only now that they’ve re-emerged.”
“I don’t need to explain the strength of Evil Gods, do I? Curses and evil thoughts are their tools and means of gaining power—essentially, it’s an upgraded version of an evil spirit.”
“Curses and evil thoughts spread quickly. Their ability to k*ll and enslave is unmatched by little ghosts. For instance, as a ghost, your abilities are limited to your mental range. A regular little ghost can hardly k*ll even one person—say, a common Red Clothes ghost, can probably take out only a handful in a night? They’re just too restricted.”
“But not the Evil Gods. With a curse and an evil thought, they can take out half a village in one night! Of course, they usually don’t do that; they keep these people alive to spread their curse power.”
“The broader the curse spreads, the stronger the Evil Gods become. Conversely, to k*ll the Evil Gods, you need to wipe out their believers completely and cut off their curse from spreading.”
“Without the curse, weak Evil Gods will d*e instantly. The stronger ones, like the four in the Eternal Life Village, will shrink back and fall into a forced slumber until the next person gets cursed.”
The Dragon Lady briefly explained the situation in the Eternal Life Village to Bai Yu when Zhao Mingyue returned, holding three bottles of drinks. It hit her then that Bai Yu didn’t need to drink, and she still had the passion fruit tea that the Dragon Lady bought her.
Fuming, she flopped down beside them, feeling utterly flustered.
The Dragon Lady couldn’t help but chuckle at her cute expression.
“The Burning Heart Goddess has curse abilities related to thoughts and dreams—she’s no slouch! You probably have a rough idea.”
“Her curse is her name. You can’t think of her name in your mind; doing so will get you cursed! At first, the curse power is weak, and if you stop thinking about her, it will fade. The real problem is that her curse ability plants a subtle suggestion in your heart, and you can’t help but overthink it.”
“As the curse deepens, hallucinations begin to appear, and dreams get entangled with evil thoughts. At that point, whether you live or d*e is entirely in the hands of the Burning Heart Goddess.”
“Living isn’t necessarily great; ultimately, you will become a believer and end up in the back village.”
“This Burning Heart lady was ambushed by something, and those she cursed kept dying, while those who survived were expelled of evil thoughts by external forces. In a last-ditch effort, she entered Mingyue’s body through a ritual.”
“She’s quite powerful. Despite having no believers now, she still has combat strength. Let’s just say Red Clothes ghosts don’t even stand a chance against her, so Bai Yu, you’re right to focus on getting rid of her.”
“This era is different from before. Back then, just verbally passing on the Burning Heart Goddess’s name was enough; but now, with just one video, she could instantly gain millions of potential followers!”
“Okay, maybe that’s a bit exaggerated. The Evil Gods have limited power; the Burning Heart Goddess can’t absorb that many. But she could rapidly increase her strength over time to a frightening level. What will she become? No clue.”
“I’ve heard that she can even expand her abilities further, turning some believers’ names into sources of curses. Sometimes, people don’t even realize that they’ve been caught just by hearing her famous name.”
“Under her, there’s the Thousand Eyes Godmother, whose curse ability is to see. Anyone who sees things tainted by her curse will also be cursed—could be her statue or her scriptures.”
“There are still some limitations. If she could spread her curse power to other believers like the Burning Heart Goddess does, instead of just statues and scriptures, the spread would be faster than hers.”
“Then we have the Brahma Sound Godmother, whose curse power is sound. Hearing her voice will get you cursed, which seems powerful but has its limits. Initially, spreading the curse is quite tricky; the sound is too faint—focus a little bit, and it can be easily ignored.”
“And the last one, the A She Godmother, is the weakest. Her method of spreading curses is the most complicated; she must make a sound to pass along the curse. She complements the Brahma Sound Godmother’s abilities, which makes their relationship the best—like true sisters!”
Having said that, the Dragon Lady paused and collected her thoughts. Being with Bai Yu made her feel sharper; emotions that were once hard to stir up began to get lively, and she liked that feeling.
Casually twisting off the cap of the drink in Zhao Mingyue’s hand, ignoring her shocked expression, the Dragon Lady took a sip and said, “For some reason, the powers of the three Godmothers are trapped in the front village and can’t get out. We’ll only be able to release them fully after destroying the front village.”
“Most of their believers are gathered in the back village.”
“Let’s put it this way: there aren’t many living people left in the back village—it’s either living dead or ghosts. Living dead and ghosts don’t need to eat, sleep, get sick, or d*e, resembling perpetual motion machines. They only need to absorb the Godmothers’ essence, which is nothing for the Godmothers.”
“Once we get there, we need to find a way to k*ll those believers. Otherwise, no matter how badly we hurt the Godmother’s true form, it won’t matter.”
“I don’t exactly know how many there are inside, but there’s definitely a chance.”
“Oh, and one more thing.”
“The believers there aren’t weak; be careful.”
Just as things got serious, the Dragon Lady suddenly stood up and walked toward Bai Yu, standing right in front of her, a radiant smile on her face. “I believe in you; only you can give me such a strong sense of security, and only you can achieve what normal people can’t!”
“Do you know? That place is my nightmare, every inch of land marked by the deepest fear and despair.”
“So I can’t wait to watch you, little by little, destroy it.”
“My favorite thing is to have someone help me demolish my most desperate place—doesn’t that count as a form of romance?”
On the bench, Zhao Mingyue bit the straw, her gaze fixed on the Dragon Lady’s retreating figure.
As the last line fell from the Dragon Lady’s lips, she crumpled her empty passion fruit tea cup with a crunch and sprang up.
“Absolutely not!”
The Dragon Lady turned around to see a puffed-up Zhao Mingyue and couldn’t help but laugh, covering her face with one hand. “Alright, if you say it doesn’t count, it doesn’t count.”
“What a little vinegar jar.”
Zhao Mingyue was going crazy inside. If she had known, she wouldn’t have let Bai Yu come along. This Dragon Lady was so annoying! Who even is she?
Teasing Zhao Mingyue seemed to be enough for the Dragon Lady, so she stopped joking around.
She was doing quite fine as it was. If it had been anyone else instead of Zhao Mingyue, she wouldn’t have dabbled in jokes but would have gone straight for an attack.
“Today, there really is something important. It’s not what you think—here, add a contact. I’ll sketch a rough map of the back village and send it to you.”
“When to leave doesn’t matter; just tell me a day in advance. I’m always available. Recently, aside from a few people I need to deal with, I don’t have much else to do.”
The Dragon Lady was indifferent to the main quest.
Honestly, what was it for her? Just another d*ath—send her to woo Lu Liangting, and please don’t put her in a bind.
In a sense, don’t put Lu Liangting in a bind either. The “affection” that Bai Yu can endure probably would be beyond his capability.
“That’s about all; there isn’t much else to say. I’ll mark some precautions on the map.”
“So, is there anything else? Like going to watch a movie, grab a bite, or… hit a hotel?”
“Nothing else.” Bai Yu stepped into Zhao Mingyue’s shadow without another word.
The Dragon Lady raised an eyebrow but didn’t mind. “Still as brief as ever, huh? Alright, your call. Just a heads-up—if you’re bringing the little vinegar jar, make sure to take precautions against curses. It’s infested with curses; the little vinegar jar won’t be able to handle it.”
“Who are you calling a little vinegar jar?!” Zhao Mingyue bared her teeth, her faux ferocity looking quite adorable to the Dragon Lady.
Suddenly stepping forward, she lightly scratched Zhao Mingyue’s nose with her fingertip, the Dragon Lady smiled as she turned to leave.
That last smile was neither mocking nor sarcastic, just a plain and warm smile.
Zhao Mingyue saw her lips move but couldn’t catch what she said.
In reality, the Dragon Lady only muttered a short phrase.
“Take care, silly girl.”
Watching the Dragon Lady’s figure fade away, Zhao Mingyue touched her nose. “That girl is really something else.”
