Chapter 825

### Chapter 25: The Noteworthy Abnormality

The theater group leader only stayed for short performances.

Usually around ten minutes.

Afterward, they’d quickly finish their act and exit stage left.

Nobody had any clue where they’d pop up next.

The group members could only hope for luck to find the theater group leader.

Otherwise, they might be searching forever.

Now, the theater group leader was becoming increasingly famous online.

More people would likely be drawn to their performances.

If someone got hurt in this process, things could get messy pretty fast.

Night Star Lan wished Kuro inside the leader wouldn’t cause too much trouble.

She just hoped they wouldn’t lay a hand on regular folks.

At least then she wouldn’t have to worry so much.

But if they caused harm, Night Star Lan knew she couldn’t simply sit back and let the fish be in her pond.

Especially when she’s an audience performer and he’s the boss of her own theater group.

Someone had to take responsibility, after all.

Kaguya smiled warmly.

“Seems you’re quite vexed. Could it be you haven’t found the leader yet?”

“Yep, my group’s small and with how unpredictable he is, we almost never make it in time! The guy’s literally a master of time and space!”

Kaguya busied herself brewing tea on the side.

“If only I could help, but I ain’t made for long trips. And only Night Sky listens to me. If they agree, then we can set out to find him. More hands, more helping, right?”

“Nah, let’s not trouble them.”

Night Star Lan didn’t want debt hanging over her head.

Best to solve her own mess.

Night Sky sat on the couch, mindlessly petting some cat, looking like she wanted to say something but held back.

She wanted to help Night Star Lan get whatever she wanted.

But if she wasn’t asked, well, what’s done is done.

No point in being nosy.

Kaguya caught the drift and dropped it.

“Guess the Guardian might beat you to finding him. His growing fame means even the Guardians can’t miss such abnormality. Should they see something odd, maybe we’ll have some excitement.”

“What?”

“Sure it’s normal, each region has its own Guardian patrols. They could meet anywhere. A Guardian meeting means they might cross paths. Who knows what’s gonna go down.”

“Hmm…”

Night Star Lan pondered.

Guardians were supposed to be proper enforcers.

As his fame grew, surely others are looking into his identity.

But his identity is a blank slate—no records at all.

If a guardian figures out the unique quirks of the leader mid-performance, that could cause big problems.

He’s known to hate interruptions during his act.

Given he’s still hooked onto this performance obsession, he might stick to old habits.

Injuries could happen, altering the whole scenario.

Night Star Lan’s expression turned grim.

“Uh oh…what now?”

Night Sky eagerly raised her little paw.

“A bit o’ assistance, no worries. I’ve got connections among the Guardians and know some bigwigs who might keep an eye on the guy for us.”

Night Star Lan was cornered.

“Well, thanks. Don’t let anyone disrupt his act. Especially avoid causing a scene by cutting him off. It’d rile him up. Let the Guardians know.”

“Got it.”

Thus Night Sky pulled out her phone and dialed a high-ranking Guardian.

“Hello, is this Commander?”

Commander’s role was fluid; could be from either the Flying Wing Academy or the Guardian corps.

“Yo, it’s rare to hear from you, Loli Sky. What’s the big deal?”

“Um…probably heard about otherworldly forces dropping in. Wanted to give you a heads-up.”

“Hang on, Loli, how do you know about invading forces? Did they come sniffing around?”

“Blah, don’t mind that. Heard about the internet-famous street magician, the cool old dude?”

“Of course. He’s got way too much going on. We’ve been tracking him closely. No info exists on this guy. Like he just popped in, appearing everywhere yet leaving no trace. Initially suspected him as an overseas ability user, but now with these outside invasions, I’m not certain at all. Could be coming from somewhere unknown.”

Turns Out Loli Sky wasn’t far off.

The Commanders have already kept tabs on the frequent street performer and suspect something weird, similar to the announcer.

Commander could probably tell with a peek into the future.

Loli Sky carefully inquired further.

“Have you had contact with him?”

“Not yet. My abilities can’t fathom his tricks. All a mystery, but seems related to spatial manipulation. Otherwise, he’d have shown up on cameras across the board. We stay out until there’s less uncertainty, but also…”

Commander’s voice trailed off.

“We haven’t spotted any disruption to order. Just doing street performances. Thus, we’re observing for now and seeing what this mysterious newcomer wants.”

“Mmm, good call. One warning though—the danger level is sky-high. No joke, maybe worse than that S-grade Mist Hidden Beast we dealt with. Better avoid disturbing him when he’s performing. Got that?”

A brief silence followed.

“How do you know all this?”

“Hehe. You guess?”

“Nevermind, is your intel reliable?”

“As solid as ever. Trust me.”

“I trust you, but in case any disaster happens, will you pitch in?”

Commanders value capability.

Though they’ve taken down S-grade beasts before, it cost lots in casualties.

Easier having Night Sky handle things.

“Calm down. Someone’s sure to step in. See ya.”

Loli Sky hung up and flashed a peace sign towards Night Star Lan.

“Now the leader shouldn’t face any interruptions. Doing my bit for the world, ya know.”

“You’re a lifesaver, Loli Sky.”

“Just a quick call, that’s all.”

“Whew…thanks for not ratting me out. If Guardians came knocking, who knows where I’d be.”

Guardian corps aren’t like the night watchmen.

Facing unknown forces, Star Lan wasn’t in the mood to deal with it at all.
