Chapter 536: Actively Entering the Script
After obtaining the research materials related to the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell from Headmaster Mei Linde, my purpose for this trip was basically fulfilled.
As for the improvement of the Qi Observation Technique, I wasn’t very concerned. When Headmaster Mei showed a keen interest in it, I knew I didn’t need to invest too much energy into it. After all, this technique was just a product of my sudden inspiration, without much subsequent development plan. Headmaster Mei only valued the Qi Observation Technique based on the flow of fortune observed through my Spirit Vision at the Floating World level.
At this moment, I wasn’t sure if it was due to wanting to leave Natalie hanging for a while, but Headmaster Mei actually talked to me about many other things, such as showing concern for what I was currently busy with and advising me not to overwork myself, especially given the intensity of my recent activities.
Of course, it might also be because I had already touched upon the core of fortune and scripts, and the Headmaster hoped I would go out more and accomplish significant things. After all, the current situation was something the Headmaster had already mentioned to me.
Now, with so many Children of Fortune, their fortunes were scattered, and each Child of Fortune received little attention from the world’s consciousness. Therefore, it seemed somewhat trivial, which was detrimental to the observation and improvement of the Qi Observation Technique.
Fortunately, the Witch Academy had introduced players from those game worlds, which inadvertently contributed to this matter.
These players, centered around “Extraordinary Knowledge,” descended into the Main World using fortune as a medium, so in some sense, they could be considered a kind of pseudo-Child of Fortune since the fortune they captured could not be taken by ordinary means.
The Witch Academy hoped to use these unruly individuals to stir up the Main World.
As for the consequences of this approach?
The worst outcome would be merely a reduction in the Children of Fortune in the Main World, leading to a more concentrated fortune.
Indeed, with the progression of the script, this script’s node had developed to the point where even the Children of Fortune were not immune to death.
“By the way, Xiao Han, have you heard of the Horasso Swamp?”
“The Horasso Swamp?” I found that name a bit familiar, but soon understood the situation. “Oh, I see, I’ve heard that a large space tear occurred there?”
“Yes, do you know where it leads?”
“Um… it should be related to that colliding Small World, right?” I guessed.
After all, I had previously learned that a Small World would affect the stability of society in the Main World only if it merged unexpectedly.
Earlier, Headmaster Mei even told me that such space tears would cover the entire world and create chaos.
“Yes, are you curious about how that Small World will ultimately become part of the Main World?”
“Um, of course I’m curious,” I nodded immediately.
Since the Headmaster had mentioned this, it meant she was going to share some new knowledge with me.
“You should remember Ninglan New City, right? That miracle built upon the ruins—have you seen what corner of the Main World those ruins are located in?”
“No, so Ninglan New City… is on another planet… that seems wrong…”
“More accurately, it exists in another layer of space. A complete world consists of multiple overlapping spaces. If I were to use a similar analogy, it would be like the Magic Capital in reality and the Witch Academy layered on top of it—it’s roughly that kind of relationship. What we are in is the Core Realm of the Main World, also the last pure land of the Main World.”
“The overlapping layer of space?” Prompted by the Headmaster, I quickly realized, “It’s because it’s in an overlapping state that any disturbance in the spatial dimension will lead to a spatial collision, and then open a passage between the two spaces. So the space tear above the Horasso Swamp is a natural passage to that world, right?” I rapidly conveyed my thoughts.
“Correct.” Headmaster Mei nodded.
“Ninglan New City is also there?” I asked again.
“Yes, that world is referred to as the Expanding Realm outside the Core Realm, and beyond the Expanding Realm is the Void Frontline Realm. You can probably figure out what those names imply. The overlap of these spaces grows more tenuous as you reach the boundaries of the Void.”
“And these overlapping worlds essentially exist to protect the Core Realm from damage; they also provide a strategic depth to naturally respond to Void invasions.”
“I see.” This was the first time I had heard of this; I had naively believed that beyond the world lay the vast universe.
“Well, I won’t go into excessive detail; I’ll organize some information and share it with you through the Knowledge Tree shortly. It should satisfy your curiosity. I can see you’re not good at chatting; you probably want to go back, right? I’ve kept you here talking for so long, so it’s time to let you go.”
“Well, it’s not that serious…”
“It’s fine; after this discussion in my office, I can’t have peace either. So next time just come directly, no need to give me a heads-up, okay?”
“Mm-hm.” I quickly nodded in agreement.
After being sent off by the Headmaster, I let out a slight sigh of relief.
As I was leaving, I saw Natalie sticking close to me again. I must say, this persistence was quite… impressive.
But thinking of the fact that she was doing it for me, I couldn’t say much.
Instead, during my return journey, I took the opportunity to understand some basic knowledge about the world and the Void.
The common knowledge shared by the Headmaster was modest, yet it was somewhat difficult to grasp, especially without many relevant concepts in my mind, making understanding even harder.
The information documented the three basic layers of the world: the Core Realm, which is the initial layer, usually referred to as a Small World when it consists solely of the Core Realm; the Expanding Realm serves as a transitional phase, a layer of space paving the way for the Void Frontline Realm and also one of the criteria for Small Worlds transitioning to Medium Worlds.
When the Void Frontline Realm is fully formed and connects with the Void, at that moment, the world gives birth to extraordinary level life, allowing it to enter the Void, and only then is it called a Large World.
As for the Void… it isn’t just the kind of space environment that can be understood; the Void is truly a level of nothingness—because all material foundations are captured and cycled by the world, not dissipating into the Void.
Thus, there are almost no material particles in the Void, and even the concept of material space is nearly absent!
This means that anything observed based on material—including the material space itself—doesn’t exist.
However, the Void is still defined and exists because what lies beyond the world is the Void, not nihilism; only material space is absent, not other forms of space.
So, if an ordinary non-extraordinary life were to enter the Void, they would see nothing because the ability to observe light based on material space does not apply to the Void. Without material space, there is naturally no light, making it almost impossible to perceive anything—not just visually, but any biological sensory perception would fail, rendering the Void a complete nothingness to non-extraordinary life.
Furthermore, when a non-extraordinary life enters the Void, their life level cannot withstand the Void’s dissolving force, thus their material form will also dissipate and be captured by the nearby world, returning to the world for the material and soul cycle.
The life level of extraordinary beings can enter the Void without dying, which is one of the reasons why extraordinary lives can leave the world. To deal with the unseeable and imperceptible Void, it is required to observe the Void from “Real Time,” a concept that objectively exists without relying on material space, with its true five senses not limited to the material world.
Therefore, what lies outside the world is an extraordinary world, and the bonds between worlds are also communications among the extraordinary.
If a person ascends to an extraordinary level and observes the Void, they will find that the Void is actually not empty. The boundless Void has no visible boundaries, only the veins of the Earth extending above the Void, appearing like veins woven into a magnificent picture akin to a starry sky. The extension of the Earth vein allows the world to spread throughout the Void, for the world is the fruit of the Earth veins formed for the Void.
Watching the Headmaster describe the enchanting scene of the Void made me feel a surge of longing, and it further intensified my desire to ascend to the extraordinary!
After this wave of excitement passed, I suddenly realized an issue: as my understanding of the world and the Void deepened, the value of the Reverse Summoning Spell spellbook I had mastered seemed to exceed my imagination!
It appeared to have transcended the transmission of material space, becoming a transmission of the Void layer!
It seems I really have learned too little information, and I need to continue my studies.
However, I doubt the things I want to study would be recorded in the Witch Academy Library, unless I reach a higher level.
So for now, it’s best to solidify the basics while I still have time. Recently, I’ve been a bit carried away, over-exerting my foundation into results.
As for the Fool Dream Drink Meditation Method, it seems to be a matter I cannot rush.
I still have two things to fully comprehend: firstly, the basic books from the Witch Academy Library, and secondly, the research materials regarding the Grand Wisdom Enlightenment Spell from the Headmaster.
However, my usual style isn’t to just wait around and learn step by step; such learning and settling down could last for months or even longer. Looking back since my enrollment, I’ve never managed to last that long in “closed-door learning”!
I’m clear about my own capabilities.
The main point is that this time the Headmaster also mentioned I was too hasty. Although she recognized my focus on researching the Great Spellbook, even the Extraordinary Witches take time to rest.
Perhaps I should heed the Headmaster’s advice and choose a balanced approach to my life.
Witch transformation is a long process, and I need to stay at the Witch Academy for a considerable amount of time to truly become a witch.
However, just thinking about the things the Headmaster recommended made me feel a bit… uh… inappropriate?
The Headmaster suggested I could moderately participate in the script, stir things up for those players, and ultimately reap the rewards. I could also use the Great Knowledge Tree to record the scenes to show them, after all, in this script, the extraordinary are not allowed to play.
Only a moment ago, those witches who went to gather data were criticized by other academies for openly breaking agreements, and it took a long explanation to clear things up.
For some reason, when the Headmaster mentioned it, I felt like I was the only designated broadcaster on the Great Knowledge Tree platform…
Turning into a battlefield reporter, recording various situations, looking for fun on the side, saying things like “Hit that like button, and give the broadcaster a tip of knowledge, thank you, sisters…”
Just picturing that scene is cringeworthy, isn’t it?
But it seems not impossible?
I realize… I haven’t sought out fun for a long time. For various reasons, I seem to have suppressed my true nature and used self-improvement suggestions to convince myself that everything I do has significance, ignoring my feelings towards my surroundings.
Thinking back to when I hadn’t yet encountered the extraordinary, I was so naive and filled with expectations, I would actively seek fun, even leading troubled girls through the enrollment process.
Now that I have grown stronger, it seems everything has become overshadowed by power, leading to a version of me that is not the same as before. I have no friends; I had fantasized about starting a new life when I enrolled, but this new life still lacks friends.
I look down at my classmates and seniors with an air of superiority, feeling a sudden wave of disgust at my own arrogance.
One of the most distressing things in life is realizing that traits you despise have manifested within yourself.
As a result, I find it hard to get along with anyone. Even that day in the bakery, I said things like that to those girls. Although I still don’t regret what I said, I’m contemplating more important issues.
“Following the trend… perhaps the moment I develop a rejection reaction towards the script, I’m destined to become an outcast disliked by everyone within it.”
After I said this, I quietly began to do something else: accepting the trend of fortune…
I admit that I embraced the Headmaster’s suggestion, although the ultimate aim is to agree to the Headmaster’s plan of reaping the rewards from that game world.
But undeniably, the most straightforward solution now is to connect with those players, integrate into the script, and enter the game.
“Let me think…” I took out my phone and briefly explained the situation in the group chat.
This group chat was created for research related to the Great Knowledge Tree. After all, I temporarily put aside my research on the Great Knowledge Tree, so I needed to inform them, considering that besides the projects related to the Fool Dream Drink Meditation Method, most are already on track, and if they encounter problems, they can contact me directly.
Of course, what I said to the two witches working on the Fool Dream Drink Meditation Method project was another matter entirely. I now had some ideas and was steadily pushing forward in my way. In short, I meant to let them know not to rush.
They also showed great understanding regarding my decision to temporarily set aside my research, especially since it’s a rare holiday now.
This did surprise me a bit, but on reflection, it makes sense; these witches are not like those who exhibit pathological expectations of me. I was overthinking.
“With everything roughly settled, I now have a lot of time. Hmm… let’s see how the fortune will guide me after I enter the game?”
At this moment, I emptied my mind, letting various thoughts echo through my brain, ignoring the existence of fortunes, yielding to a part of the fortune. Soon enough, I felt an inexplicable “throb.”
“Oh… I just remembered, the store manager still owes me a gift. Let’s go check on her; since it’s a fateful encounter, she should be at the bakery right now. Hehe~ I wonder what interesting things might happen?”
