Chapter Twenty-Two: Solar Eclipse Society and Urban Legends Chat Group
“Shuo E, what exactly is that Urban Legends Chat Group?”
As they were about to reach the South Suburb Slaughterhouse, Miss Rabbit could no longer resist asking the man accompanying her this question.
She knew that her relationship with the Solar Eclipse Society was merely one of cooperation, and she shouldn’t inquire too deeply into their internal matters.
However, she was very curious about this organization, which, despite its short history, had made the Solar Eclipse Society resort to letting a human handle dangerous ghostly objects to prevent them from recruiting new members.
Before Mu Se was targeted and fell into a deep sleep, she had never even heard of such an organization’s existence.

“If it’s unattainable, why bother with them?” Miss Rabbit replied dismissively.
“They… are obstructing the Black Sun from spreading its blessings, the Council’s exact words,” Shuo E said, as a flicker of agitation and madness danced in his murky, dull eyes.
“Got it! So they’re competing for members with you?” Miss Rabbit said, curling her lips.
Every organization needs to continuously bring in fresh bl**d to sustain itself, and the Solar Eclipse Society was no exception, even if their usual methods weren’t very reputable.
“Are they allied with the Siye Society?”
“No.”
“Then they must be similar to you?”
“Not really.”
Suddenly accelerating, Shuo E leaped down a steep slope and landed at the periphery of the South Suburb Slaughterhouse.
After searching the area, he arrived at the sealing site and untied a ceramic pot of deep black glaze that he had been carrying on his back.
Inside the pot, something alive squirmed along the inner walls, producing a series of thick, slippery sounds, occasionally accompanied by a slow, deep, almost dying human-like sigh.
As Shuo E unbound the talisman rope from the pot, Miss Rabbit’s eyes subtly filled with undeniable disgust, and she silently backed away.
The Nameless Gu Leader, an object that straddled the line between Gu and urban legends and was used to forcefully break seals, was rather ominous. A careless bite could lead to significant trouble.
“Bang!”
After untying the talisman rope, Shuo E slapped away the mud-sealed lid of the pot, reached inside, and grabbed a chain. With a “clatter,” he pulled out a head covered in bizarre, dark green inscriptions, emitting a rich fragrance mixed with the stench of bl**d.
The rusty chain, made of unknown materials, was entwined with a colorful variety of odd insects that crawled rapidly through the gaps of hair and the bloody holes where eyes and ears once were.
Yet, even in that state, it seemed to be alive, with muscles and bl**d vessels hanging from the severed neck as if it were breathing, rhythmically squirming.
Shuo E carried the Nameless Gu Leader to a manhole cover hidden in the grass, “DUANG!” He smashed the cover with a kick, muttered a few incantations, and suddenly tightened the chain, infusing it with spirit energy.
As the spirit energy surged, the rust on the chain peeled away piece by piece, and tiny crimson characters appeared on its surface. Then with a soft “ding!”, the chain suddenly shattered and turned to dust.
Light as a feather, the Nameless Gu Leader silently fell into the underground cellar.
“Zzz——!”
In the silence, a soft sound like acid corroding metal came from the cellar. Moments later, accompanied by a violent tremor in the ground, the manhole erupted with silver arcs of electricity and sparks, thick smoke billowing upward.
Within the smoke, the Nameless Gu Leader that had broken the seal “whooshed!” out of the cellar, ready to escape, but was quickly enveloped by Shuo E, who covered it with the pot, sealing it with the lid and rapidly wrapped it in talisman ropes, imprisoning it once more.
“Alright, on to the next spot.”
Shuo E said to Miss Rabbit, lifting the pot and preparing to head to the next sealing location when an unusual wave of spirit energy suddenly intruded into his perception.
In the next moment.
“Whoosh——!”
A shadow descended from the sky, landing steadily as the black cloak lifted by the strong wind slowly fell, concealing two legs clad in flip-flops.
The suddenly appearing tall, thin man wore a languid smile on his listless face. “Hey, pretty boy, you might have to stay here for a while!”
Shuo E glanced at the silly skull badge on the man’s chest, his expression darkening as he turned to give Miss Rabbit a look.
Miss Rabbit understood and nodded slightly; her tongue licked across her bright red lips as she sneered, “Got it, I’ll take care of this. It’s just the right opportunity to stretch my legs and digest.”
Having procured the ‘Purifying Elixir’ from the Ghost Market and finally dispelled its side effects, she had consumed the core of the accumulated urban legends in her hands and was looking for a suitable opponent to test her restored strength.
Shuo E shot a quick glance at Miss Rabbit, suddenly accelerated, leaped several meters forward, and dashed towards the next sealing site. The tall, thin man was about to stop him when he heard a feminine shout from the side.
“Your opponent is here!”
Upon her shout, a crowbar slid silently from her sleeve into Miss Rabbit’s palm. In the instant she grasped the crowbar, she exerted force through her toes. With a loud “bang!”, the ground cracked, and in the blink of an eye, she had already moved in front of the thin man, swinging the crowbar down powerfully.
“Whoosh——!”
The crowbar, enveloped in a crimson flame, rushed toward him. The thin man hurriedly crouched low and rolled back to dodge, but then stumbled and fell to the ground.
Although his dodging posture was somewhat clumsy, there was no sign of panic on his face. He looked up at Miss Rabbit, who held the crowbar and came on strong, suddenly curling the corners of his lips.
“Here? How about some spicy pictures?”
Miss Rabbit, “???”.
The strange words from the thin man entered her ears, and her mind suddenly filled with many question marks, causing her steps to falter for a moment.
Just as she snapped back to her senses and was about to advance again, she suddenly heard the thin man lightly call out.
“HXD, GKD!”
In the next moment, a daze washed over her. Colorful blocks flashed one after another, as if a curtain had been drawn back, revealing scene after scene of astonishingly risqué images, accompanied by a chorus of heavy breaths echoing in her ears.
“AWSL!”, “Charge! Everything is fair game!”, “My brother says he threw up!” “Beautiful girl, wanna be a pair?”, “Here? Wanna see legs?”…
The thin man’s words poured into Miss Rabbit’s ears like a rapid-fire weapon, and in an instant, it was as if two wicked little demons were playing a hundred consecutive films in her mind, all filled with scenes that made her pulse race.
Unconsciously, her eyes began to glaze over, her fair cheeks tinged with a flush, her nostrils flared, and her breathing grew quick.
When she looked back at the thin man, an odd impulse surged within her.
“Like… Like…”
Unintentionally, she spoke these words. Miss Rabbit shuddered as if her body was electrocuted, turning abruptly around, her eyes narrowing with growing murderous intent, her lips curling back to reveal razor-sharp white teeth as she roared.
“Roar——! That’s so disgusting, I absolutely have to k*ll you today!”
She had fought with urban legends and spiritual ability users skilled in mental attacks before, but she had never encountered something so perverse. If she didn’t end it quickly, there could be significant trouble.
“How to do it? What position?” the thin man’s voice drifted lazily.
“d*mn! Just d*e already!”
Miss Rabbit cursed before instantly unleashing her spirit energy to the fullest. A layer of scarlet flames enveloped her slender, alluring body, and the surrounding weeds ignited as they were swept by the red flames, instantly turning a large area to a dry yellow.
The rapid expansion of spirit energy exploded, generating a thunderous crack as Miss Rabbit’s figure twisted and suddenly vanished from her original spot, reappearing out of nowhere behind the incessantly talking thin man. Her face broke into a sinister smile as she gripped the crowbar tightly, slamming it down.

“Boom——! Boom——! Boom——!”
As Shuo E proceeded ahead, he suddenly heard a loud noise from behind and sensed Miss Rabbit’s spirit energy skyrocketing. His footsteps paused briefly as he turned to look in the direction of the sound.
He saw dirt and rocks flying up amid the thundering explosions, sending plumes of smoke rising in the distance.
Is the enemy very strong? Why suddenly go all out? Shuo E wondered to himself, focusing his mind and hastening his steps toward the next sealing site.
Upon reaching the sealing location, just as he lifted the manhole cover and tossed the Nameless Gu Leader into the cellar, Shuo E heard a sinister cat’s meow from behind.
“Meow——!”
He paused, and abruptly turned back, seeing a tortoiseshell cat sitting prettily in the middle of the road, tilting its head and curiously gazing at him with big, watery eyes, looking utterly harmless.
Such a cute little life, how could he easily let it go after stumbling into this place?
He chuckled coldly, a cruel, bloodthirsty light flashing in his eyes, pointing a hand in the direction of the tortoiseshell cat, sending out an invisible ripple through the air.
“Puff——!”
Dozens of sharp bone spikes suddenly appeared, like ferocious beasts snapping their jaws, tearing through the tortoiseshell cat’s body.
bl**d-splattered chunks of flesh flew everywhere, the small head landing on the ground, staring with dilated pupils in a way that felt eerily unsettling.
Looking at those eyes, Shuo E furrowed his brows slightly. No matter from which angle he looked, it felt as if they were staring at him.
As if they were silently questioning him, asking him…
Why did you hurt me for no reason?
The moment that thought flashed through his mind, a black mist suddenly surged from the scattered chunks of flesh on the ground.
Wrapped in the mist, the flesh writhed, split, and proliferated, turning into a large group of wild cats in just a few breaths.
“Whoosh——! Whoosh——!”
The wild cats arched their backs, mouths open, emitting a series of deep growls.
The growls merged together and drilled into Shuo E’s ears, gradually transforming into sharp, piercing noise. Amid the noise, he heard an ethereal voice of a girl questioning him.
“Hey! Why did you hurt me?”
In the next moment, a girl with cat ears, engulfed in black mist and resembling a vengeful spirit, emerged from the darkness, her eyes glowing a fierce crimson.
Sensing the powerful, twisted, chaotic spirit energy emanating from the cat-eared girl, fervent excitement danced in Shuo E’s eyes.
The members of the Urban Legends Chat Group were stronger than he had imagined, which thrilled him.
