A mountain of bones and corpses piled high.
The high-level demons clearly did not anticipate the resilience of the Modo army; the cannon fodder, which had been winning effortlessly, was unable to penetrate the enemy’s defenses.
The war of attrition had failed.
This was a blow to the demons’ morale, as they had successfully used cannon fodder to wear down a portion of the enemy’s main force during previous battles. But now, the enemy before them had only consumed a fraction of their golems, and in the rear, there were still numerous golems, leaving them uncertain about how many lives would be lost to completely crush the enemy.
“Frenzied Combat Demon, attack!”
“Skeletons, advance!”
Orcus showed no concern for the complete depletion of over a hundred thousand cannon fodder; he gripped his scepter and gazed at the unmoving Soren, then waved his hand to initiate the second wave of attrition.
In the Bottomless Abyss, even mid-level demons were mere cannon fodder.
Just slightly higher-grade cannon fodder.
Orcus had plenty of cannon fodder and did not believe that the enemy could withstand all the attacks from his forces.
Corpse Demons, Ghouls, Skeleton Warriors, and some Death Knights joined the battlefield, while on the other side, the core cannon fodder for the Blood War, including the Frenzied Demons and Frenzied Combat Demons, boasted astonishing power and massive size, enough to crush the enemy, with their tenacious vitality capable of breaking through any defense.
Roar!
The roaring of the Frenzied Combat Demons resonated.
Within Soren’s defenses, many officers began issuing orders. Having experienced the Battle Flag Trial, they understood one thing: relying solely on the Golem Legion would not be enough to stop all the Frenzied Combat Demons.
—— “Iron Golems, enter combat mode!”
A heavier sound of footsteps echoed as several Iron Golems appeared at the forefront of the defenses.
Their numbers were not large; even Modo City had only over sixteen hundred of them, but their combat power was considerably strong. Each Iron Golem alone was a mini boss-level threat.
The Iron Golems were mixed with Stone Golems to form the defense line.
At this moment, Grey Dwarf shield warriors also joined the battle, spread out across the flanks to provide cover, while some heavy-armored warriors wielding swords dispersed, and Assassins and Wanderers slipped into the shadows, preparing to eliminate the demons that breached the defenses.
The charge of the Rampaging Demons and Frenzied Combat Demons was unstoppable.
These terrifying demons collided head-on with the Modo City’s Golem Legion and proved to be equally matched. They crushed the foremost Clay Golems, were temporarily held up by the Stone Golems, and a few broke through the Iron Golem defenses, but soon faced the rock-solid Grey Dwarf shield warriors.
“Now Saruman can strike!”
The voice of the High Priest rang out, and soon Saruman scattered a mass of crystalline shards, which soared through the wind, causing the plants on the ground to grow wildly upon contact.
Countless vines shot up from the ground!
An enormous area entanglement spell enveloped the battlefield, and the vines possessed a terrifying trait; they consumed flesh and blood to grow stronger, swiftly halting the footsteps of the demon army.

The power above legend finally began to take action, prompting one Balroth Demon to stir, but upon seeing Soren’s presence in the rear, it quickly abandoned all thoughts. Only Orcus could contend with Soren; everyone else would be giving away their heads in his presence.
The Lich at the back remained motionless, as those demons dared not act recklessly!
The brutal battle continued.
Golems fell to the demons’ attacks, and some warriors from Modo City began to perish. When Serpent Demons entered the fray, the Giant glanced toward the distance, and after receiving her signal, roared angrily, leading a group of heavily armored warriors into battle.
The weighty anchor, surpassing half a ton, was swung by the Giant with formidable force, causing even the Frenzied Combat Demons that were struck to be severely injured!
This fresh force rapidly broke through the demons before them, while also holding back the Serpent Demons outside the defenses. The Priests began to cast divine techniques; due to Soren’s domain, their number of spells significantly increased, and healing spells emerged continuously, leading to a noticeable disparity in casualties among the enemy compared to Modo City.
“Balroth Demon, Assassin Demon, Tempt Demon, Six-armed Serpent Demon! Attack!”
Huge dark shadows appeared in the sky as the Balroth Demon let out an excited roar, unfurling its massive demon wings to launch an offensive toward this side.
However…
At that moment, a loud dragon’s roar echoed.
An adult Shadow Dragon led a squadron of Bipedal Wyverns flying toward these demons; dragons are the rulers of the skies, and even high-level demons dare not engage them in mid-air due to the enormous difference in size.
Reinforcements from the Shadow Plane had finally arrived.
Soren had also stationed part of his forces in the Shadow Plane, including an adult Shadow Dragon.
“Go!”
Vivian clapped her hands, and immediately a massive, almost unnatural Bipedal Dragon appeared; bestowed with divinity by Vivian, it appeared as large as an ancient dragon, and the sky was filled with cries as one demon after another plummeted to the ground.
“The Witch Legion, prepare for battle.”
As the Necromancers began to cast spells, Gloria’s Witch Legion also entered battle readiness.
The enemy’s offensive grew increasingly fierce.
Soren slightly narrowed his eyes, observing Orcus in the rear; he was waiting for the other party to strike, as if no one could stop Soren. Similarly, there were very few capable of contending with Orcus on Soren’s side; even Vivian and Lilian were in a bit of danger.
Orcus remained unmoving, and Soren could not act hastily!
“Diamond Golems, advance!”
The core fighting force of Modo City finally took action. Under Gloria’s command, over a hundred Diamond Golems appeared on the battlefield.
Their colossal size exerted tremendous pressure on the demons!
These Diamond Golems were the strongest army amassed by Soren; the diamonds that rained down upon them were countless. Each Diamond Golem possessed legendary combat power, pushing their way into the demon army, where only those high-level demons could obstruct their movement.
Orcus finally began to lose his composure.
Skeleton Knights began to attack; the Lich’s figure flickered, Blood Giants rushed in, and ancient mummies emerged.
The most powerful undead began to take action.
Meanwhile, on the Modo City side, Gloria, the Fallen Witch, Vivian, Alice, and others also began to act, casting spells upon themselves, as only they could stop these terrifying beings.
Orcus finally moved.
He gripped his massive black skeletal scepter and stepped forward.
Soren fixed his gaze upon him, his form instantaneously disappearing from sight. In the center of the battlefield, a vacuum area appeared oddly, and neither the Modo City army nor the Abyss army dared to approach, for this was a god-level battle, with both Soren and Orcus possessing terrifying strength surpassing that of legends!
The cold wind howled.
It was unclear when the surrounding chill had grown more pronounced, as tiny crystalline snowflakes fell from the sky.
