Chapter 1253: Land of the Void’s Origins
After resolving the situation in the Main World, I found myself looking forward to the grand event of the “Human Cultivation Restart.”
Leaving two Life Clones in the Main World was actually enough. Teacher Ji has made some progress in the research of the Great Spellbook, and even though our time together hasn’t been long, I’ve realized that she doesn’t prefer to rely on me to solve problems directly.
This feeling is quite peculiar, as if… a student who is generally good at learning wants to solve a difficult problem, and sits next to someone who is better than her, capable of teaching her, yet she doesn’t wish for anyone to help her too much.
So I ultimately let go; perhaps leaving a Life Clone here is the best option.
Teacher Ji herself is a witch from the Main World, and perhaps even she hasn’t realized that as she immerses herself in this experiment, the overall fortune of the Main World is being pushed forward.
The concept connected with fortune isn’t limited to just the Child of Fortune.
The Child of Fortune is a special case that only appears when a world decides to instigate a script-level push of grand events.
It can be considered as an all-in bet, or a fight with no way out.
However, for most of the time, a world seldom experiences such circumstances.
They are primarily pushed by fortune instead.
After I decided to leave the experiment of the Great Void Council Technique, I could sense the push from the Main World gradually declining, which is quite normal.
I even felt a “retention” coming from the Main World, but I did not see the Main World Consciousness again.
If the Main World Consciousness itself came to retain me, perhaps I would genuinely follow the First Elder’s suggestion and complete this experiment before joining the “Human Cultivation” grand event halfway through.
However, the Main World clearly has its considerations.
Time is trivial to a world; since this event is destined to occur, then it can be left to time to ferment.
As for the other Life Clone, it was merely a side benefit.
After a brief understanding, I discovered that most of the witches participating in the Perfect Awakening Experiment would head to the Human Cultivation Conference.
This means that the scale of the perfect being experiment left in the Main World is basically non-existent, with only some extraordinary-level experiments ongoing in the Witch Academy, mostly belonging to the exploratory phase.
This reflects the strong allure of the Human Cultivation Conference; any capable witch would want to participate, even if just to gain experience, as it’s a rare opportunity.
This immediately drew the attention away from the void toward the Main World, but for the Main World that is to develop, it’s merely a change that has both advantages and disadvantages.
Many witches have their own means to go.
The most convenient way, of course, is to return to the Witch Grand Library and pay to be sent by the Primordial Witch.
The downside is that the Primordial Witch’s charges are not cheap.
The decision to choose this method mainly stems from the special nature of the place we are heading to.
It is referred to as the “Land of the Void’s Origins” in the void, and the Primordial Witch is very familiar with it; there are certainly traces of witches there, making it convenient for her to locate.
If any witch casually reports a position in the void, the Primordial Witch may not necessarily send them; even if she could send, the charge would be astronomical, potentially draining the magic source of an old Holy Realm Witch.
Returning to the Land of the Void’s Origins, this location does not belong to the domain of the Earth Vein God Emperor, one of the Nine Monarchs of the Void; it does not belong to any force.
Instead, it is a peculiar site in the void, akin to a unique scenic area controlled by a World Master.
It is called the Land of Origins because it gathers an exceptional amount of void earth veins.
Moreover, it often witnesses the birth and nurturing of earth vein life.
The peculiar nature of this place is distinct from the Main World, which relies on the main trunk of void earth veins.
If the Main World is a world based on the trunk of void earth veins, continually developing outward, forming core, expanding, and even frontline realms, and there are also void domains linked to the Main World,
then the Land of the Void’s Origins is naturally a massive world cluster comparable to the Main World.
In a sense, it can be likened to a developed Main World, but there are no distinctions such as core and expanding realms; just a vast area relying on intertwined void earth veins, giving birth to a world cluster.
It is also currently the largest known world cluster in the endless void.
These world clusters resemble parallel connections of small worlds, lacking the independent and unified world consciousness like that of the Main World.
Although this place is not occupied by the Earth Vein God Emperor, it enjoys the protection of the earth vein life clusters due to their vastness.
The other Eight Monarchs of the Void also give that Earth Vein God Emperor some face.
Of course, the main point is that the power of this Land of the Void’s Origins is also overwhelming.
Earth vein life is favored by the void, gathers earth vein information, and many earth vein beings are almost “born knowing.” Coupled with the attention of the Earth Vein God Emperor, this is arguably the place with the highest average combat power in the void.
Naturally, the various forces of the Land of the Void’s Origins are absolutely in support of the Human Cultivation Restart led by the Earth Vein God Emperor.
After all, if this matter truly succeeds, it would also be a tremendous benefit for the Land of the Void’s Origins, even potentially making it a holy land for human cultivation in the void later on.
More importantly, it’s for the Earth Vein God Emperor, providing support to this “Benefactor Emperor” brings immense glory!
For this reason, the Land of the Void’s Origins has even put forward half of the new world as the experimental ground for this grand event.
As for whether those new worlds think this is an honor… well, I can’t say.
But no one has any objections.
This behavior is similar to chicken farms in human society; excessive concern holds no meaning, life is not noble, and neither is the world.
There aren’t many witches accompanying me.
Principal Mei naturally has to remain in the Main World to oversee things; most of the Forging Elders will go, only a few elders who are not interested in human cultivation will stay in the Main World.
There are also some friends I know, some of whom have already set off and left the Main World.
It’s only me, who is not very well-informed, who has dragged on to now.
After settling matters in the Main World, we directly returned to the Witch Grand Library.
Being directly welcomed by the Primordial Power upon returning to the Witch Grand Library felt quite magical.
I must say, the Primordial Witch is quite patient; when I think about how many witch clones she has, it doesn’t seem so busy after dividing the work.
Knock, knock, knock—!
“Pay up.”
With the sound of fingers tapping on the surface echoing, those words directly drew the attention of many witches.
“Eh?! Is that Sister Lilith?!”
The witches turned to the voice of Luo Meiao and saw the familiar reception desk; however, the figure sitting behind was not the Primordial Witch Lilith they used to have in mind.
Instead, it was a petite figure resembling a baby!
“Hmm? So many witches, are you all going for a team-building exercise?” The Primordial Witch, sitting on a specially designed high office chair, lifted her head and scanned the circle of witches before speaking.
“Sort of?” I stepped forward, providing the corresponding magic source as a fee for returning to the Witch Grand Library.
There’s no doubt that this Primordial Witch, who came to welcome us, is the one who received me.
Only she has this Fool Dream Form.
“Quick and easy—just how I like to deal with witches who don’t regard magic sources as money.”
The other witches were used to the greedy nature of the Primordial Witch; or rather, this is the Primordial Witch they are familiar with.
The Forging Elders had either witnessed some of my extraordinary feats of ascension or heard tales of them, so they promptly recalled that I had turned the Primordial Witch’s clone into the unique Fool Dream.
Seeing it firsthand now at the Grand Library is indeed fascinating.
The newly arrived Luo Meiao, Elia Starry, and Veronica the Succubus are experiencing this for the first time.
However, having seen Fool Dream before, Elia and Veronica still found the smallest Luo Meiao asking first about their confusion.
After receiving a magic source, the Primordial Witch symbolically explained why she had transformed like that.
Although Luo Meiao had arrived in the Main World quite early, back during the time when the restoration of the Main World was happening, she had secretly made her way to the expanding realm and ran into me while I was conducting my self-awakening body cultivation experiment.
This naturally talented witch, a genius interested in self-awakening body cultivation, ultimately decided to follow along. If she hadn’t suddenly come over, I might have forgotten about that witch.
(Chapter 1141)
However, she is still a friend with whom I have had a shallow connection, and she is one of those rare body cultivation witches interested in self-awakening. Bringing her along is no trouble at all.
But let’s get back to the main subject; you intend to go to the Land of the Void’s Origins?
Exactly, so this time we will trouble the Primordial Witch again.
I nodded and spoke.
No trouble at all, just provide the payment.
Fair enough, I asked, “How do you charge?”
One hundred million magic sources per trip.
The Primordial Witch stated, revealing a staggering fee.
?
What? Are you complaining it’s too expensive?
Though it’s not a big deal for me, this single transfer consumes the power of a Holy Realm powerhouse, which is indeed terrifying.
Is this dynamic pricing, or point-to-point delivery? If it were before, one hundred million wouldn’t be enough; you don’t know how far the Grand Library is from that Land of Origins. If it weren’t for the witches over there helping with the location, the power I would expend taking you there by hand would be even more.
It certainly isn’t too much; one hundred million is more of a threshold indicating that the Primordial Witch thinks that only seasoned Holy Realm witches are qualified to participate in this matter.
At this time, the First Elder stepped up to explain.
While one hundred million sounds daunting, for a Holy Realm witch, it’s merely the contributing magic source of one domain.
For a Holy Realm witch, once they master one field order, they will have a second; it’s merely a matter of accumulation.
Exactly—so it’s a great deal. You understand how challenging it is to traverse the void for delivery; this is something that can’t be accomplished even with money. If you want to head directly through the void, that’s also possible; only God knows how many years it would take, based on my experience… at least several decades.
The Primordial Witch seized the opportunity to speak to me, as if afraid that I wouldn’t pay her and would go myself.
Just expressing an observation; it seems ordinary witches also face significant costs for venturing into the void.
Of course, the cost is substantial. Do you think witches without foundational power have the qualifications to wander freely in the void? Whatever ability corresponds to what they do; I won’t coddle them. The Primordial Witch lectured.
I completely understand this point; I just realized it now.
Previously, I had been thinking about how the Witch Race has such diligent models like the Primordial Witch, but looking from this perspective… those witches who roam outside are precisely the ones that the Primordial Witch finds it easier to manage.
In fact, the fees for returning to the Main World from the Witch Grand Library are not cheap either; I had overlooked this due to the void transfer technique linking to the Main World.
And even the highly cost-effective void transfer technique requires a massive amount of resources for each transfer. However, during that period, most of these costs were covered by the Main World.
After all, at that time, the Main World really needed many witches for construction.
“Xiao Han, you don’t need to bear the expense; after all, you’ve lived long enough, and magic sources don’t mean much to us.”
“It’s fine, don’t underestimate infinite magic.”
As I said this, I activated the Great Knowledge Tree, followed by the Universal Spell Shelf at any time.
The spell books in the Universal Spell Shelf that have been made into spell fields each start at a minimum of one hundred million magic sources.
“Xiao Han, do you think the Universal Spell Shelf is a portable wallet?” Veronica couldn’t help but express her surprise as she watched me pull out magic sources from the Universal Spell Shelf, which had condensed into a self-circulating field.
“You could say that… um, that’s not wrong.” I laughed in response; I found her analogy unexpectedly amusing.
“This time it’s genuinely convenient, unlike last time, where so many magic sources weren’t compressed.” The Primordial Witch also happily spoke, receiving these magic sources, which included those from the spell field directly.
“Do I need to return these spell books to you?”
“No need, I can conjure them anytime.” I said generously.
After all, the spell books carrying these magic sources are mostly basic spells like the Fireball Spell.
“Thank you for your patronage~”
As if she had received extra goodies, the Primordial Witch’s attitude suddenly became very warm.
“As a one-time purchase of such a large amount of gift items, I also have a suggestion for you: be careful when you reach the Land of Origins. Is this your first time leaving the Main World so far? In the endless void, any named place is not simple.”
