Four Hundred and Forty-Sixth Chapter – Inventory
North Bank of Conquer Sea, Trua.
During the night in Trua, Doro took advantage of the darkness to eliminate the Dark Gold Society’s base in Bengochiel, defeating and killing their leader, Bengochiel. She quickly gathered his equipment and turned his body into a zombie puppet, placing him inside a magic box before swiftly evacuating before the official extraordinary organization in Trua arrived. Thanks to her ability to levitate using magnetic forces, Doro’s personal mobility had greatly increased. Soon, she completely detached herself from the battlefield.
After leaving the dangerous area, Doro switched to her zombie horse and rapidly departed. Along the way, she encountered a fire brigade carriage heading towards a burning manor. In the distance, flames could be seen. The Dark Gold Society’s base was burning fiercely, but fortunately, the main building was inside the courtyard, so the fire wouldn’t spread.
Soon, Doro rode her zombie horse back to the vicinity of her inn. After putting away the zombie horse and removing her black robe, she entered the inn and quickly returned to her room. Once seated, her first action was to take out her “Navigation of the Literary Sea,” flip to Beverly’s communication page, and begin writing with a pen:
“The commission you gave me has been completed.”
After finishing the message, Doro sat still waiting patiently. Not long after, Beverly’s response appeared again. Clearly, she had been waiting for Doro’s message, as clockwork automatons don’t need sleep.
“Ah… It’s already done? So soon. Although I knew you could do it, this speed is still beyond my expectations. How much damage did they suffer?”
“I have eliminated their base. Four black earths and one white chalk are gone. Unfortunately, the base caught fire during the battle and was destroyed. The puppets inside were released, but there wasn’t time to search through what was left. Most likely, everything was burned down. Doro wrote these words on the page, briefly summarizing her battle situation to Beverly, who responded quickly.
“A stone demon… four wall-crossers. This is roughly the main configuration of the Dark Gold Society in a large city. Besides some stragglers, there shouldn’t be any of them left in Trua now.
“It’s a pity the base was destroyed, but it doesn’t matter. Generally, they would promptly transfer most of the extraordinary resources they gather. Therefore, there probably isn’t much left at the base. I didn’t expect you to retrieve anything; mainly, we wanted to eliminate them and teach them a lesson.”
Beverly responded on the page like this. After reading it, Doro immediately picked up her pen and continued writing.
“So, when will you give me the reward you promised?”
“Don’t worry about that. Since you’ve completed our commission, your reward is guaranteed. By the way, do you have any proof of the outcome?”
“I brought back the corpse of the leading stone demon. Shouldn’t that be enough proof?” Doro replied directly, thinking she was fortunate to bring back the corpse. New words soon appeared on the page.
“A stone demon’s corpse? That should be sufficient. Stay in Trua for two more days. Two days later, someone from us will come over. You can confirm the corpse then.”
“Two days? Sure, I’ll wait here. Oh, while you’re sending someone over, can you bring me two manuals on ‘Stone’? Consider it a purchase.”
Doro continued writing to Beverly. This direct confrontation had greatly depleted her spirituality, so she needed to replenish it. Since she couldn’t go to another city right now, she directly asked if the Artisan Guild could bring some manuals.

Then, Doro began inventorying the spoils she obtained from Bengochiel. There were quite a few items: a ring, a wand, several sigils, some cash, a few spirit storage items, and a handgun. She took each item out of the magic box and placed them on the desk. Using two points of lamp energy, she performed a concise ceremony to appraise everything.
First, the ring. After inspecting it, Doro realized she had seen this before. It wasn’t an extraordinary item but a small mechanism. The ring could hide storage items and sigils. In emergencies, one could quickly activate the hidden sigil by touching the ring. Doro had seen this gadget on another wall-crosser killer named Kim.
The sigil inside Bengochiel’s ring was already ashes, indicating he had used it in previous battles. The storage item was a small piece of dried meat, clearly a spent ‘Cup’ essence storage item. Seeing this, Doro confirmed that it must have contained a bl**d-Eating card, which Bengochiel used for temporary boosts.
“Another convenient buff item, and mostly bl**d-Eating buffs. bl**d-Eating isn’t hard to obtain and is very useful. Anyone with some skill in the Secret World should always have it. A first-tier ‘Cup’’s strength and life force are important for many professions that don’t involve spirits or ‘Cups’.”
