Chapter 4: Back but Now a Girl
“The TV’s been taken by Mom, Dad, and Big Brother, so I’m bored and had to come find you, Second Brother.”
With that, Xia Ling plopped down on Xia Yu’s bed without a care in the world, tilting her cute little head to stare at Xia Yu. She then teased, “Second Brother, half a year gone, and you’ve gotten even prettier.”
Before, Xia Yu wouldn’t have thought much of this kind of joke from Xia Ling. But now, it really startled Xia Yu. Xia Yu was most afraid of her family noticing any differences in her.
Seeing Xia Yu in a daze, Xia Ling couldn’t help but pinch Xia Yu’s cheek: “Second Brother, what’s up? What are you thinking about?”
“Oh? Nothing really. Say, it’s getting late—maybe you should go back and get some sleep.”
Xia Yu immediately dismissed Xia Ling, worried about her observant twin sister finding out more.
“No way! It’s only eight o’clock, Second Brother. Are you going to sleep already? Why so early? You don’t have anything planned for tomorrow…”
But Xia Yu pushed Xia Ling out the door and locked it behind her, saying, “Xiao Ling, I’m hitting the hay now. Goodnight!”
“Okay…Goodnight, Second Brother. See you tomorrow.” Xia Ling walked away, feeling dejected. She couldn’t shake the feeling that her Second Brother seemed different these days.
As Xia Ling walked away, Xia Yu finally sighed in relief, falling back onto her bed. She never imagined she’d be back.
Just, she wasn’t a boy anymore when she returned. The thought of her ‘down there’ being gone, needing to squat like a girl to pee, made Xia Yu feel defeated and scared.
She used to dream of becoming a manly, strong figure, but now… That part was gone; she was no longer a male.
Sighing in disappointment, Xia Yu didn’t know what the future held. For now, she just wished her family wouldn’t notice her transformation. Otherwise, they might disown her.
Soon, Xia Yu fell asleep after changing into her pajamas. She had a particularly beautiful dream that night. She dreamed she was a man, growing up and marrying a stunning wife. Her family respected her.
But as with all dreams, it shattered when she woke up.
The next morning, Xia Yu’s stomach felt swollen, signaling she needed to relieve herself. She got up, went to the bathroom, washed her face, and brushed her teeth. She felt recharged; no need for a doze-off.
In the bathroom, Xia Yu deftly undid her pants and squatted to urinate. Then, she used two squares of toilet paper to clean up and stood back up.
These skills were taught by the white-coat ladies. They said some odd things too, like how girls need to take care of themselves. Xia Yu found it laughable since she considered herself a crossdresser, not a girl.
Yet, she remembered their advice because she knew wet underpants weren’t comfy.
Next, Xia Yu washed her face and brushed her teeth, staring at herself in the mirror. She looked increasingly girly and felt both embarrassed and uncomfortable.
She figured it was due to her long locks that made her appear feminine. Perhaps cutting them would help.
Gradually, Xia Yu developed a mind to get a haircut.
