### Chapter 27: Xia Yu and Xia Ling’s Promise
“Mm, Second Brother, how about we become sisters from now on? I’ll be the older sister and you can be the younger sister. What do you think?”
With that said, Xia Ling scooted closer to Xia Yu and suddenly wrapped her arms around Xia Yu’s arm. Actually, she had been wanting to do this for a long time, and now that she’d thought it through, she just went ahead and did it.
Being hugged so intimately by her younger sister, Xia Yu was flattered beyond belief. Perhaps due to lingering male thoughts, she blushed and shyly replied, “W-Well, but… I’m a guy. How could I be your sister? Wouldn’t it make more sense for us to be siblings? Plus, I’m older than you!”
Hearing this, Xia Ling immediately pouted, “But you don’t have _that_ anymore, right? So are you even still a guy? And guys don’t get periods either! Besides, we were born just seconds apart. I’ve been a girl longer than you, so I totally have the right to be your older sister! Not to mention, didn’t I help you when you got your period?”
“This…” Xia Yu was speechless, and in truth, Xia Ling’s argument made perfect sense.
Seeing Xia Yu’s hesitation, Xia Ling quickly added, “Come on, little sister. If it makes you feel better, I’ll keep calling you Second Brother around others. When we’re alone, you can call me older sister. It’s not weird or anything, is it?”
Since Xia Ling had already given in so much, Xia Yu had no reason to refuse. Instead, she nodded shyly and let out a cute “Mmm～”
“Wow, my little sister is so adorable! Come here and let your big sis hug you~”
Eagerly pulling Xia Yu closer, Xia Ling enveloped her in a warm embrace. Maybe it’s because girls develop earlier than boys, because Xia Ling was already half a head taller than Xia Yu before this all started. Now, their height difference was exactly the same, making Xia Ling look like the older sister with her petite face and taller stature.
Xia Ling didn’t think Xia Yu was gross at all, not even after learning about her experiments. She had just been worried about rumors getting in the way before, but now that she had resolved her concerns, she felt perfectly fine about it.
Even though Xia Yu was frozen in place, unsure of Xia Ling’s true feelings, she was happy as long as Xia Ling didn’t push her away. After all, if Xia Ling mistook her movement for something improper, things could get awkward.
Similarly, Xia Ling was unsure of Xia Yu’s feelings too, but she had always wanted a real sister to play with, and now her wish had come true.
Thus, Xia Ling and Xia Yu, the two sisters, spent the afternoon cuddling on the second floor while watching TV and chatting. This strengthened their bond significantly, thanks to Xia Ling not having to worry about any old-fashioned etiquette regarding brothers and sisters.
At 5:30 PM when it was time for Xia Yu to go downstairs and help with the household chores, Xia Ling was left feeling a bit lonely by herself on the second floor.
So… after Xia Yu left, Xia Ling turned off the TV and went downstairs to continue her search for her new little sister to play with.
