Chapter 34

Chapter 34: Hair Tying

In the bathroom, Xia Yu was brushing her teeth while staring at herself in the mirror. She realized that there was nothing boyish about her anymore. No wonder Xia Ling loved to call her “younger sister” all the time!

Thanks to the rapid hair growth common in kids, after being captured for over half a year, Xia Yu’s hair had grown quite long—not quite to her waist, but definitely shoulder length.

Because of this, Xia Yu, who didn’t know how to tie her hair up, was constantly troubled by her long locks. Every time she moved, her hair would fall across her face, leaving her with a ticklish sensation and making her contemplate a haircut more than once.

While Xia Yu was halfway through brushing her teeth, Xia Ling walked into the bathroom to wash up as well. Upon seeing Xia Yu’s wild mane, Xia Ling couldn’t help but call out, “Younger sister, come to my room after you’re done washing up~”

“Mm~”

Although she had no clue why Xia Ling wanted her, the foam in her mouth made it impractical to talk much, so Xia Yu just habitually agreed.

Once they were done washing up, Xia Yu obediently headed to Xia Ling’s room to wait for her. For some reason, a vague sense of foreboding washed over her.

In a short while, Xia Ling returned, and upon seeing Xia Yu sitting on the edge of her bed, she said, “Younger sister, come sit here~”

With that, Xia Ling pointed to the stool in front of her vanity. Her intention was clear—she wanted Xia Yu to take a seat.

Curious about what Xia Ling was up to, Xia Yu, being the good little sister she was, sat down obediently in front of the vanity, looking like a perfect little angel.

Seeing this, Xia Ling kept quiet and immediately reached for a comb to start brushing Xia Yu’s hair because she’d wanted to do this for ages.

Xia Yu felt a bit strange about her little sister styling her hair, but she didn’t resist. Instead, she enjoyed it, as the gentle combing felt surprisingly nice.

Xia Yu’s hair was in great condition—not dry or frizzy—so, thanks to Xia Ling’s combing, her hair quickly transformed into a sleek and smooth look.

After putting down the comb, Xia Ling opened a cabinet in front of her vanity. Xia Yu curiously peeked inside and discovered it was filled with an array of adorable hair accessories.

“Younger sister, pick a hair tie! I’ll help you tie your hair. Having such long hair just hanging down must be uncomfortable, right?”

Upon hearing Xia Ling’s words, Xia Yu thought about how tying her hair up would make her look even more like a girl. But, yes, her hair felt awkwardly loose as it fell everywhere, so after much deliberation, Xia Yu made a decision—she would tie it up!

She recalled that there were boys on TV with long hair who tied it up. If they could do it, then so could she! At the very least, it wouldn’t be as embarrassing…

She chose a simple black hair tie, plain and unadorned. Even though she considered picking something prettier, she was scared… scared of being teased by family and relatives for being too girly.

Realizing Xia Yu picked a plain black hair tie, Xia Ling understood her concerns and didn’t ask her to choose again. She quickly tied Xia Yu’s hair into a refreshing ponytail.

P.S. Do you know what a “fake girl” is?

P.S. Does Little Yu want to get a haircut later?
