Chapter 162

### Chapter 162: Jiang Kekai’s Foreshadowing

After class ended, Huang Qiao, as usual, immediately approached Xia Yu and Xia Ling’s desk as one would expect. She turned to Xia Ling, who was more open to conversation, and asked in shock, “Xia Ling, is Xia Yu really a boy?”

Eh…?

Xia Ling felt somewhat awkward, scratching her hair self-consciously. She didn’t want to lie but had to to keep Xia Yu’s identity secret. So, she reluctantly said, “Yeah, I just prefer thinking of her more like a younger sister.”

Reflecting further, Xia Ling added, “Besides, she doesn’t look much like a boy. Treating her as an adorable younger sister is fine.” With that, Xia Ling boldly wrapped her arms around Xia Yu’s body as if to validate their close relationship. Xia Yu simply stared blankly.

Seeing this, Huang Qiao didn’t know what to say but did feel curious enough to ask, “So, Xia Ling, what’s the special reason your younger brother has long hair?”

“It’s a secret.”

Of course, Xia Ling wasn’t going to mention Xia Yu’s psychological conditions. She found those issues embarrassing and would hate others knowing about them.

“Fine, fine, leave it as a secret then.”

Huang Qiao felt disappointed for not getting a straight answer but quickly brushed it off. Then, she turned to Xia Yu and asked, “Can I call you Xia Yu like Xia Ling?”

Xia Yu wanted nothing to do with anyone, but Huang Qiao was so forward that ignoring her seemed harsh. Thus, Xia Yu just nodded in agreement.

Seeing this, Xia Ling awkwardly explained, “I told you, my sister isn’t good at talking. Don’t take it personally.”

“No worries.”

Huang Qiao laughed as she felt comfortable enough and didn’t mind Xia Yu’s silence at all. In fact, she felt sorry for Xia Yu, imagining how hard it must be with so few friends.

Meanwhile, far away overseas, Jiang Kekai finally received information about Xia Yu’s school and grade. She immediately called her sister Jiang Hanhang.

Even though school had started, Jiang Hanhang sat leisurely in her pajamas, clutching a teddy bear while watching anime on her computer. Clearly, she was still a girly girl at heart.

Jiang Hanhang was waiting for news from her sister, Jiang Kekai.

Two weeks earlier, Jiang Kekai guessed Xia Yu might face bullying in the new school. She couldn’t allow that. So, she convinced her sister not to start school yet, to prepare for transferring to protect Xia Yu.

Initially, Jiang Hanhang was very reluctant. Jiang Bin also strongly opposed, as his daughter was a Jiang family lady.

Though only two hours from Peng City via car, Demon City, where they lived, belonged to a different league. The Lin family, whom Peng City hated, could easily sabotage any Jiang family support.

But Jiang Kekai wasn’t scared, “The Lin family? They don’t pose a threat to us. We’re the biggest family in Demon City. If we show fear, it’ll only encourage other families.”

Jiang Bin understood. He was right; the Jiang family was way bigger than the Lin family. Bigger families often got weak when it came to big decisions.

Then, Jiang Kekai suggested they expand to Peng City, making herself and Jiang Hanhang lead the charge.

While this would anger many Peng City families and even stronger ones like the Lins, stronger families rose over weaker ones.

Jiang Bin knew his firstborn’s stubborn nature. He compromised, accepting his daughter’s early maturity and hiring even more protectors to secure them in Peng City.

For Jiang Hanhang, persuading her was easy. She was given control of a large company and managed by professionals, ensuring she was set for life.

Moreover, Jiang Hanhang wasn’t against changing schools to protect Xia Yu. She’d studied the subjects at home and saw school now as a breeze, eagerly looking forward to life outside.

When Jiang Kekai finally called, Jiang Hanhang instantly agreed, “Hey sis, which school and grade is that guy in?”

“Peng City Second Middle School, Grade Six, Class Fifteen. It’s arranged already. You can directly drop by this afternoon. Oh, and if possible, take some pictures of her for me.”

“Don’t worry sis, I’ve got this covered.”

Perhaps due to being alone, Jiang Hanhang crossed her legs on her desk with a confident grin.

“By the way, I bought a new place near Xia Yu’s home. Security has been upgraded. Just pick one of the rooms when you get there later. I’ll come back and join you soon after.”

“No way, it’s scary when I’m alone. Let’s wait till you’re back to move in together. I’ll stay home tonight.” “Suit yourself, just make sure Xia Yu stays safe.”

“Of course, sis.”

…..

Ending the call with Jiang Kekai, Jiang Hanhang eagerly put on her shoes and grabbed her bag. She was ready to go immediately, just waiting for the green light from Jiang Kekai.

Without Jiewei, Zhao Wei naturally became Jiang Hanhang’s bodyguard and driver. As for Ah Cheng and the others, they followed discreetly. “Wei Xiao Jiejie, we’re going to Peng City Second Middle School.”

So, Jiang Hanhang rushed out of the Jiang family compound. A convoy of cars escorted her safely through the city. The lesson ended, and Xia Yu felt an urge, if she didn’t relieve herself now, another forty minutes were ahead of her.

After much deliberation, Xia Ling leaned close and invited, “Sis, wanna go to the toilet together?”

Xia Yu looked up and saw Huang Qiao and some girls inviting Xia Ling to the restroom. Xia Ling habitually called her along. However, a girl chimed in, irked, “Why invite your little br—uh—I mean, your sister to the bathroom?”

Xia Ling realized they weren’t welcoming Xia Yu. But she remained calm, understanding their position. “No problem. You go first; I’ll join my sister.”

She considered these girls just meeting for a few hours; Xia Yu was family for over a decade. She knew priorities. Even if they ended the friendship, so what? She’d seen this before.

Ignoring the girls, Xia Ling grasped Xia Yu’s hand. “Come on, sis, let’s go.”

Xia Yu was surprised but went along, following Xia Ling to the toilet.

The other girl continued grumbling, “A sissy needing their sister to take them to the bathroom.” Unintentionally said, but it spread fast through the class, back to Xia Yu’s name.

Xia Yu and Xia Ling were oblivious to the nickname.

Yuying Building’s restrooms were on odd-numbered floors, male on the left and female on the right, quite a distance apart.

First-floor access brought a quandary: where should Xia Yu go? Female toilets but male identity; discovery would be problematic. Male toilets safer, but Xia Ling worried about Xia Yu. Before Xia Ling decided, Xia Yu boldly headed for the boys’ room.

“Kid, just three minutes,” Xia Ling warned.

Clearly, Xia Ling’s only plan was keeping Xia Yu safe. Not the brightest strategy, but it worked.
