### Chapter 405: When Will the Vendetta End?
Hanhan, d*mn, actually got herself infected and has a fever. Xia Yu can’t help but feel a twisted sense of satisfaction. Hahaha, she was so arrogant last night, now she’s burning up. She deserves it. Even though Xia Yu is secretly gloating, her head still hurts like crazy—after all, she didn’t finish her medicine yesterday.
Looking at the two feverish figures on the bed, Jiang Kekai feels somewhat helpless, “What do you want to do? Should I take both of you to the hospital or should I call someone to come over and see you?”
“Mmm, sister, I don’t want to go to the hospital; I prefer the bed at home.”
Seemingly in retaliation against Xia Yu, Hanhan flipped over, landing back on top of Xia Yu. Xia Yu sighed inwardly, “I don’t want to either.”
Xia Yu tried hard to push Hanhan away but found herself too weak due to her illness. Her efforts only made her even more off her game, and she couldn’t budge that annoying Hanhan.
In the end, Kekai couldn’t take it anymore. She gave each of them a light smack on the head, “Hey, since you’re sick, just let it heal. Stop being so rowdy, okay?”
Kekai: “Fine.”
Hanhan promised to be good, then pulled the covers over both herself and Xia Yu. Whatever she did under the covers, Xia Yu knew full well.
Before Hanhan could continue tormenting Xia Yu, Xiao Ling suddenly hugged her from behind and flipped her to the other side. “Alright, you two, rest like this, I’ll sleep next to you.”
Seeing Xiao Ling’s bold move, Kekai felt a bit relieved. “All three of you, just keep resting. Don’t fool around, I’ll find someone to check on you.”
It wasn’t a holiday, so Xia Le had already gone to school, and both Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan had also gone to work. That meant no one else was home except them.
But this was good; they wouldn’t have to worry about others noticing. Xia Yu, especially, hadn’t planned on confessing anything yet, and she appreciated the privacy. Knowing Kekai would personally call for help, the medical staff arrived quickly at the door.
No need for pleasantries. Kekai told the female doctors to get straight to checking Xia Yu and Hanhan. As the oldest of the bunch, Kekai thought taking care of the younger ones was quite a task.
In short, Hanhan and Xia Yu were hooked up to IVs and could no longer cause trouble.
Hanhan stayed put, lying on the princess bed with Xia Yu and Kekai, finding solace in the company. Xia Yu wondered if Hanhan was doing this to get back at her; vendettas never seem to end, and Hanhan seemed to enjoy every second.
Sure enough, while Xia Yu was trying to catch some more sleep with the IVs, Hanhan’s fidgety little claws reached out straight for Xia Yu’s face. Pinch!
“Big sis, control your wife!”
Xia Yu couldn’t handle it anymore and called on her big sister, Xia Ling, who was still discussing food options with Kekai. Xia Ling: “… Kekai: “…”
When they turned around, sure enough, Hanhan was once again bullying Xia Yu, even with needles in her arms. “You two are really something; I’ve never seen this before.”
Acknowledging her wife’s fault first, Xia Ling lightly smacked Hanhan’s bottom as a punishment and placed a large teddy bear between them.
“Uh-huh.”
Despite getting caught, Hanhan showed no remorse and even praised Xia Ling. “Back then, I didn’t know Xiao Yu was so easy to tease. It’s lucky you noticed sooner rather than later.”
Hanhan’s head swiveled back toward Xia Yu’s face, rubbing it against the pillow. Xia Yu: “… Kekai: ‘…”
“If you dare to bully Xiao Yu again, I’ll chain you up.”
Kekai naturally wouldn’t let her future wife continually be bullied by her sister. Once she saw enough, she decided to intervene.
“Heh, I’m listening.”
Hanhan backed off, still grinning, knowing her limits despite her desire to press them further.
Kekai then went back to discussing food with Xia Ling, letting the drama unfold. Hanhan and Xia Yu stayed in their own little world, staring at each other. Xia Yu gave up and closed her eyes to try and sleep again.
Thankfully, Hanhan stayed calmer this time and didn’t bother her much. Xia Yu, however, remained confused—did Hanhan really not mind her past? And what happened to girls’ modesty? Xia Yu felt a bit worn out.
From morning until noon, Hanhan and Xia Yu lay there, taking one round of IVs, and their conditions improved. Lunch came in the form of the hearty chicken soup from Master Chen, and Hanhan got to pig out as well.
“Master~”
After two rounds of IVs, Xia Yu was feeling better and could move around freely. So when Master Chen arrived, he saw a sight he didn’t expect. The thought of him treating Xia Yu like a true disciple brought a rare moment of tenderness.
“Rest well. We’ll discuss cooking another day.”
Xia Yu found herself touched yet a little uncomfortable by such kindness. She wanted to push her luck. “Should I make up for missed lessons?”
Master Chen hadn’t expected this request but felt obligated to indulge Xia Yu given her enthusiasm. “If you’re so keen, I’ll organize some time to catch you up.”
Xia Yu: “???”
As the assistant laid the meal on the table, Master Chen left promptly.
Since they were all just kids to him, and the others weren’t exactly talkative, he preferred returning to his own matters.
Smelling the food, Hanhan couldn’t resist and started eating first. The others agreed quietly, settling down for a meal.
Assessing Xia Yu and Hanhan’s condition, Kekai got serious. “How do you feel now? When will you be ready to go back to school?”
“Not now, let’s eat,” protested Hanhan, pouting. “I’ve already learned these courses. Why repeat them?”
“You know why I want you to go back. Interaction is good.”
“No need. With Xiao Ling and you, I’m fine. Too many people are exhausting.”
Since confessing, Hanhan had become more relaxed around Xia Ling, often throwing herself into Xia Ling’s arms and acting cute. Xia Ling just accepted it, embracing Hanhan protectively.
In reality, Xia Yu shared that sentiment. She didn’t fancy going back to school.
Jiang Xiao Ning ignored her, busy addressing someone else. No problem—Xia Yu could enjoy her meal in peace.
Hanhan might use her tricks on others or Jiang Bin, but not on Kekai. She said firmly, “Enough nonsense. Tell me, when will you two be able to return to school?”
“Hmm…”
Hanhan sat up and checked her phone, realizing it was Wednesday. “Can we rest until Friday?”
“Not on Friday either. How about Saturday?”
This demand was typical Hanhan, hoping to skip five days altogether. But Kekai wouldn’t budge. “One more day and back to school on Friday.”
“Just one more day, sis! Please, for Xiao Yu and me? Going back is dangerous.”
Xia Yu observed this playful exchange, wondering how far this would go. Sensing her hesitation, Kekai looked to Xia Yu for guidance.
“If you both agree to stay for one more day, we’ll skip Friday and rest another day.”
Xia Yu hesitated, seeing the pleading looks from Hanhan and Xia Ling. Despite knowing better, Xia Yu couldn’t resist the moment.
