Chapter 38: Loli Energy is Full!
Night Lan was on her way home.
Originally, White Fish wanted to go back with her, but then White Paint showed up.
White Fish knew that her sister had a lot on her mind, so she decided to ditch that plan.
Though a bit disappointed, she’d have to wait until next time to visit Night Lan’s place.
Meanwhile…
Night Star arrived home before Night Lan, and upon entering, she immediately began to investigate the old puppet she had received from the Puppet Master.
“Hmm… how do I fix this?”
Besides being socially awkward, Night Star was also a total klutz when it came to hands-on projects.
Crafting? No way! Repairing a marionette? Forget about it!
“Ugh…”
Night Star scratched her head in distress but couldn’t think of anything.
So, she decided it was time to ask for help!
And the only person she knew was her neighbor, Mo Tu.
“Guess I’ll just ask him…”
Next door…
Mo Tu had just returned home and was lounging while listening to music when he suddenly heard a knock on his door. He quickly jumped up and walked over.
As he opened the door, he saw a petite silver-haired figure standing nervously at the threshold.
“Oh?”
Seeing this adorable little neighbor, a rare thought crossed his mind.
What does she want from him?
Before he could ask that, he first flashed a smile.
“Night Star, what brings you here?”
“Well, um, I have something I need your help with…”
“What is it? I can give it a try.”
Upon hearing this, Night Star pulled out two pieces of the marionette she had been hiding behind her back and presented them to Mo Tu.
“It’s this! Can you fix puppets? My friend’s marionette got broken, and she’s really sad about it, so I want to fix it to cheer her up.”
Mo Tu focused on the two pieces of the marionette in Night Star’s hands, and suddenly, his eyes went wide.
At this point, not even he could hold it together any longer, and the corners of his mouth started to twitch.
“Where… did you get this thing?”
Night Star looked at his expression, confused. “This is from my friend. Is there something weird about it?”
Mo Tu rubbed his temples, trying to calm himself down.
“Oh, no, it’s just… I’m surprised your friend has such old-fashioned tastes in this day and age.”
“Um, yeah, I feel the same way.”
Mo Tu kept smiling, his eyes glued to the pieces of the puppet in Night Star’s hands.
“What were you planning to do with it?”
“I was thinking of just gluing it back together with super glue…”
“……”
Mo Tu quickly covered his mouth with his hand, desperately trying to suppress his impending laughter.
Night Star, oblivious to all this, felt a bit embarrassed.
“But then I thought that seemed unreliable, so I came to ask you.”
Mo Tu cleared his throat, trying to sound serious. “Cough, cough, using glue is indeed a bit absurd. You can’t fix it like that.”
Seeing Mo Tu’s confident stance, Night Star felt a glimmer of hope and her eyes filled with expectation.
“Can you fix it?”
“No, in this world, only you can fix that marionette. No one else can.”
“Huh? But I don’t know how to fix it… my hands are clumsy! If I just followed some tutorial online, it would definitely end up a disaster.”
Night Star’s spirit plummeted, still unaware of the deeper implications of what Mo Tu had just said.
Mo Tu shook his head.
“If you put your mind to it, you can definitely fix it. You have to believe in yourself.”
Encouraged by Mo Tu’s words, Night Star felt a little more confident.
“Hmm… then I’ll give it a shot.”
“But…” Mo Tu’s gaze became more serious, and his smile faded slightly.
“Night Star, are you ready to take responsibility for what happens after it’s fixed?”
“Hmm?” Night Star hesitated for a moment, timidly responding, “Um… can you not talk in riddles? Can you be more straightforward?”
Mo Tu smiled gently.
“Okay, let’s get a bit more direct. Let’s say, if—you know, if—you fix that marionette and it accidentally triggers an unimaginable catastrophe, would you still want to fix it?”
“If? Hmm…”
Night Star nodded thoughtfully.
She had already promised the Puppet Master to fix the marionette.
If fixing it would lead to disaster, could she really bear that responsibility?
Mo Tu quietly watched as Night Star pondered, not interrupting her.
“I think… I won’t let a disaster happen.”
“Oh?”
Images of the Puppet Master’s hopeful eyes and her sad face while holding the broken pieces flooded Night Star’s mind. She had made up her mind.
“If it really happens… I’ll do my best to stop it.”
“No, you must stop it.”
“Hmm… then I will!”
Mo Tu nodded with satisfaction and smiled slightly: “Then go for it! You may face some difficulties, but I believe you can do it.”
“Thanks for the encouragement!”
Although she still didn’t fully grasp Mo Tu’s meaning, Night Star felt much more confident.
She hugged the two pieces of the marionette and headed back to her room, leaving behind a spirited silhouette.
Mo Tu leaned against the doorframe and sighed.
“If it goes wrong, it won’t just mean more work; this little one is definitely a handful…”
…
Night Star returned to her room, ready for a night of research.
Just then, Night Lan came back.
“I’m back~!”
“Welcome back~!”
Seeing the adorable Night Star made Night Lan’s mood lighten tremendously.
Now, a little side note here.
Night Star and Night Lan’s styles were quite different.
Night Lan had developed a certain social circle, with some limits on her morals and boundaries. She wouldn’t dare dress too flamboyantly and stuck to more androgynous outfits.
But Night Star? She was like the pet pampered by Night Lan! Most of the time, she could just lounge around at home without having to deal with too many people.
Plus, she just loved the cute loli aesthetic, so she always aimed for the adorable look.
Like her cute hairstyle, little skirts, and white stockings, of course!
Night Lan felt slightly shy about dressing up to meet others.
While Night Star fulfilled her own needs regarding “cuteness.”
She was basically a dedicated mannequin!
Every day, Night Lan would personally dress Night Star in these adorable outfits, making her look super cute, filling her heart with boundless satisfaction.
Seeing the silver-haired loli in her little skirt and thin white stockings would instantly boost her mood like a nuclear energy station.
Even if they were both herself!
Sure, Night Star wasn’t completely anti-social, but her interactions were rare enough to be almost negligible.
“Hehe~ finally home, let’s take a bath together!”
Soaking in a hot bath was the best!
The two tiny bodies squished into the large bathtub could even “massage” each other, relieving the day’s accumulated fatigue and providing immense comfort—talk about refreshing!
So, bath time was always the most anticipated moment for Night Stars Lan!
A little while later, two steaming lolis emerged from the bathroom, starting to blow-dry each other’s hair.
“Hmm… we must take good care of our hair! If anything goes wrong, I’d be heartbroken!”
Night Stars Lan really loved her body.
Since she had transformed into a loli, she had to be responsible.
This was not just about her own mood; it also impacted the cozy feeling of hugging someone while sleeping, which was super important!
“Alright, that should be good enough.”
After drying their hair, they got down to business.
Night Lan sat in front of the computer while Night Star sprawled out on the bed.
One was searching online for information, while the other scoured on her phone; working together meant higher efficiency—no problem at all.
“Hmmm… how should I repair this cut? Maybe I’ll have to recreate it? I wonder if today’s tech has wood-connection methods…”
Night Star felt that this marionette must have some significant meaning to the Puppet Master. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be so heartbroken over its destruction.
She probably wouldn’t accept just making an identical replacement marionette; it had to be thoroughly repaired based on the original.
But how was that even possible for Night Stars Lan?
After digging through a mountain of information, Night Star and Night Lan temporarily gave up.
“It’s getting pretty late. Let’s just go to bed for now.”
Night Lan crawled into bed like a little kitten, hugging Night Star, who smelled soft and sweet, burying her face in her silvery hair for a deep breath.
“Mmm~ Loli energy is full!”
