Chapter 28 – Life Blessing
In the blink of an eye.
The theater group’s figures appeared in the dimming auditorium.
“The Audience Performer, we’re back.”
“Umm…?”
Hearing those words, Night Star’s eyelashes trembled slightly as she slowly opened her eyes, which had been sealed shut out of fear.
“Where…is this?”
Night Star glanced around and realized they were back at the Rising Sun Theater.
Before the transfer, she was performing on some small stage in the entertainment area; was this some kind of instant teleportation ability?
Feels so darn amazing~
Just as she thought that, she felt excruciating pain in her arm, remembering that she was injured.
“Grr…”
Lianhua hurriedly came over, her expression panicked as she helped Night Star sit down.
“Night Star, your arm is badly wounded, with lots of bl**d… What do we do?”
Seeing Lianhua’s distressed look, Night Star somehow held back the tears.
Luckily, Night Lan distracted her from the pain with a transfer, or she might have really buckled under such agony.
Night Star sneakily glanced at the gruesome wound, a long gash at least ten centimeters deep.
It was Ji!
But surprisingly, the bleeding stopped.
Her wound wasn’t supposed to clot that quickly.
The pain…was easing.
But no one else knew.
Lianhua looked baffled at the wound, unsure of what to do to help, her mind spinning in confusion.
“Night…Night Star, let’s go to the hospital fast. The injury looks bad!”
“Uh…there’s no need to panic.”
Just as Night Star tried to calm Lianhua down, a faint golden glow emerged from her body.
So warm.
“Huh?”
Night Star froze.
She stared at her hand, noting the familiar light radiating from it.
Instantly, an itching sensation tingled through her injured arm, her wound healing, the pain diminishing until there was practically no burning sensation left.
Finally, the light dispersed, and Night Star raised her arm curiously, only to find the wound gone—revealing smooth, milky-white skin.
“Wow…”
Night Star was in awe.
Lianhua watched in shock, her eyes widening incredulously.
“Night Star’s wound healed… How could this be?”
Not just that, but Lianhua also sensed a familiar aura in the glow.
Similar to her, the theater group leader, and others—it was Star Eclipses!
Could Night Star also be a Star Eclipses?
Lianhua tilted her head in thought, quickly dismissing the thought.
Night Star couldn’t be a Star Eclipses; the aura vanished when the glow disappeared.
This must be tied to something she didn’t know about.
Either way, she was glad Night Star was alright.
With that, Lianhua joyfully hugged Night Star, feeling relieved.
“Mmmph…”
Night Star hugged back, yet her brain was buzzing with thoughts.
She conjectured about the golden glow and recalled it being seen during her mother Ye Qingya’s stories.
Star Eclipses, once a cursed ‘Life Curse,’ transformed into a blessed ‘Life Blessing’ – healing wounds and replenishing vitality.
Currently, that star belongs to Bai Yu as well.
“But why…”
When the glow surged earlier, Night Star detected a faint familiar energy: Star Eclipses.
This couldn’t belong to Bai Yu because she’s a Star Holder, not Star Eclipses.
So, this ‘Life Blessing’ must come from Bai Yu’s mother.
When did this all start?
Daydreaming, Night Star recalled moments of loneliness.
Feeling embraced by warmth, like a gentle hand petting her head.
Bai Yu mentioned she’d inherited her mother’s aura.
Together with the sudden shining glaze after getting hurt, it felt like salvation.
“That’s right…”
Did her mother give her this magical Star Eclipses power when she passed on?
Or perhaps her benevolent maternal spirit has been inside her all along, watching over her secretly.
“Mm….”
An urge to cry welled up within Night Star.
Regardless of which theory was right, it evoked a maternal warmth she’d never felt before.
With determination, her eyes hardened.
“Rest assured, Mama Bai Yu. I’ll definitely take good care of Bai Yu for you!”
At this moment, the mute theater group leader finally spoke up.
“Oh… It’s such a relief the Audience Performer is safe. If any of our theater-exclusive audience got hurt, even I’d be furious.”
Not only the theater group leader, the Gentleman seemed calmer now as he smiled warmly.
“Since the Audience Performer’s forgiveness is so generous, then I’ll pretend their rudeness never happened.”
Click.
The Fraudster snapped his fingers, abruptly dissolving the mask concept on Night Star’s face.
“What a pity, I still have plenty more tricks unshown.”
Night Star cocked her head, innocently replying, “Show me then, after all, I’m an audience member.”
The Fraudster paused, then chuckled.
“Not for you to watch. Forget it.”
Snap snap!
With two claps, the theater group leader grabbed everyone’s attention.
“Well then, since we’ve ended our show early, let’s restart the performance on the theater stage. Since there’s still an audience, the show isn’t a total loss.”
Night Star raised her hands excitedly.
“Yeah! Woooo!”
Reflecting on it later, she realized they’d made quite a ruckus this time.
The Sun Theater had pretty much annihilated the Night Watcher.
If Night Star hadn’t intervened, the whole team might have perished. Becoming puppets would be the least of their worries if they ended up under the Puppet Master Xiao Lian.
Amongst the Night Watchers, Night Star even spotted familiar faces like Bai Yu’s sister, White Paint, making any harm even more problematic.
“It’s a complete mess…”
Now it was done, so what can be done.
She wondered what the next surprise would be.
Maybe just a peaceful everyday routine would be nice.
Night Star whispered a prayer in her heart.
“Worship of the lazy deity, please keep your loyal acolyte always leisurely fishing in the pond.”
Shaking off her jumbled thoughts, Night Star settled in the front row of the auditorium.
There, she’d enjoy the remaining performances alone, as a daily amusement.
Besides, the troupe members’ performance truly ticked all her boxes.
Thus ends,
Today’s outdoor performance.
In the vast auditorium,
Performers took to the stage, each showcasing unique talents.
Below the stage, a cute silver-haired loli quietly served as part of the audience, cheering on every performer with applause and cheers.
Time gradually passed, curtains closing slowly.
