Chapter 237: You Call This a Classical Musician?
“Man, you’re really disconnected from the internet, Teacher Wei.”
He Zhi Chen, ever patient, sighed and adjusted his glasses, “Come on, Teacher Moonlight and Teacher Cat, both 18 years old—aren’t you supposed to know this?”
“Why should I care about two unrelated people who aren’t even in my field?”
Wei Xiao Xiao’s eyes showed confusion.
“…”
He Zhi Chen was at a loss for words.
Indeed, Wei Xiao Xiao, a self-centered celebrity, hardly bothered with what other singers were up to, let alone keep tabs on what was trending in other circles.
According to He Zhi Chen, she was more interested in sharing her views on manga and movies on Weibo, living in her own little bubble.
Her face twisted into a troubled expression, “Heaven, how is this any different than those two teenagers out for an adventure?”
“Weak sauce, you’re only 23.”
“I’m 22 years and 7 months!”
Teacher Wei corrected herself; age is a very sensitive topic for female stars.
Though not in the music industry, as part of MusicMelody Entertainment, Wei Xiao Xiao had met many musicians over the years.
She didn’t have a favorable opinion of them—they were rigid, out-of-touch old-timers who loved calling themselves artists.
Everything they did was slow and inefficient—no match for someone as fast-paced as Wei Xiao Xiao.
Especially those classical musicians!
Not only did they seem disconnected from the world, but a lot had severe social anxieties. They might as well be aliens.
Standing next to them made Wei Xiao Xiao feel like she stepped back in time.
The company had once assigned her a project with a prominent 59-year-old musician, which had been a nightmare.
The old man acted superior and looked down on her as a pop star, pointing out every mistake she made.
That experience left a sour taste in her mouth.
So, when she learned the Tokyo trip would involve two classical musicians, she wasn’t thrilled.
18 years old—
Wei Xiao Xiao herself used to be a child star and knew how troublesome famous teenagers could be—take her own hot temper as proof.
Plus, this classical musician tag made her instantly think of old curmudgeons who don’t adapt and have a brain full of old junk.
“Don’t worry, Teacher Wei, Mr. Lin isn’t your typical musician,” explained He Zhi Chen, seeing her unease.
At that moment, a black car pulled up by the curb. The door opened—Lin Tian, wearing a simple blue sports jacket and a crisp white shirt, emerged.
He was so fresh-faced that the women on the street couldn’t help but stare.
His gaze swept over everything before settling.
Lin Tian smiled brightly and waved with a casual, “Hey, sorry for making you wait, Brother He!”
“Glad you made it, Mr. Lin.”
He Zhi Chen returned with a smile.
“Where’s Teacher Gan?”
“She’s coming. Probably near,” explained Lin Tian, glancing at Wei Xiao Xiao standing there.
“Who’s this?”
“Oh… this is our fellow traveler, Teacher Wei.”
“Hehe, Teacher Wei?”
He Zhi Chen called twice.
“Oh okay.”
Wei Xiao Xiao snapped back.
“This is Mr. Lin,” said He Zhi Chen.
“Hello,” Lin Tian greeted.
“Hi,” Wei Xiao Xiao replied stiffly.
Internally, she was a bit flustered.
How could a classical musician be so charming? And why wouldn’t he be an idol?
It was too unreal, beyond her understanding of classical musicians.
“Mr. Lin, don’t you feel cold in just that?”
Everyone else was bundled up.
“But I’m fine,” Lin Tian replied lightly, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
After his body strengthening, he felt his physical condition had improved. Cold didn’t bother him much anymore.
It was cool to see!
This guy’s confidence was mind-boggling.
Seeing Lin Tian comfortably moving about, Wei Xiao Xiao grew curious.
“Wow, he can prioritize fashion and warmth at the same time—how many girl stars wish they could do that?”
“He can’t be a comic book protagonist, right?”
“Young at heart, yet strong—we ‘oldies’ can’t take the cold without extra layers,” joked He Zhi Chen.
Suddenly, another taxi pulled up.
“Ah, there’s Teacher Gan,” He Zhi Chen pointed out.
She was dressed in a gray suit coat with a flowing long skirt, looking refined and elegant.
Gan Yan Yu stepped out cautiously, looking around and then walking gingerly, as if she owned the place.
Upon seeing Lin Tian, she dashed over with a smile, “Lin Tian.”
Ignoring everyone else, she stood by Lin Tian.
“You took forever!”
“I had to bring everything, including my cello.”
Gan Yan Yu turned to reveal a large cello.
“Why carry that thing? Oh, you must live and breathe the cello, right!?”
She turned back with a smile.
“That’s to always be ready to play for Teacher Lin when inspiration strikes.”
“I see.”
“Um, this is…”
He Zhi Chen started to introduce, but Wei Xiao Xiao was already lost in admiration.
“Wow, such a beautiful cellist,” she murmured.
“Me?” Gan Yan Yu pointed, confused.
“Thank you, you look great too.”
The young woman then turned back to talk to Lin Tian.
“What a pair of classical music dreamboats—why do they look nothing like my nightmares?”
Wei Xiao Xiao slipped her sunglasses back up.
She whispered softly to He Zhi Chen.
“Teacher He…”
“Yes?”
“Aren’t these two an item?”
“They haven’t officially dated, but I’d say they’re close.”
“Just make it official.”
He Zhi Chen took Wei Xiao Xiao’s hand firmly,
“Teacher Wei, like millions of fans, I also believe they belong together.”
