Chapter 12: Fish-Molesting Supreme
While the Singer and Lianhua were deep in conversation about puppet theater plots, Night Star quietly slipped away to the other side.
“Group Leader.”
At Night Star’s call, the shadowy figure of the Group Leader emerged nearby, stealthier than a cat burglar.
“What’s up? Audience Performer.”
Gathering her courage, Night Star asked, “Is there anything you need me to do? Or any regrets you want to share? I could help.”
The Group Leader replied, “I have no regrets, nor do I need your help. All I require is your support for my performance, and that’s enough.”
“Ah, I see…”
Night Star caught on.
The Group Leader didn’t seem to have any wishful yearnings, so he probably wouldn’t be making any wishes.
So how was she supposed to clear his star eclipse pollution?
As long as the star eclipse pollution was there, he could never perform in front of normal folks. That was the crux of the issue.
“Hmm…”
Night Star fell into deep thought.
Since the Group Leader didn’t want to make a wish, could she proactively wish to get rid of his star eclipse pollution?
Was that even possible?
She’d have to go home tonight and give it a shot.
Seeing Night Star stuck in silence, the Group Leader continued, “Audience Performer, no need to overthink it. Your support is the greatest help to me. With you here, I’ll have greater motivation to perform on stage. Even when the audience grows, your place in my heart will remain irreplaceable.”
“Hmm, while I’m glad you say that, may I ask why the Group Leader performs?”
Night Star had an odd flashback to something the Loli Announcer had once said.
She claimed the Group Leader wanted the audience to clap and cheer for him, and that was his reason for being so into performances.
In response, the Group Leader gazed quietly at the petite Night Star.
“It’s to make others display expressions like yours—joy, surprise, love… These emotions are affirmations for me, and they fulfill me. Simply supporting me won’t satisfy me. The grand performance I anticipate isn’t just my aim; it’s also a huge surprise meant to attract the audience.”
“Hmm, I’ll make it happen.”
“No, you’re the Audience Performer. You shouldn’t interfere with the performer’s duties. We’ll take your suggestions into account, but if you get involved, the nature of things changes.” The Group Leader gently patted Night Star on the head before turning to leave.
Night Star was left a bit dazed.
Did the Group Leader mean she shouldn’t use her powers to interfere with him?
He seemed to know something.
Makes sense.
She had met the Group Leader ahead of time during the Singer’s incident.
Though she wasn’t sure how the Group Leader’s mind worked, he probably knew about it.
But if Night Star didn’t interfere, how would the Group Leader achieve his goals?
His obsession was simple but challenging to accomplish.
Night Star recalled the Group Leader’s earlier words.
What did he mean by “once you participate, the nature changes”?
“Confusing…”
Night Star realized the Group Leader also liked riddles, much like a certain peculiar person.
Couldn’t he just say something straightforward?
Making a little loli like her think hard was too much.
“Sigh~ Let’s take it slow. No rush…”
……
A night passed.
The Night Watcher Base welcomed a platinum-haired little loli, none other than the newly arrived Star Yoon.
“Is this the place for fish-molesting in the future? Looks pretty nice,” Star Yoon said, curiously glancing around at her surroundings.
Her family had already handled all the paperwork.
She could roam freely here as long as she kept her nose clean and stayed out of trouble.
Star Yoon was certain she excelled at that.
“Hmm… Next, I’ll just sit around and wait for Kanagawa-nee. She should come looking for me soon.”
She sat down nearby and pulled out a special Night Watcher device to examine.
This thing looked pretty high-tech, worth some exploration.
It was said that the people here were extraordinary, each possessing some magical ability, like superheroes.
But that didn’t concern Star Yoon.
She just wanted to people-watch.
People-watching was a sophisticated hobby, and it wouldn’t disturb anyone. As long as she managed herself, she was all good.
After a few minutes of tinkering, Star Yoon figured out how to use it.
It operated similarly to a regular phone, just with extra special functions.
And these features were specifically designed for Night Watchers; Star Yoon quickly lost interest after a brief overview.
Time to play some games instead.
With that thought, Star Yoon pulled out her portable game console and began playing intently.
At that moment, an invisible wave spread through the area, silently enveloping it.
This kind of power was hard to detect; anyone with less than A-level mental prowess wouldn’t notice anything amiss.
It wasn’t that this power was high-level; we could just say it was special and harmless.
This harmless wave couldn’t touch the Night Watchers’ sensory nerves, causing them to subconsciously overlook it.
Just then, a few Night Watchers passed by.
“Bu Jie, we seem to have some tasks to finish before we can go have fun.”
“Huh? Are you talking about the mission Captain Bai handed us? We can just do that half-heartedly.”
“True, let’s wrap it up so we can unwind,” Cai Xun said breezily.
At that moment, he suddenly spotted a mysterious girl absorbed in her game.
All alone, exuding a vibe of solitude.
Cai Xun diverted his path and walked over.
“Hey, little one! What are you doing all by yourself?”
Star Yoon lifted her head slightly, replying, “Fishing and waiting for someone.”
“Did you just arrive here today?” Cai Xun guessed.
“Yep, I’ll be living here from now on. I promise I won’t disturb anyone.”
Hearing that, Cai Xun almost pieced the situation together.
This little loli was probably here on a reconnaissance mission to adapt to the base.
As a potential Night Watcher, young ones like her were often sent by their families to become accustomed to the environment while learning the necessary knowledge, so they wouldn’t have to worry about their futures.
This was the case for many prospective Night Watchers; typical family norms.
Bu Jie joined them.
Upon seeing Star Yoon’s appearance, he couldn’t help but ponder.
“Cai Xun, don’t you think… the number of little girls at our base is increasing? If people see us, they might think we’re running a daycare!”
“Now that you mention it, I feel it too.”
As they chatted, the two settled down next to Star Yoon.
Noticing this, Star Yoon kept her silence, continuing to focus on her game.
These two big brothers looked like good people, or rather, everyone here seemed nice.
So, there was no need to worry about them interrupting her fish-molesting activities.
Star Yoon felt quite at ease doing her thing in this space.
Just as Star Yoon reimmersed herself in her game, Cai Xun and Bu Jie had already moved on to other topics.
They were chatting away happily, feeling light-hearted, completely forgetting the little task they still had on their plates.
As time went on, more and more Night Watchers lingered in the area.
Some quietly listened to music, others engaged in soft conversations, while some took quick naps, making the scene wonderfully harmonious.
Star Yoon’s presence transformed this place into the ultimate fish-molesting hub.
Everyone felt relaxed, stress gradually dissipating, and all negative emotions fading away as they indulged in what they loved to do.
This was the star realm of the domain class—Fish-Molesting Supreme.
