### Chapter 6: Old Drill Wind Arrives

### Chapter 6: Old Drill Wind Arrives

==============================

“Clang, clang, clang!”

“Boom, boom, boom!”

Outside the Flying Cloud Cave, drums were beating and pipes were blaring, creating such a ruckus that birds flew in every direction, and animals scattered like they’d seen a ghost. Even the ceiling of the cave trembled with dust raining down from time to time.

This noisy spectacle certainly put Red Armored Spider, the cave master, in a foul mood.

He had guarded this place for over fifty years and had never faced such a provocation.

That peaceful forest had been turned upside down by a visiting enemy!

He didn’t even have time to send out scouts to investigate.

“Get out there and follow your king! Let’s make them regret ever coming here!”

Three hundred little demons spilled out of the cave behind Red Armored Spider, chattering and clamoring. However, they were in for quite a surprise: they ran smack into an outrageously flashy and armored procession.

At the front were several little demons holding up billowing flags, each emblazoned with a gigantic “Moon” character. One flag, towering above the rest, boasted the words “Cold Wind City Angels” in bold letters.

As a gentle breeze fluttered the massive flag, it flapped with a sound that echoed through the trees.

Following the ceremonial troop was a cacophony of drums and gongs.

Six little demons drummed, another six banged cymbals, while six others puffed out their cheeks and played the pipes.

This outrageous ensemble could be heard from miles away like a grand musical disaster.

Behind the noisy troupe was what seemed to be the main act.

A fabulously dressed Catfish Monster sat atop a Giant Wolf, holding the reins in one hand and resting his chin in the other, looking down at Red Armored Spider with an expression of utter disdain.

It was pretty obvious that this whole party, numbering around a hundred, was decked out in bright uniforms, armed to the teeth—clearly a force sent from a major cave, no doubt.

Conversely, back at Flying Cloud Cave, the best a little demon could do was wield a rusty kn*fe; most of them were just posturing with sticks, and some of the lower-ranking little demons didn’t have clothes to cover themselves!

When compared to this flashy army, Flying Cloud Cave looked like a bunch of beggars who hadn’t eaten in a week! The disparity was simply too shocking.

Just one glance made Red Armored Spider’s bravado shrink down to a puddle of anxiety.

Cold Wind City…

Could it be…?

His heart fluttered, and he instantly guessed the origin of this flashy squad.

He tremulously asked, “You guys are from Cold Wind Cave?”

Old Drill Wind dismissively grunted, “Used to be, but now we call ourselves Cold Wind City. Get it?”

Actually, it was Lin Nan who first proposed the name change from Cold Wind Cave to Cold Wind City.

To her, it simply felt a bit low to call their wooden settlement a cave, and changing it to a city sounded much classier.

However, Lin Nan had no idea about the rules of the monster race.

When Cold Moon, Old Drill Wind, and Little Drill Wind heard about the name change, they were thrilled for days, as if they had ascended to a brand-new level in their careers.

In the monster race, only the realms governed by top-level demons could be called cities; all subordinate areas were merely caves.

Cold Moon Witch’s strength undoubtedly qualified her as a top-tier demon, so renaming Cold Wind Cave as Cold Wind City was no trouble at all—it was quite the badge of honor.

Thus, when Old Drill Wind proudly declared the words “Cold Wind City,” Red Armored Spider couldn’t help but tremble again.

Although he felt that the Catfish Monster might not be his match, he had to weigh the power of what was backing it up.

What a joke!

Only a fool would dare to set up a city in the territory of the monster race!

Flying Cloud Cave fell under Evil Merman’s rule, and Red Armored Spider had certainly attended previous meetings.

He distinctly remembered that Evil Merman had sent their top three caves to surround Cold Wind Cave.

But in the back of his mind, he thought Cold Wind Cave was long gone, flattened by Evil Merman’s army into nothingness. At this point, the other caves were probably still bickering over how to divide the spoils!

So how on earth did Cold Wind City pop up out of nowhere?

Could it be that…

His mind raced with a thought that seemed utterly ridiculous in his eyes.

Cold Wind City had utterly defeated Evil Merman’s forces!

Otherwise, how could they possibly be here?

To have beaten the three top demons headed by Pangolin Monster, Cold Wind City had to be powerful beyond reckoning.

If not for having a top-tier demon backing them, how would they even dare to change their name?

Was the sky in the Chaos Forest about to change again?

Red Armored Spider had survived in Flying Cloud Cave this long, so he was incredibly adept at survival philosophy.

He knew when to submit to the stronger ones, and he wasn’t too proud to bend when needed.

In an instant, he put the entire matter together and reconsidered his ambitions regarding the Cold Wind City group.

He waved his hand, signaling the little demons to step back while he stepped forward with a face plastered with a smile, respectfully asking,

“May I ask what brings the esteemed angel of Cold Wind City to my humble Flying Cloud Cave?”

Old Drill Wind was quite pleased with the respectful demeanor.

He had made all that noise to show the surrounding demon race just how formidable Cold Wind City was.

His worst fear was that no one would know he, Old Drill Wind, had arrived.

“You must have heard that our Cold Wind City decisively defeated the joint forces led by the Pangolin Monster. The old demon Pangolin and Black Fish Monster were killed, while Seven Feathers surrendered, capturing nearly a thousand.”

Red Armored Spider nearly jumped out of his skin.

It was just as he thought—Evil Merman’s army had been utterly crushed. Cold Wind City’s power was indeed unfathomable!

“Y-yes…” He stammered out, nodding vigorously.

Old Drill Wind suddenly snickered, “You’re quite lucky.”

Red Armored Spider froze, “What do you mean, esteemed angel?”

“Do you understand? Our Cold Moon Great King initially wanted to pursue and completely annihilate all the forces under Evil Merman. But at that crucial moment, I advised the king that Evil Merman was not popular and that all his subordinate caves were forced to submit. Instead of using force, why not persuade them to join Cold Wind City? Wouldn’t that bring happiness for everyone?

After much deliberation, our Cold Moon Great King agreed to my suggestion.

However, if my envoy team suffers even a scratch during this process, Cold Wind City will immediately dispatch thousands to level Evil Merman’s cave, leaving no little demon behind—every last one will be punished!”

Once Old Drill Wind got excited, nobody knew what might spill out of his mouth.

His attendants knew of his nature, but still, they wiped their brows nervously at his enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Red Armored Spider was left speechless.

Wait, so what he was saying was that if he hadn’t intervened with Cold Wind City’s king, all the caves under Evil Merman would have been wiped out long ago?

Not knowing how to express his feelings in the moment, Red Armored Spider thought it couldn’t hurt to say thanks one more time.

He sighed with gratitude, “Esteemed angel, you are indeed a visionary and have greatly benefited us!”

Old Drill Wind had been waiting for this moment.

Although Red Armored Spider stumbled over his words, his gratitude couldn’t have been clearer.

He puffed out his chest in pride, “You flatter me.”

What good was a mere cave master’s gratitude? Did he look that shallow?

But if he had over a dozen cave masters respectfully calling him big brother, oh, the sweetness of that thought was glorious!

Old Drill Wind suddenly felt invigorated.

P.S.: There will be an extra update at 8 PM tonight! Also, if we hit 2000 votes before midnight, I’ll add another chapter!
