### Chapter 15: Opening Performance
A week later, the Rising Sun Theater Group returned to the entertainment district.
Night Star donned her previous outfit, showing up to the crowd as an audience performer.
“Hmm, I have a bad feeling this is going to end badly again…” Night Star mumbled, catching the attention of the nearby singer.
“Well, what can you do? The Night Watchers absolutely won’t tolerate such dangerous activities.”
“Looks like the Star Eclipses are still a major hassle.”
Night Star let out a soft sigh, brainstorming how to safely return from this event.
After all, she still remembered what the Night Watchers discussed.
They were after her, after all!
If they saw an audience performer up close, one careless move and she’d be toast.
Night Star worried about what would happen if the Night Watchers caught her and discovered her identity.
What kind of expressions would they have if they realized she wasn’t a Star Eclipse, but just an ordinary little girl?
If they figured out she was the same person as Night Lan from the Night Watcher Base, things might get even messier.
“Maybe I should just hide behind the group members, and if anything goes wrong, I can dodge like a pro this time, not like last time when I got caught,” she thought.
Her mumbling caught Lianhua’s attention.
She remembered the last incident too. Even though Night Star could heal herself, she didn’t want her to get hurt again.
“Don’t worry, audience performer, I’ll protect you! My [Hero] and [Butler] will be right by your side, and nobody will lay a finger on you!”
“Uh, thanks,” Night Star smiled, even though it didn’t provide her much comfort.
Lianhua in her incomplete state couldn’t even handle one Sunlight Night Watcher; her [Hero] and [Butler] were as flimsy as paper mache in front of Wang Chao, not to mention a gang of elite Sunlight Watchers from other cities could easily wipe them out.
Suddenly, Night Star thought of a clever plan: she could sneak away and wait for the group leader to call for a retreat, all while blending in under the colorful Black Feathers.
That seemed like a solid idea!
Just as Night Star plotted her escape from the Night Watchers’ gaze, the announcer behind her chimed in.
“Audience performer, you seem quite concerned about the toxicity of our members’ performances. Is that right?”
“Eh? Well, I think it’d go much smoother without that toxicity…”
“You might actually be able to do something about that.”
“Huh?”
Night Star looked bewildered. Did the announcer know about her [Wish Machine]?
She hadn’t told anyone!
Or maybe she really knew a lot about things?
Before Night Star could respond, the announcer continued, “It’s not about your original powers, but the new powers you’ve recently gained. If you learn to use them, you can achieve what you want.”
“Oh~”
Night Star got it.
If the [Wish Machine] wasn’t effective, could she rely on other powers?
She definitely had some unique abilities inside her.
For instance, there was [Life Blessing] that could heal injuries, the power to use [Doll City], and a third of [Existence Interference] she got from the singer. Plus, let’s not forget about that ghost girl mascot’s freedom—four powers in total!
Could any of these powers tackle the Star Eclipse pollution?
“Hmmm~”
Night Star pondered hard, nodding thoughtfully.
Unbeknownst to her, the group leader and others arrived at the sparkling new stage.
This was still a small folk stage, but it wasn’t the same location as before.
There were plenty of small stages in the entertainment district, catering to the people’s desire for fun—whether it was dancing, gaming, or even performances from local singers and dancers. It was a fabulous setup!
If someone could attract a crowd on a stage in the entertainment district, it meant they had some serious skills. If the capital noticed them and decided to support them, they could really soar!
Now, under the radar, the Rising Sun Theater Group stepped onto an unattended stage, with a flood of pedestrians passing by, none of them casting a glance at the stage.
It was bustling like a marketplace, filled with people, and infused with the elements of mechanical technology. The neon lights weren’t obvious during the day, but the mixed electronic sounds announced the entertainment district’s lively atmosphere.
There was no doubt, this was the perfect moment to grab the audience’s attention!
But Night Star knew that the Rising Sun Theater Group couldn’t catch everyone’s eye because ordinary people couldn’t observe the effects of the Star Eclipse.
Every time those pedestrians stopped under the stage, it was just because of the group leader’s Star Eclipse effect.
Without the group leader, even under such circumstances, the Rising Sun Theater Group couldn’t stop a bunch of pedestrians.
Without an audience, the performance couldn’t start.
However, the cost of grabbing everyone’s attention was that they ceased to be themselves, even watching the performance was no longer voluntary.
Just as Night Star wondered if they were about to repeat past mistakes, the group leader spoke up.
“Singer, you’ll do the opening performance.”
“Alright.”
The singer nodded lightly and moved to the center of the stage.
Seeing this, the other group members stepped aside, retreating to the edges of the stage, clearing the way for this special singer.
“Phew…” The singer breathed out gently.
Right now, she was in her Star Eclipse form, and the crowd could not observe her through normal means, but she had a way to fix that.
Her confidence came from her [Existence Interference].
“Ah~♪”
The ethereal sound escaped from the singer’s throat, and the effect of [Existence Interference] gradually kicked in, amplifying her presence from an unobservable state to an obvious focus.
At this moment, pedestrians strolling past the stage suddenly stopped, unknowingly drawn to the singer on stage as if marveling at such a radiant presence.
“Who is she? When did she get on stage?”
“What talent is she showing? She looks like a cute girl; I bet she’s going to sing and dance.”
“Suddenly excited. Go for it, Miss!”
As more and more audience members lingered in front of the stage, Night Star was dazzled.
“Wow, so this is how it works? You can boost presence to make people notice you? I’ve learned something new!”
These people were still themselves, not in a controlled state.
So they could enjoy the singer’s performance to the fullest.
The singer smiled at the expectant audience below, fully in her element, and began to unleash the song that resonated within her.
“Ah~♬”
And just like that, the performance began.
The enchanting and beautiful voice echoed near the stage, gradually drowning out the noisy electronic synth beats, captivating the nearby audience, who expressed their awe at the song’s beauty.
The Blank Songstress’ singing talent was undeniable; wherever she went, she could capture the audience’s ears, becoming the most eye-catching presence in the area.
As the world’s songstress, she could masterfully handle various tones and sing in multiple styles.
The singer’s current singing style was completely distinct from the Blank Songstress, and coupled with the anonymity of her “singer account,” no one could link her back to the Blank Songstress.
This was the Star Eclipse Singer.
