Chapter 4: The Exile (10)
==============================
Inside the closed subspace,
Just as Fu Yetian and Lilith thought they had everything under control and were ready to bolt, an unexpected twist occurred.
With the Monster King letting out a grunt and collapsing, two young boys suddenly materialized outside the prison.
One of them shot into action like a caffeinated squirrel, and with a swing of his stick, he smacked the thick-lipped woman square in the face.
That surprise hit sent her head flying back, and just like that, she lost control of all her laser swords.
The Monster King’s little party? Disbanded!
Shiyuan knelt nearby, heartbroken, watching as his own body turned into swiss cheese.
He was a spirit born from the Monster King’s soul after four hundred years of imprisonment. Obviously, he could morph into a solid form with armor tougher than his original body but was slower in thinking—like a cute little dimwit.
Evil Shiyuan, on the other hand, was the more extreme half of the Monster King’s consciousness, locked away at the Heavenly Sword Sect for centuries and completely forgotten what being whole felt like.
Just moments ago, Shiyuan and Evil Shiyuan dove into the Monster King’s body, merging their powers and triggering most of the Monster King’s memories. But instead of a smooth reunion, they started battling it out inside the Monster King, totally dampening his strength. Facing the Number One Exile, they were definitely at a disadvantage.
Seeing his original body on the brink of demise due to an opponent’s sword, they decided to jump out and fight. If the original body died, so would they.
Turns out, dodging that b*llet was a smart move!
The two separate strands of consciousness now had their own unique traits. Evil Shiyuan was a powerhouse looking for trouble—anyone who dared cross him would experience endless vengeance. Meanwhile, Shiyuan was tougher than a two-dollar steak and perfectly happy to play the role of meat shield.
Not long after their split, their original body couldn’t handle the hopping in and out and turned into three blurry shadows that disappeared into thin air.
Two of those shadows zipped into Shiyuan and Evil Shiyuan’s bodies, while the third floated upward, quickly losing visibility.
Shiyuan blinked, then panicked, “My body? Where on earth did it go?”
Evil Shiyuan shot him a deadpan stare, “That woman killed it. Can’t you tell?”
Shiyuan leaped to his feet and yelled, “Waahh!” as he lunged at the thick-lipped woman, whose head had just turned back around.
“Creeeak, creeeak…”
That was the sound of laser swords skimming Shiyuan’s surface.
The Number One Exile, who had been so calm, suddenly jumped in surprise.
The laser sword, which could slice through the Monster King’s body like butter, couldn’t even nick this boy—not a single hair!
Her shock was far from over.
Having been stuck in the Monster King’s body and tired of being the punching bag, Evil Shiyuan felt it was high time to give her a taste of her own medicine; that last hit was just an appetizer.
As her laser swords were all drawn to Shiyuan, Evil Shiyuan charged in from an angle, ready to give her another whack on the head.
But this time, thick lips was prepared.
She reached out, intending to smack Evil Shiyuan down from a distance, but once again, she underestimated his power.
Sure, he was just a clone of the Monster King, but after four hundred years of solitary confinement, both his intellect and strength had transformed significantly—even surpassing the Monster King’s original self in some respects!
I bet the brilliant minds that decided to split the Monster King into three never saw that coming.
Her force only slowed Evil Shiyuan down for a moment, but that stick still came crashing down onto her flailing arms used for defense.
“Boom!”
She was sent flying back, crashing hard against the edge of the subspace.
Lilith hurried to fix the cracks; otherwise, another blow to the same spot could lead to a sudden collapse of the subspace and cause irreversible chaos in the main world.
Watching this twist of events from his hidden spot, Fu Yetian was thoroughly entertained.
He had originally thought that the Number One Exile was the strongest of the twelve exiles since, according to Lilith, she was the first one locked in the Forbidden Zone.
It seemed perfectly normal that the Monster King was getting owned by her.
But he never expected that the two boys split from the Monster King would turn the tables. He recognized the Evil Incarnation, while the other boy had tussled with Evil Shiyuan back when he first entered the Floating City.
Especially Evil Shiyuan; in sheer power, he might even have surpassed the Monster King of old!
He had barely been an exile for long but was somehow crushing that thick-lipped woman.
Looks like the outcome was clearer than day, and it certainly wasn’t what he’d anticipated.
Fu Yetian cherished the opportunity for this front-row seat.
Lilith, arms crossed with a smirk, leaned closer, “So, how does it feel to watch the drama unfold? It’s like being at a gladiator show!”
Fu Yetian replied, “…uh, kind of.”
“Ha! I used to be called the Space Rending Queen! And you, dear guest, are worth at least 100,000 Spirit Coins.”
“Today I’m feeling generous, how about a discount?”
Fu Yetian replied, “…uh, I’m broke. I might just owe my life.”
“Oh really?”
Lilith licked her scarlet lips, “Even though I can’t handle those two nutcases, you seem like easy prey!”
“How much…”
“Friend price, 5000 Spirit Coins. After all, I’ve been asleep for ages and am flat broke.”
Fu Yetian silently pulled out a voucher representing 5000 Spirit Coins. “This is the Spirit Coin receipt. You can cash it at any bank in major cities.”
Lilith grinned as she took the receipt. Then, blowing him a kiss, she added, “Since you’re so cooperative, if you ever need me, head to the Demon World. I’ll probably be at Selos Castle, where I was born.”
Meanwhile, the battle up ahead had begun to reach its finale.
Shiyuan served as Evil Shiyuan’s shield, continuously blocking the Number One Exile’s laser sword drawn from the sun.
Then, taking advantage of her fatigue, Evil Shiyuan raised his stick and effectively knocked her half to d*ath.
Her recovery ability was indeed impressive; if it were anyone else, their head would’ve been smashed to bits by now. Yet, she repeatedly got up like a mechanical doll, refusing to go down against the two fighting her.
But as she continued to fall, her recovery began to slow.
Finally, when her neck was forcefully broken, and her head spun around to face backward, a blinding white light enveloped her body completely.
Fu Yetian jolted in shock,
This was the very same ominous sign that had appeared when she first showed up!
Lilith screamed, “cr*p, she’s about to self-destruct!”
