In the second chapter, not a single player received a task reward, which left them a bit grumpy about the system’s harshness and cruelty. But hey, with the super long process, twists and turns in the plot, and battles that were an absolute feast for the eyes, they came away feeling like they got their money’s worth!
Now, here comes the third chapter’s task prompt, which is wildly different from the previous two: EVERYONE can participate! That’s right, as long as you’re a player in the cult of spiritual questing, it doesn’t matter your level—you can join the epic battle of the third chapter!
And guess what? The game makers have opened up the demon faction for the first time ever! While the human and monster races have been around forever, the demon race has always been a mysterious shadow lurking in the corners, never showing its face directly. Now that players can choose the demon faction, you better believe many are itching to check out what Cangyan City looks like and just what flavor the demon folks bring to the table!
It’s the kind of curiosity that just can’t be quenched. As for the human and monster races, since players weren’t too impressed with the performances in Thousand Bird City and Heavenly Sword Sect during chapters one and two, I doubt we’ll see too many players stubborn enough to stick with the humans.
On the other hand, the monster race, with the spotlight on their rise, doesn’t even need to try hard. Just the fact that they have the mysterious and mighty Extermination of Immortals organization backing them makes their odds seem a little suspiciously inflated, doesn’t it?
With the lessons learned from the previous two chapters, players are definitely not going to underestimate the monster race’s power this time around.
So, when the system announced the tasks, players quickly kicked off a BIG discussion about which faction to join. A few well-known streamers became the star topics of conversation.
Surprisingly, the hotshot Strong Brother didn’t immediately declare his allegiance! He’s the only player who’s managed to infiltrate the Extermination of Immortals—shouldn’t he be waving the flag for the monster race and rallying the troops for Cold Wind City?
When players tuned into his live stream, they discovered that Strong Brother was completely caught up in the promotion of some major matchmaking organization.
Sky Void City is one of the cities belonging to the Sky Void Academy, one of the seven great sects. Located in the northern region, it might be smaller than Heavenly Sword City and Thousand Bird City, but it still boasts an NPC population of 300,000. With a horde of players, the streets were thriving with life!
“Do you have troubles in your love life? Are you tired of your parents’ outdated matchmaking hustle? Join Reverse Immortal! You’ll get to meet many lovely ladies from the human cities, complete with profiles and even artists who’ve drawn their stunning portraits! If you fancy someone, you can meet and chat about life!”

With a grin, the energetic pup held up two enticing half-body portraits of females. An NPC lad took a glance and immediately swallowed hard—these ladies were way hotter than the neighbor Wang Cuihua that his parents keep trying to hook him up with!
“I’m joining! I’m joining!”
Strong Brother nodded approvingly at the pup. “Great! Just fill out this form, and make it detailed. This way, the ladies can get to know you a little and increase your chances of success!”
The NPC lad was bobbing his head like a little chicken.
Seeing him scribbling away furiously, Strong Brother couldn’t help but show a smile that was both fond and a bit tired.
“666, Strong Brother!”
“Seriously, you’re a genius!”
Letting out a dramatic sigh, Strong Brother said, “If I ever stop being a streamer, I’m totally gonna start a dating website. You better all come support me!”
“Go away! Don’t curse us with your singlehood!”
“Strong Brother, maybe you should solve your own love problems first?”

Just as Strong Brother was basking in the glory of his matchmaking genius, a group of official guards suddenly charged down the street. One NPC shouted, “That’s him! A scam artist trying to swindle folks! A total pyramid schemer!”
Strong Brother grabbed his pup and took off, but there was no escaping the high-level NPC guards—clank, clank, he was thrown in jail!
The audience was practically in stitches from laughter!
