**Chapter 1: Fallen Species (8)**

**Chapter 1: Fallen Species (8)**

==============================

At this moment,

Lin Nan felt as if she had stepped into a gory first-person horror game.

The walls, made of flesh and bl**d, squirmed incessantly, and the ground resembled a swamp filled with bl**d. Standing in it, she felt an unseen force trying to pull her down.

Clearly, the master of this bloody room didn’t want her to leave alive. Just after Lin Nan revealed the reason for his failed temptation, countless thick, fleshy tentacles suddenly shot out from the walls, lunging at the seemingly weak woman who didn’t appear too formidable.

She was just a bit smarter than the average bear!

To date, no one had ever escaped his clutches.

If one thought his only tactic was to tempt, they were sorely mistaken; he simply wanted to deal with his opponents in a more straightforward manner.

If that didn’t work, he’d have to shred his foes into a pile of mush—his least favorite way to hunt.

As the tentacles came from every direction, ready to wrap around her, Lin Nan took a deep breath. Even with her legs bound by the swamp, her sword danced in the air, slicing through the disgusting appendages that dared to approach.

But the severed tentacles quickly melted away into the swamp, and the remaining ones?

No sign of relenting.

If she let her guard down for even a moment, those incoming tentacles could easily impale her.

Initially, Lin Nan relied solely on her solitary sword technique to gauge her opponent’s strength. But seeing the grotesque nature of the bloody room escalating, she feared that if she stayed any longer, she’d end up drenched in dirty, grimy bl**d.

It was time to wrap things up.

“Teleport!”

Just as countless tentacles nearly wrapped her up in an embrace, she vanished from the room.

“Aah! Where did that brat go? Where did she go?!”

The tentacles twisted together only to grasp at thin air, fueling the frustration of the eager adversary.

A hoarse voice echoed angrily in the bloody chamber.

But the next moment, he suddenly felt an immense pressure in the air, as if something had clamped onto his neck.

The ceiling cracked open, revealing a giant tear, and an army of tentacles burst forth, colliding with the enormous pressure.

“Single Sword Style! Heavenly Slash!”

Lin Nan, wielding her katana, could only use her single sword skill. Yet even as an incomplete technique, her Heavenly Slash was far superior to Little Musashi’s dual-wielding.

In an instant, under the warm winter sun,

a beam of light rushed down, meeting the massive, tangled mass of flesh in a furious clash.

“Slice!”

The blinding light quite literally sliced an arm in half.

In an instant, bl**d and bits flew out like a blender gone haywire, splattering all over the neighborhood.

And that force showed no signs of waning.

The sharp blade cleaved through the writhing ceiling, splitting it into two.

For a moment, the whole street felt like it had been engulfed in a cascading waterfall of bl**d, a dark crimson tide mixed with chunks of flesh spraying from the wound.

That once-large house suddenly shrank, resembling a rapidly dehydrating peach that had just been cut open, juice spilling everywhere.

Lin Nan sheathed her katana,

disdainfully leaping out of the bl**d-soaked room.

Thank goodness her “Black Robe” had self-cleaning features. Otherwise, covered in gooey, nasty liquids, her combat potential would have taken a nosedive.

But to her surprise, the nightmare was far from over.

As the room withered, that disgusting voice resonated again, “Thinking of killing me? You’ll never succeed!”

Just after the last word, each building in the neighborhood cracked open with bloody, fleshy seams, unleashing countless monstrous tentacles.

The whole block seemed to come to life!

Lin Nan immediately soared into the sky,

realizing that the street had transformed into a series of meat-flesh dwellings. No wonder it had always been eerily quiet—no one dared to tread here.

Perhaps the previous explorers had never returned, or other guilds had lost substantial manpower in this place.

The only way to counter this flesh-strewn street was to keep a safe distance; Lin Nan narrowly avoided disaster, and others were likely toast.

Luckily, these things didn’t have limbs; those terrifying tentacles couldn’t extend too far.

Once she ascended to a decent height, the vertically pursuing meat tentacles finally lost the strength to chase, flopping down like limp noodles.

What an evil and bizarre creature this was!

How could a guild of twenty thousand just disappear, leaving only these nightmarish remains in their territory?

And all this transpired in just a few days!

Lin Nan quickly thought of Song Chuan.

He and his minions had also transformed from human to Fallen Species in no time at all.

So, Liu Fei’ang had likely fallen prey to the Exile’s temptations, ultimately turning into a Fallen Species that lured others using food.

Meanwhile, the scene of numerous tentacles stretching skyward in the Storm Guild neighborhood caught the attention of many nearby players.

“What happened to Liu Fei’ang? Is he losing it?”

“Heh, who knows? He probably hasn’t used up all that energy after swallowing almost twenty thousand people!”

“Wait, looks like someone’s up there!”

“Liu Fei’ang is chasing him!”

“Holy cr*p, are you serious? Someone’s brave enough to enter this block and still manage to escape from his jaw?”

“I’m telling you, Liu Fei’ang is too creepy. Thank goodness he can’t move; otherwise, with that massive size, he’d probably swallow the entire Sky Sword City!”

“For sure! Thank goodness we figured this out in time. If we kept sending him players like before, we’d be goners!”

As people debated,

they watched the rising tentacles start to gently descend once reaching a certain height, apparently too tired to pursue further.

Just as they thought Liu Fei’ang was powerless against the person floating above,

those tumbling tentacles suddenly twisted together tightly, compressing down like a spring and then rapidly shot up, launching like arrows at the person hovering in mid-air.

From hundreds of meters away, a sudden explosion erupted, sending pieces of flesh scattering like confetti, covering a large portion of the sky.

Even teleportation couldn’t help dodge this one!
