Chapter 8: The Finale (4)
==============================
The sky was filled with relentless black snow, a merciless life-harvesting machine. Any living creature exposed in the wilderness would be torn to shreds in an instant, turning into a mound of bloody pieces.
The self-exploding beasts trampled on the remnants of many dried-up trees, which, under the onslaught of black snow, crashed to the ground, their branches sheared off in chunks, eventually disintegrating into a pile of debris and powder after more snow drifted down.
The survivors trembled uncontrollably.
The Cold Moon Witch was practically a friendly-fire disaster!
But thankfully, the Fallen Species legion hovered in the sky, becoming the first casualties of the black snow.
When the Heavenly Sword Sect Disciples saw them turn into gore in mid-air, they quickly realized they needed to dodge, or anyone caught in the black snow would meet the same fate.
Luo Ying had already landed on the Main Peak.
With her head held high, she gazed at the cold silhouette in the sky while wielding her flickering Shadowlight Sword, batting away the encroaching black snow left and right.
Luo Ying never imagined that at such a critical moment for the Heavenly Sword Sect, they would be saved by none other than the Cold Moon Witch, whom they had always considered their enemy.
Even she, had it not been for the witch distracting Li Hanbo, likely wouldn’t have escaped the tentacle prison.
As her thoughts wandered,
The Cold Moon Witch made her move.
She held high the Black Wind Sword like a black shooting star, aiming straight for Li Hanbo.
As she rushed forward, a vortex formed around the sword’s tip, drawing in countless flakes of black snow. From a distance, it looked like a dark wheel crashing toward Li Hanbo, who was guarded by a multitude of writhing tentacles.
“Hahaha, Cold Moon Witch, if I caught you once, I can do it again!”
Li Hanbo, having devoured countless souls and currently at the peak of his powers as a Fallen Species, was not one to back down easily.
In an instant, apart from the essential tentacles brushing off black snow, nearly eighty percent of his offensive tentacles surged forward to clash with the approaching dark wheel.
The survivors witnessed an incredible and terrifying scene.
Those tentacles were actually holding their ground against the indestructible black snow! Sure, they faced a bit of wear and tear, but with time, they would turn to dust.
However, the rebirth speed of the tentacles was no joke. An endless stream of tentacles pushed forward, canceling out the black snow’s destruction and even advancing, getting to within three or four meters of the Black Wind Sword’s tip.
“Hehe, even without the boss here, you think you can win against me? How naïve!”
Li Hanbo clapped his hands, and suddenly over a dozen tentacles appeared behind the witch, engulfing her completely.
After his little experience with Luo Ying, he had great confidence in his “Lotus Throne” move.
“Crush her!”
Countless tentacles wrapped around her in an instant and squeezed intensely inward.
Luo Ying gasped; she had personally experienced this move before. Being ensnared by those slippery, sticky tentacles was worse than being outright killed.
She couldn’t get out, and attempting to use her sword techniques was utterly useless against the tentacles.
Her entire body was slowly squeezed in, feeling like she was about to explode.
“Ahhh… is the witch done for already?”
“When did Li Hanbo become so strong? Holy cr*p, this is terrifying!”
“Help! Save me!”
“The witch who could obliterate all Fallen Species in seconds is no match for him?! We… we…”
The remaining Heavenly Sword Sect Disciples’ spirits plummeted when they saw the majestic Cold Moon Witch, who had just made a stunning entrance, so quickly overwhelmed by Li Hanbo.
“No, the noble Demon Empress Frost North Snow can’t be controlled so easily! She won’t let it be that way!”
After the battles at Thousand Bird City and the East Sea Underground Palace, for some reason, Luo Ying’s faith in the Cold Moon Witch remained remarkably strong, undeterred by the current setback.
Li Hanbo continued squeezing those tentacles against the prison, showing no intention of giving her a chance to escape.
The black snow stopped.
“Hahaha! Cold Moon Witch, you’re done for!”
Seeing the witch’s signature skill fade, Li Hanbo couldn’t help but gloat.
But he didn’t let his guard down; if anything, he intensified the pressure on the cage.
And then, something bizarre happened.
The fragments of Fallen Species that had been torn apart began to reassemble into several ten-meter-tall giants. Their skeletal frames were formed from the scattered bones, riddled with holes, yet somehow capable of supporting their giant bodies.
This was undeniably terrifying.
“Ahhh… I can’t believe Li Hanbo has such tricks!”
“Holy cr*p, we just lost a ton of Fallen Species, and now they’ve resurrected!”
“Do we even have a way out anymore… urgh!”
“Master Sister, Master Sister is back!”
“Master Sister, let’s escape while they’re fighting! There might still be a chance. If we wait for Li Hanbo to realize…”
Luo Ying shot them a cold glance.
“Anyone wanting to leave can go, but from this moment onward, you shall no longer be our Heavenly Sword Sect disciples.”
“Master Sister, but… Li Hanbo has the upper hand! The witch might already be squashed into a meat patty! If we stick around, we’re next!”
“I said, anyone wanting to leave is free to go, but I, on behalf of our ancestors, revoke your Inner Door Disciple status.”
Luo Ying’s tone grew even more frigid.
“Ugh! What a trash Master Sister, you’re dragging us down to the grave with you, huh?”
“Ha, maybe the alcohol has really clouded your mind.”
“Fine, we’re leaving. After today, who knows if the Heavenly Sword Sect will even exist. Maybe we’ll be the next founders of a new sect!”
“You fools can stay here with her and get yourselves killed easy, haha!”
With the black snow having settled, dozens rushed out from behind the protective rock, cursing the Master Sister while gathering to make their descent.
Instantly, some indignant disciples retorted,
“You heartless traitors! The Master Sister came back to save us in our time of need, and you dare to…”
“The Cold Moon Witch at least helped us! If we just leave like this, it makes us look totally ungrateful!”
Luo Ying raised her hand, “Alright, no need to say more!
From now on, they’re not Heavenly Sword Sect disciples anymore.”
“Ha, Luo Ying, you’re practically dead already! We’ll just treat your words as flatulence,” the group said while walking away, casting sneers over their shoulders.
Just as they finished speaking, one of the massive Fallen Species charged straight toward them.
Before it even got close, the claws on its huge fingers exploded outward like a rain of iron needles, piercing those traitorous disciples of the Heavenly Sword Sect and leaving them ice-cold all over.
“W-why…”
They all fell to the ground, not even knowing what had hit them until their last breath.
“Because I despise traitors the most.”
A cold voice rang out from above, and people looked up, astonished.
Standing on the head of that giant Fallen Species was an exceptionally beautiful woman clad in black, complete with dark clothes, dark hair, and a dark sword.
Ah, it’s the Cold Moon Witch!
When did she get free from Li Hanbo’s grasp?
