## Chapter 9: The Arrival of Aunt Flo and the Big Monster
This monster’s body is nothing short of flawless, without an ounce of extra flab. Those pure white legs are as long and straight as can be, with skin so tender it seems like you could squeeze water out of it.
Except, the chest is a little on the small side… but hey, it’s still developing! It’ll grow, right?
To have such a body is basically the pinnacle of earthly enjoyment.
But let’s not get it twisted; when I say “have,” I mean I can embrace that body, not that I own it.
That’s just for others to enjoy to the fullest.
Wait, scratch that, enjoy to the fullest? I’m not even of age yet!
… What am I thinking about all this nonsense?
I’m a 26-year-old who is about to become a middle-aged uncle, for crying out loud!
…………
After washing up, I cleaned my cloak covered in weeds and dirt. This cloak doesn’t absorb water at all; after a couple of shakes, it’s ready to wear again. Seriously, what on earth is this thing made of?
Next, I decided to study the two powers within me. While I’m not a fan of violence, I definitely don’t want to be someone’s punching bag.
Just thinking about that Bearded Swordsman’s smug attitude gets me riled up. I silently vowed that the next time I see him, I’ll make him kneel and call me “Daddy.”
With ice-blue mist glowing in my hands, I closed my eyes and focused on my connection with this power.
I first formed a small ice spike on my palm, then tried to get it to float in the air.
So far, I’ve discovered two ways to use Frost Power: the super cold mist that can freeze someone solid, and sharp ice shards. Previously, I’d always unleashed my full power in one go. While that looks impressive in a crowd, one-on-one it’s pretty stupid and tiring.
When I was escaping, I was exhausted by switching between black smoke and ice; I was just throwing everything out there, which left me drained.
This exhaustion isn’t regular fatigue; it’s some weird mixture of physical and mental energy, both of which come from this body. Whether it’s the frost or the black smoke, they both use up that energy.
I don’t know how strong that Bearded Swordsman is, but there’s no doubt he’s among the top-tier humans. If every human were as strong as him, why would we ever fear the Abyss?
It’s the same logic when he called me a monster from the Abyss, someone who could bring disaster to the world. If the humans are making such a big fuss over me, I can’t just be weak. My physical capabilities and senses are at least on par with his, and if I ever turn back into a monster, my physical prowess would far surpass his. Compared to him, I just lack practical fighting skills and experience.
But experience aside for now, what I need to work on is mastering these two powers.
I need a more diverse range of attack methods and the slick movement abilities of a swordsman.
I’m not like those lucky protagonists in stories; I don’t have any good fortune or a mentor to train me, so I’ve got to rely on my own efforts.
Luckily, I’m used to putting in this kind of hard work.
Pushing aside my distracting thoughts, I began experimenting in various ways.
On the first day, I successfully floated an ice shard in the air.
By the second night, I could control three ice shards flying around simultaneously.
By the fourth day, I could summon ice shards anywhere within twenty meters and learned to use ice mist to turn a large area around me into a snowy wonderland.
In these few days, my mastery over frost has progressed rapidly, and my connection with that cold power has grown tighter.
The only problem bugging me is food. After eating fruits for four to five days, just the sight of them makes me want to hurl.
I considered hunting for some game, but my ability is ice, not fire; I can’t just munch on raw meat—that’s way too gruesome. Black smoke can turn into a black flame, but that doesn’t generate heat… fire-starting techniques? Let’s just say that thought bleeds into the realm of impossible.
And for some reason, my appetite has been growing larger with each passing day. On the first day, I was full after two or three fruits, but by day four, I devoured ten and still felt unsatisfied.
I’ve even tried mushrooms and other plants, but the taste…
Let’s just not go there.
Am I awakening my inner foodie or something?
Honestly, I’m starting to want to leave this forest…
I really crave something salty.
…………
Then came day six. Aunt Flo showed up.
The sun seemed to shyly hide behind the clouds that day.
I was sitting in the creek, my belly twisting in pain, mesmerized by the slow trickle of crimson flowing down.
That seems like quite a lot.
I, Chen Yuxuan, can get pregnant now.
I looked up, my face bearing the kind of tragic expression one might wear while being attacked by a thousand men.
…………
Wait, am I not a monster that crawled out of the Abyss?! Am I not meant to bring about world destruction?!
My dignity?! Where’s my dignity?!!!
What do I do now? I’m utterly clueless.
Does this world even have sanitary pads? Even if it does, where the heck would I find one…
Not to mention I can’t just soak in the creek all day; the cramps in my belly are intensifying.
My waist injury has healed up decently, so, um… Should I just wrap it up with that cloth?
I stood up, untied the cloak wrapped around my waist, and after a quick wash, wrapped it around my lower half.
It looks pretty disastrous, like a loose, baggy loincloth… but whatever, beauty isn’t the priority here.
Emerging from the creek, I did a little jump to ensure nothing would fall off, then took a few tentative steps.
And that’s when I felt something warm running down my thigh.
… This d*mn cloth doesn’t absorb anything!!!
Ahhhhh!!!!
I yanked the fabric off and tossed it to the ground, then silently trudged back to the creek to soak again.
Total meltdown.
“Thud—”
Huh? What was that sound?
The dull noise jolted me from my misery. I furrowed my brows.
“Thud—”
Another heavy thump sent ripples across the water.
What’s happening? Did the ground shake?
With a splash, I quickly got to my feet and grabbed my cloak from the riverbank before hastily putting it on.
To the west, a flock of birds took to the sky in a panic, and I could hear the sound of trees cracking.
What the heck is going on!?
Sensing danger, I quickly hid behind a tree. Then, thinking better of it, I re-emerged to grab that cursed cloth from the ground and ducked back behind the tree.
I peered cautiously toward the source of the noise, feeling as if some colossal creature was plodding this way.
Before long, a gargantuan white monster burst through the trees.
The beast stood over ten meters tall, with a massive dragon head, covered in pure white fur and walking on two legs. Its chest was encased in a bl**d-red exoskeleton, with numerous thick, twisted horns protruding from its head. Its claws were razor-sharp, looking utterly terrifying.
What on earth is this!? A white dragon-beast? Is this what those knights call the White Dragon?
That monster looks nothing like a dragon, though!
It’s more like a furry Godzilla!!!
The enormous creature… no, the huge white dragon lumbered up to the creek and lowered its head to drink. Its long, thick tongue splashed tons of water around.
I stared in sheer terror at the monster less than ten meters away and instinctively swallowed hard.
This is horrifying! If it spots me, I’m done for!
Time to sneak away…
Determined, I started backtracking. But then I accidentally stepped on a twig, which made a soft crack.
The monster jerked its head up and looked in my direction.
My heart shot up into my throat, and I froze, too scared to move.
A warm trickle ran down my thigh.
It felt a bit itchy, but I didn’t dare scratch.
