Chapter 151: Taking Medicine
The reason for my brain malfunctioning was due to sheer shock, causing intermittent short circuits in my head that lasted about two seconds, or maybe longer—but my sense of time was completely off. I even wondered if the dizziness had caused me to hallucinate.
After that, my brain finally started working again. In an instant, all kinds of possibilities flashed through my mind. My first reaction was: did something happen last night after I lost consciousness? But I quickly dismissed that thought—impossible! The timeframe was too short. If something had really happened, it wouldn’t have been so fast; it had to be something before that… Could it be Carlos?! Ahhh! How disgusting is that guy!!! I’m gonna lose it! When did this even happen? I felt nothing at all… No way, I want to k*ll him… Ugh, wait! That’s not right! He didn’t have a chance… No one could have a chance…
My hand instinctively wandered towards my secret area, and I didn’t even know what I was trying to confirm. I just tightly covered it, feeling the reassuring sensation against my palm… Oh, that’s just a sanitary pad.
So, I’m still on my period, right?! Pregnancy my foot!!!
This macho man is still pure as snow—it’s that d*mn emotionless girl who’s tricking me.
After reaching this conclusion, I gently patted my little chest, trying to soothe the “thump-thump” rings of my heart. After a long sigh, I focused my eyes back on Victoria.
She appeared calm and composed, sitting there with her eyes downcast, stirring a bowl of some strange liquid with a silver spoon… Honestly, I found it quite irritating.
“Victoria.”
“Hmm.”
“Are you really that bored?”
“Not too busy.”
“Let’s have a fight.”
“You’re not my match.”
“Tch.” I scoffed, “Let’s see about that.”
“You can stand up first.”
“I can!”
I stubbornly stuck out my neck, struggling to squirm around on the bed, trying to get off, only to give up after a short while… So tiring.
My limbs felt weak and my whole body was limp; just moving my head made me feel nauseous. I sadly realized that I seemed to have truly become fish on a chopping board, with no power to resist.
“Such a sight.”
Victoria once again brought the silver spoon to my lips. I couldn’t tell if I was too sensitive, but I felt like there was a teasing glint in her bright golden eyes.
“Take your medicine.” She said flatly.
That horrible stench wafted into my nose again, like something rotten mixed with a disgusting fishy smell rushing straight to my brain, making me cringe: “I’m not eating this. That smell—”
“Take your medicine.” Victoria emphasized, “Don’t make me repeat myself.”
But her threatening tone only ignited my rebellious spirit. I huffed and turned my head away, silently telling her: No way am I eating that!
In the next moment, Victoria stood up from her chair.
Holding the bowl with one hand, she stared down at me from above, making me uneasy, forcing me to inch my body away from the edge of the bed.
What does this woman want to do…
Suddenly, her gaze sharpened, and her hand reached out towards me!
“Ahhh—!”
I screamed in shock and reflexively raised my arm to block, but my sluggish body couldn’t keep up with my brain’s reactions; it was all too easy for Victoria to pinch my cheeks… She’s pinching my face!
I widened my eyes in disbelief.
Victoria moved quickly, and without any pause, she lunged onto the bed, lifting her pale thigh and pressing down on me. I immediately fought back, counterattacking by pinching her left cheek and pulling it, transforming her stunning beauty into a ludicrous shape. But Victoria remained unfazed, ignoring my retaliation as she pressed her entire body down. I pushed her with my left hand, kicking my legs around like a little toddler, only to be caught in her leg’s vice grip.
Victoria coiled around me like an octopus, holding me down firmly as she forced the bowl to my lips. Her grip was so tight that my mouth puffed up and couldn’t close, and I felt drool threatening to spill out; I was furious. I tried to struggle a bit, but I just didn’t have any strength to break free. So, I grabbed her hair and yanked her head back, but even then, her expression didn’t change as she rapidly poured that mysterious liquid into my mouth. An overwhelming taste hit me, and I felt like throwing up, but Victoria clamped my mouth shut, making me almost explode from anger!
“Mmmph—glug…”
Ah, I swallowed it.
She released my lips, and I immediately shouted: “You freak! You perverted woman! Ugh, ugh, ugh—!”
“Shut up.”
“You’re driving me crazy… Mmmph!!”
“Glug… pervert! This is harassment—!”
“Open your mouth.”
“Ugh! Ugh, ugh!”
“Shut up.”
“… Glug.”
Hearing the commotion, the maid tiptoed to the bedroom door, and upon seeing the scene inside, she quietly closed the door…
Before long, I drank the whole bowl of medicine.
Honestly, I had already surrendered halfway through the scuffle. It was just too miserable; the more I struggled, the more dizzy I got, and my body grew weaker, so in the end, it was practically just let her do whatever she wanted.
My mouth was both bitter and salty.
“Whew—whew—”
I lay on the bed gasping for air, my face burning like I was ripe.
Weakly turning my head, I glanced at Victoria on the other side: “As a queen, how can you do something like this…”
“A queen is also human.” Victoria walked over to the desk, placing the empty bowl down as she said.
I had messed her hair into an explosion. Her originally smooth, creamy-white face now had a blush rising on both cheeks; that look… d*mn it, I found her kind of cute.
“What exactly did you feed me? Ugh—this strange stuff…”
“Pregnancy medicine.”
“Bullcrap.”
I angrily muttered, curling back into the blanket and lying down properly.
I felt dizzy, the world spinning, and I just couldn’t stand it. I didn’t know if it was the effect of the medicine, but I suddenly felt drowsy… I had just gotten up, and now I wanted to sleep again.
“What’s happening to me…”
“You’re weak and feverish; nothing serious.” Victoria said.
“Is it that simple?”
No way it’s that easy!
Victoria approached me as she continued, “Last night, I found you collapsed at the front door of the mansion, burning hot.”
“Collapsed at the door?”
So, I made it back on my own last night?
She sat at the edge of my bed, nodding gently: “Yes. I was worried you caught a bad disease, so I called Bishop Ramsay over. He has already blessed you with a healing divine miracle.”
…A healing miracle?
Someone from the church came last night?
I was completely perplexed; I didn’t remember any of this.
“I had someone crush mouse ear herb, licorice, and white root, among other herbs. That’s what you just drank, very effective. Just rest for a day and you’ll be fine… But first, change that sanitary pad.”
Hearing that, I froze for a moment and then lowered my head, feeling my face get even hotter.
“How do you know that…”
“Stop asking me stupid questions.” Victoria looked at me calmly.
Then her tone turned stern: “Alright. Now tell me what happened on Aleck Street last night.”
Aleck Street… what happened last night… buzz—
I remembered.
I remembered the scenes from last night; I recalled what happened after my head started to hurt.
The street filled with fire, swirling black smoke and white light, the heretics I slaughtered, and that bizarre illusion.
I even remembered the feeling back then. It was a thrill of totally toying with prey, purely for the enjoyment of the slaughter; that feeling of being consumed by hatred, utterly indifferent to life… It was exactly like when I dealt with Edward before.
Then, a more terrifying truth swallowed me whole.
Last night… I ate people.
