The monster’s gigantic head suddenly began to tremble.
“Te…sa…”
A deep voice that eerily resembled Teresa’s echoed, seemingly emerging from the countless hollow spaces on the creature’s face. But if you listened closely, it felt more like whispers tangled in a profound nightmare.
Its head convulsed in front of me, twisting and producing strange utterances: “I am… Te… dead… I clearly… ah… returning to god… Teresa… sins…”
The jumbled words overlapped at a breakneck speed. In about half a second, I could only vaguely catch a couple of slightly clearer words.
Half a second later, it stopped shaking… and spoke very clearly.

I was frozen in place.
My head went “buzz—”.
A soul-shaking shockwave rushed from my heart, spreading over my entire body like ripples in water.
It can speak Abyssal Language…
The unbelievable fact instantly occupied my entire brain. Even the sharp whistling wind couldn’t bring me back to reality.

Out of the corner of my eye, a gigantic bl**d-red hand ignited with flames came crashing down straight towards my forehead with a whoosh.
I jolted, finally snapped back to reality, and quickly changed my footwork to execute Moon Step, zipping away from the spot and leaping into the air.

The massive hand slammed into the ruins, sending debris and dust flying as I built an ice platform beneath my feet. I pushed off hard, raising my right hand into the air, and with the crackling sound of compressing ice blocks, the extremely icy short scythe re-materialized in my grasp, radiating white mist.
Boom!
I veered to avoid its other hand’s slap, swinging the blade down towards the monster’s head.
“Teresa—!”
The moment I shouted, the monster abruptly raised its head.
The hollow sockets on its face suddenly lit up with a searing glow, revealing a grotesque maw filled with countless spikes as it split open, spewing a furious pillar of scarlet flames. I instinctively raised my left arm to shield my face.

The relentless bombardment filled the air, and chunks of flesh and bl**d splattered everywhere.

The monster seemed to be in pain.
It let out an earth-shattering howl, twisting its enormous, disgusting body as if hunting down its prey, bending towards Victoria.
I shouted immediately, “Victoria, put me down!”
Victoria shot me a glance and instantly understood, lowering her raised left hand.
Feeling the wind force dissipate, I quickly adjusted my position mid-air, landing firmly on the monster’s head, raising the icy short scythe high and swinging down with all my might—

It began to struggle, abandoning its pursuit of Victoria. Its colossal body soared into the sky, spinning before it began to tilt backward and glide downward.

The icy short scythe was stuck in the hollow of its face from earlier. I gripped the handle tightly, my entire body dangling in the air, the tearing pain in my arm driving me nearly mad.

I shouted, my left hand bursting with blue light as I punched into the hollow of its head.

The fully-powered Ice Mist exploded on the monster’s face, freezing half of its skull.

My delicate fists released bursts of ice-blue light as I pummeled the hollow in the monster’s head, the Ice Mist seeping inside, and I felt its body begin to tremble slightly.
It’s working!

Victoria quickly followed after me.
She seized the opportunity and swung her sword. The powerful wind blade struck the monster’s ribs, leaving a deep wound.
“Grrr—”
The monster howled in rage.
Its struggles intensified, and its grotesque hands ignited with scarlet flames, slamming toward its own head.
Oh no!
I immediately let go. As my body fell, I sprayed Ice Mist at its face again.
Its body temperature is too high…even if I can freeze it, that frost would melt away in an instant…I need to think of another way…
