I Come From the Abyss to Save Humanity Today – Chapter 312

### Chapter 100: The Storm is Coming

Discussing? Important matters to negotiate?

“What important matters?”

Margaret’s tone had a hint of impatience.

“Well…” The cavalry exchanged glances, and finally, the previous speaker opened his mouth again, “We soldiers don’t really understand the Lord Count’s thoughts, but he kept urging us that when you see Saintess, you must invite her to the camp to discuss something, which must be pretty important. So please, dear Saintess, come with us, and you’ll know once we arrive.”

“I don’t have time for that, move aside.”

“Saintess, please take this seriously! This truly concerns the safety of a million citizens in the Royal City…”

The cavalrymen remained lazily pacing about five or six meters away, showing no signs of parting. I could hear their hushed conversations all too clearly.

“She wants to leave… we can’t stop her…”

“Go report it… hurry up and report it…”

Suddenly, two people turned their beastly heads to flee towards the camp, while the rest quickly spread out, blocking off the direction in front and to the sides. About a dozen of them had effectively sealed off our path.

“What do you want?!”

I really didn’t have the patience for this, but my anger began to rise.

“Are you asking for a d*ath wish?!”

“Sorry, Miss Nun.”

The man continued shouting towards me, mistaking my outfit for that of a nun.

“We’ve already sent someone to notify the Lord Count. Please, dear Saintess, just wait a little longer, it won’t be long before he comes personally—”

“I said, I don’t have time!”

Margaret snapped back, cutting off the cavalryman. She slightly raised her right hand, a faint golden glow bursting forth at my side.

“Get out of the way!”

The beast beneath us let out a long whinny, twisting its body again. I felt a jolt and quickly grabbed the hem of Margaret’s dress.

I could hear some knights stirring in slight chaos.

“Saintess, you are a beloved child of the gods, your status so elevated. Your deeds of kindness are known throughout the world. Surely you can understand the plight of us lowly beings, and you wouldn’t make things difficult for us, right?”

“Phew—”

Margaret let out a long sigh.

The man kept rambling, his tone rising: “You are the great Saintess! Getting rough with us would be beneath your grace. Please forgive our actions, it’s just taking up a tiny bit of your time. It won’t be long…”

The golden light flickered in the Saintess’s hand and finally dimmed.

“You all—”

Margaret seemed exhausted, wanting to keep bargaining with him.

But I couldn’t wait any longer.

So annoying…

A slight cracking sound echoed beside me.

Whoosh—

In the next moment, sharp icy spikes sliced through the air at an almost imperceptible speed, instantly shooting into the ground just ahead of the cavalry, embedding deeply into the soil. The horned horses reared back, startled, lifting their front hooves.

Chilly air wafted up from the visible ends of the ice spikes, covering the surrounding half-meter of grass with frost.

“She can’t act, but I can.”

I gazed at the cavalryman, whose expression was one of shock, as the cerulean light glimmered in my palm again.

Just… so annoying…

Crunch, crunch.

White fog weaved and gathered through the air, forming several ice spikes in the sky, around five or six meters above the heads of the cavalry, their tips pointing down.

“Get lost!”

“Cough…”

That yell hurt my throat…

But it worked wonders. The cavalrymen freaked out, scrambling to escape the area covered in ice spikes, and our path was finally clear. I gave Margaret a pat on the back and held her tightly.

“Let’s go.”

Margaret clearly didn’t need much prompting. With a soft command, she urged the beast to speed through the crowd of cavalry.

“The Power of Frost Order, she is…”

“Saintess!”

“That’s just to scare us! She’s from the Holy Church, there’s no way she would actually harm us, chase after them!”

“Don’t draw your swords!”

The jumbled shouts and the beasts’ whinnies mixed with the thunderous sounds of pounding hooves behind us.

“Quick! Flank them, cut them off!”

Oh, for Pete’s sake…

I was about to summon the Frost Order to erect an ice wall to make them crash into it headfirst, when suddenly I heard someone mutter through gritted teeth, “We can’t let anything go wrong… we must not let them into the city…”

“The Queen has already fallen… we can win…”

These hushed, nearly whispered mutterings blended into the chaotic sounds of hoofbeats but I caught every word.

My raised arm suddenly froze.

What…

I shot back, “You! What are you saying?!”

What kind of joke is this…

The Queen just fell!

In the city, nearly twenty thousand guards, Victoria is so strong, how could she fall and you think you’ve won… I’ve only been gone a short while!

“Queen, what happened—”

Why won’t they let us see Victoria… Margaret wouldn’t participate in the war, if they think I’m a nun… what other reason could they have… could it really be…

Thoughts raced through my mind.

Victoria’s cold, breathtaking visage flashed before me.

“What! Happened! To her!”

In an instant, shock, rage, panic, disbelief… a whirlwind of complex emotions exploded inside me, drowning my thoughts.

I leaped off the beast with a thud, crashing into the ground, rolling a good distance in the rising dust before quickly getting back up.

“Silvya—”

Margaret shouted loudly, but I was deaf to it, unhooking Captain Gray from my back. Gripping it tightly, I swung it down, and with the sound of gears turning, a two-meter dark blade formed instantly. I swung towards the cavalry charging at us.

Clang!

A flash of cold light zipped by, the blade sang as it sliced through, and two front hooves flew out from the left front, the massive beast shrieked in agony, its enormous body collapsing to the ground.

Simultaneously, I sidestepped to avoid the flailing body of the beast, bending my knees and leaping two meters high to grab the cavalryman it had hurled into the air, slamming him down with all my weight.

Boom!

Soil and grass flew up in my face.

“Speak! Now!”

Ignoring his violent coughs and reddened face, I clenched my fist and punched him in the chest.

Crack!

The armor produced in the central workshop was solid as a rock; this punch made my arm go numb, while his armor cracked under the force, his face contorting in pain as he spat out bl**d. I swiftly removed his helmet.

The cavalrymen ahead began turning back towards me, encircling. I didn’t care; I held him by the neck of his armor, lifting him off the ground.

“Victoria! What happened to her?!” I bellowed.

“Cough, cough, cough… ptoo!”

The cavalryman kept coughing, a sinister grin spreading across his face as he suddenly spat bl**d at me. Of course, I wasn’t going to let such a cheap trick get to me. I tilted my head to dodge easily, my anger flaring even more.

“d*mn you…”

“You have the guts… k*ll me!”

The cavalryman glared at me with bloodshot eyes, suddenly roaring in a raspy voice: “A nun killing a soldier! … How amusing… haha, come on!”

I returned his smile.

“I’m not a nun.”

With a fierce punch, I hurled my fist towards his face.

“Silvya!”

Thud!

The punch landed squarely on his nose, caving his face in near-perfectly, his nose bone shattered, tears mixed with bl**d gushing out, his body stiffening abruptly with eyes rolling back.

“Put him down—”

“Saintess! You’re breaking the rules!”

“Is the Holy Church this unreasonable? How could such a barbaric person even enter the Saintess Class!”

“I told you…”

I dropped the already unconscious cavalryman and wiped the bl**d off my fist on the loose nun’s robe, looking up at the cavalrymen circling around me.

“I’m not even a nun!”

In the next moment, a blast of frosty mist exploded from my feet, rapidly spreading out.

Since they were all close behind…

None of them get to leave!

“Ah—”

“Uh…”

“Hehe…”

Those cavalrymen were blown off their beasts by the icy air, white frost quickly covering their armor, eyebrows, and hair. They collapsed, limbs stiffening, unable to rise, gasping in fear.

This time, I held back a little.

The freezing temperature was at its maximum; otherwise, they’d turn into ice statues in an instant.

I walked towards one of them.

“Now. Can you speak properly?”

“Miss Silvya, stop!”

Margaret finally turned back, shouting at me from outside the ice fog: “What’s wrong with you?!”

“Are you trying to k*ll them or what!”

So what…

Just a bunch of bastards…

In the next moment, golden light fell from the sky.

What!

Almost reflexively, I stepped forward with Moon Step, my figure darting out of the ice fog, retreating to a distance of over twenty meters. I stared in disbelief at Margaret.

She wants to attack me…

But I quickly understood that I had misunderstood.

That beam of golden light dispelled the ice fog, specks of green light danced from the halo, rushing towards the fallen cavalry and horned horses.

It’s a healing miracle…

“Why save them…”

They’re the ones who wanted to harm Victoria…

Margaret rode her handsome horned beast, stopping just a short distance in front of me, shouting: “Forget those people, just come up!”

“But—”

“We’re heading back to the city immediately, don’t waste any more time!”

…That makes sense.

I turned to glance at the cavalrymen who couldn’t get up for a while.

Arguing with those people was pointless. Victoria wasn’t here; I needed to get back to the Royal City ASAP…

With that thought, I suppressed the anger still simmering inside me and jogged over to Margaret while holding Captain Gray.

“Let’s go!”

Once I was back on the beast, I held Captain Gray at my side, unable to help but urge her.

Margaret said nothing, just tightened her grip on the beast, racing towards the north wall of the city at maximum speed.

I clutched her clothing, growing increasingly uneasy as my heart raced.

I hope everything’s fine…

It has to be fine…

“…Acting out?”

After a while, I vaguely heard Margaret seemingly asking me something, snapping back to attention, “What?”

“Why did you act out?”

She reiterated her question, her voice sounding a bit airy: “You managed to hold back against those church knights who helped Nero… so why did you act against them?”

“What’s wrong with you…”

What’s wrong with me?

They hurt Victoria…

“There might be trouble in the city.”

“Are you worried about Her Majesty the Queen?”

I shook my head lightly.

“She… won’t be in trouble.”

Not long after, the towering city walls loomed close.

We stopped before the side gate of the north wall. It was eerily quiet here, the gates tightly shut, and not a single guard in sight. Margaret raised her head, shouting towards the wall: “Saint Margaret has important matters to enter the city, please open the gates!”

After waiting a moment with no response.

My heart began to sink.
