I Come From the Abyss to Save Humanity Today – Chapter 489

**Chapter 115: Peaceful and Quiet (One)**

With infantry leading the charge and cavalry bringing up the rear, the Faith Organization stood boldly in the center, breaking through the Sin Barrier. Holy Lances and Fireballs exchanged fire in the sky as a thousand Church Knights charged forth, causing even the distant mountains to tremble.

For the heretics, such a turn of events was perhaps unexpected.

Initially, they thought that the surviving knights captured by the Third Knights Order would willingly surrender, stripped bare and whipped bloody, with hardly a soul rising to resist.

Once a person bows their head, they seldom lift it again. Even if there were a few stubborn ones refusing to submit, they’d be easy to eliminate. They believed that by slaughtering the unwilling, the remaining would fall in line—this had worked in the past, with no blunders. But this time was different.

From the moment Commander Nick shouted his battle cry, the Fog Hidden lurking in the back smelled trouble, but hesitated to issue a command for change. Instead, they chose to wait and see, but just like that, events spiraled in an unexpected direction.

The knights, once seen as mere meat shields, launched themselves toward the back, one after another, reckless and undeterred. Hundreds of captives suddenly created chaos in the front ranks, halting the advance, while the flanking troops spread out in the wilderness, unable to regroup. The First Knights Order came roaring in like thunder, and in that instant, the Fog Hidden’s heart sank.

Frenzied, dangerous shouts erupted from the high ground. The sounds of slaughter mixed with screams echoed, and everyone sensed the atmosphere thick with malice. Even the fiercest heretics were taken aback, their scalps tingling as they realized that such roars signified true d*ath or glory. In these moments, every tooth and strand of hair from their enemies could turn into lethal weapons.

The crowds surged across the wilderness like a masterfully thrust sword, golden light flashing overhead. The distance between the two sides shrank rapidly as knights dove into the fray, trampling over the corpses of their fallen brethren, eyes glinting with fury, colliding head-on with the heretics—

A wave of bl**d surged forth!

“Yaaaahhhhh—”

bl**d, shadows, armor, shields, and blades all fused into a chaotic mass just dozens of meters away. In the swirling tide of slaughter, I found myself squeezed into the center, shoulder to shoulder with my comrades.

In my line of sight, Isaac, clad in shining armor, leaped up to swing his sword and detonate an incoming Fireball, propelling himself from over ten meters above like a cannonball into the front lines, his fists flying like the angry winds, turning several heretics into mush instantly.

“O great Deity, as you have said, bestow your grace upon us! The holy light shines on me and casts judgment upon the wicked… Faith Organization, prepare!”

The young bishop clasped his hands in prayer, brilliant white light erupting around him. The golden light from countless followers gathered, transforming into a flurry of falling white feathers. Dozens of Faith Organization members began singing hymns amidst the battlefield, and the young bishop, bathed in the halo and feathers, floated above the ground, solemnly issuing commands while pointing toward the heretics in the distance—

“Nefileda White Wing.”

The dazzling white light silently unfurled from the sky, coalescing into blazing white orbs that rained down, brightening the entire wilderness as feathers, like snowflakes, drifted down from above the heretics’ ranks. With the hum of a divine miracle, the world momentarily lost its color.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

A series of faint yet intense sounds erupted from the battlefield, the white orbs above transforming into countless beams of radiant light, slicing through chest and abdomen, severing heads and arms. The cries of the heretics echoed as over a hundred were crushed by this terrifying assault, sealed to the ground forever.

Bang—

As the white light faded, an Ice Pillar shot up from beneath me. I leaped out of the crowd, using my Moon Step to propel myself upwards, a chilling wind screeching over the knights’ heads as I dove into the heretics’ lines. I landed forcefully, kicking one of them aside, and with Captain Gray spinning wildly in my hands, a bloody storm erupted around me.

“Twenty-four, twenty-five… thirty of them…”

The charging heretics crumpled like paper before the fearsome scythe, shredded into pieces, bl**d and guts splattering all over me. Infernal Fire ignited around me, drenching the back of the Pope Knight’s cloak in bl**d red. The twisted, horrifying faces reflecting in my eyes made my heart race. I looked at them and tore through them with my scythe, the stench of bl**d only making my inner rage blaze hotter.

d*mn it…

“Gate of Truth——!!”

Bang, bang, bang, bang!!!

Frost exploded from my left palm, charging forward like a dragon from the sea, swiftly engulfing twenty or so figures, freezing them in their various poses, turning them into ice sculptures on the battlefield.

Behind me, knights empowered by the Light Barrier jumped into the fray like tigers, the machines of war rampaging across the wilderness, Holy Lances and Fireballs colliding with screams and shouts as bl**d and fire churned the grassy ground, mud flying everywhere, swords and long blades clashing.

From a bird’s eye view, the First Knights Order formed an indomitable blade-like array, tearing a gap through the heretics’ front. Then, with an unstoppable force, they surged into the crowd.

“Killlllll—!”

In an instant, the knights had breached the enemy’s front lines. Safiros, riding a Horned Horse, had bl**d-red eyes as he led his sixteen squadrons into a fierce clash with the encircled heretics!

Fireballs rained down, crashing against the Light Barrier and creating rippling waves before shattering. Safiros didn’t bat an eye as he cleaved off a heretic’s head, warm bl**d splattering over him—not a sticky, hot sensation, but the kind of bl**d he craved. Only the bl**d of demons could quench the fiery rage in his heart.

“Warriors, charge with me! Slaughter these sc*m—”

Even if it leads to d*ath, let’s take out a few more bastards!

The battle escalated, the surging tide of conflict turning the ground into a sea of bl**d, countless knights falling in their struggle. Yet more heretics were butchered by fierce sword strokes. Just then, the war horn sounded again from the backline, prompting the knights to shift formations. The center split in two, a thousand infantryers let loose a tsunami of roars as they surged toward the flanks of the enemy lines.

The heretics flanking the sides were still trying to regroup when the knights slashed through their ranks, creating a gap. Then, more than six hundred cavalry charged from the back, galloping through the split in the crowds, crashing into the frontline like a heavy hammer, a massive meat-grinding machine, their scythes shimmering as they harvested lives from the enemy.

The blades danced across the vast wilderness, and I shook the bl**d off my scythe, covered in disgusting gore. The enemies before me finally thinned out. Though the sounds of battle echoed around me, a glance revealed that apart from the knights’ allies, most were just lying there, lifeless.

Pfft—

I dealt a final blow to a fallen enemy, yet the bubbling hatred in my heart remained. As I lifted my head, there were only a few heretics left resisting, surrounded by knights brandishing swords as they advanced.

In the distance, fierce battles continued as cavalry advanced like an unstoppable wave, nearly cutting through the heretic ranks. Just as they were about to break through to the city walls, a massive fireball suddenly hurtled down from above—

Boom!

The explosion sent a scorching gale across the cavalry, launching Horned Horse figures into the air. In that fiery moment, a burly figure charged in from the side, enveloped in blazing infernal fire, crashing headlong into the cavalry like a rampaging bull.

In the next instant, thick fog rose once more from the wilderness.
