Chapter 4: No-Fly Zone
Once they entered the unfamiliar environment, the plane’s flight path began to change dramatically, but the pilot remained surprisingly calm.
The headquarters had just sent word that once they entered the Star Eclipse Zone, they were to hover in the air for a bit to avoid triggering any dangerous rules that could lead to disaster—like, you know, fiery doom.
Given the circumstances, it was best to wait for the Night Watchers dispatched by HQ to solve the release of the Star Eclipses. Landing without authority in this situation could be incredibly risky.
Just a moment ago, as they crossed into the zone, communication signals had been abruptly cut off.
This Star Eclipse Zone seemed to have a signal-jamming effect, and they had already lost contact with headquarters.
The pilot could only follow HQ’s orders and maneuver the plane without doing anything reckless.
The headquarters had the best operational capacity and could handle Star Eclipse incidents faster than many cities could blink.
For now, they had to trust the Night Watchers assigned to the task.
Sitting by the window, Night Lan pressed her face against the glass, still observing the strange environment outside.
If this had been the old her, she would have been trembling in fear at a time like this.
But now? Not so much.
Maybe she had just been through too much.
As long as no visually dangerous situation was unfolding right in front of her, she didn’t feel that much fear.
Curiosity replaced apprehension.
She’d originally thought the capital had a solid security environment. Who would’ve guessed that a Star Eclipse would show up too? And not just any Eclipse—this one was an Ultra Star Eclipse! Talk about an entrance, even outshining the previous theater troupe member!
Night Lan glanced at Night Feather beside her, who was also studying the view outside with a serious expression on her face.
“Looks like the enemy has arrived and dares to stake claim to this sky! They clearly don’t recognize the authority of this esteemed Sovereign of Darkness!”
Night Feather was clearly not pleased; perhaps this Eclipse had stomped on a trope she really liked or something.
With that fierce demeanor, if she went out, she’d probably beat that Eclipse to a pulp—she was radiating confidence!
Maybe it was her middle-schooler vibes combined with the power of stars that kept her so unfazed.
In comparison to the other newbies’ anxiety, Night Feather’s attitude was refreshingly upbeat.
This was what they called a middle-school girl, huh?
So powerful!
“Lady Night Feather, should we go check it out?”
“No need. If the enemy dares to appear before me, I shall resolve this at the quickest possible speed. Acting without caution will only lead to chaos among the common folks, and I don’t want to be unjustly blamed.”
Night Lan blinked, quickly understanding her intent.
Ah, so she was worried about getting scolded by the higher-ups, which was why she was obediently staying put.
At her core, she didn’t want to trouble anyone else.
Even if she desperately wanted to prove her strength, she wouldn’t flout the rules. She was such a good kid!
Once you got used to her way of speaking, you’d end up liking her pretty quickly.
Peering out at the bizarre environment, Night Lan decided to play the rookie role and let HQ’s big shots handle it.
She didn’t want any attention.
If she made a move here, she’d definitely mess up the original plan.
She had just come to see the Leader at HQ, and after getting the wind-up on things, she’d head back to Yun Chang City without stirring up any troublesome relationships.
So, staying under the radar was the best choice.
Just as Night Lan resolved to keep her head down and daydream, the sky around them suddenly transformed, a wave of danger swept in, like needles piercing everyone’s hearts, and their bodies tensed up immediately.
Everyone in the plane sensed the palpable aura of d*ath—the kind of premonition that screamed “danger!”
A shadow appeared in the flight path, emanating an eerie aura. It was the Star Eclipse in its true form.
“My sky… allows no one to trespass!”
The voice of the Eclipse boomed inside the plane, causing a wave of panic.
Oh boy, this Eclipse was about to go on the offensive.
Night Lan felt completely exasperated.
What on Earth was this Eclipse babbling about?
His sky?
Not allowing anyone to intrude?
Did he think the sky belonged to him or something? That was just outrageous!
It looked like his obsession from becoming an Eclipse was all about the sky.
His possessiveness over the sky made him use the Eclipse Zone to dominate this area, and the moment any living thing set foot in it, it was like a declaration of war against a lord.
Hence, he’d eliminate anyone venturing into his Eclipse Zone to protect his territory.
Once Night Lan figured this out, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
Of course, all obsessions from becoming an Eclipse were this bizarre.
Strange is one thing, but how utterly juvenile!
At least the theater troupe only sought to perform; if it weren’t for the Eclipse pollution, they wouldn’t be bothering anyone else.
But this Ultra Star Eclipse had a wildly aggressive approach, with his territoriality making him intolerant of anyone touching his stuff—it was just nonsensical!
Such uncontrolled, emotionally volatile Eclipses were on the Night Watchers’ execution list, right at the top.
Overzealous obsessions could turn Eclipses into incredibly dangerous entities, deserving a good smackdown.
Back to reality.
This wasn’t the time for deep thoughts! If the Night Watchers from HQ didn’t show up soon, this plane would be toast!
Night Lan had no intention of experiencing a plunge from the sky.
Just then, she sensed several powerful presences approaching—it seemed the Night Watchers from HQ were on their way.
Given the scale, they would at least be the Sunlight Night Watchers.
Recognizing this, Night Lan sighed in relief and prepared to watch the show.
Outside, it was just as Night Lan sensed; a whole group of Night Watchers was soaring up into the air, either flying themselves or utilizing flying gear. The scene was nothing short of spectacular.
These Night Watchers were all seasoned fighters, juniors being formidable, and the Sunlights were more than capable of briefly holding their own against supernovas.
But just as they prepared to attack the Eclipse embodiment, it suddenly burst forth with a powerful force.
“Sky! Hear my command! Drive these invaders away!”
A wave of energy rapidly spread out.
The Night Watchers approaching the Eclipse felt an overwhelming pressure and dropped like flies.
The plane, too, succumbed to this immense force, plummeting rapidly.
[No-Fly Zone].
This was one of the effects of the Star Eclipse Zone!
This sudden shift caught all the Night Watchers completely off guard.
All flying objects suddenly came crashing down under the rules set by the Ultra Star Eclipse, spiraling out of control.
The plane dropped faster and faster, everything inside descending into chaos.
“Are we going to crash?!”
“Yikes, yikes, yikes!”
With the seatbelt secured, Night Lan didn’t roll around inside; she just felt dizzy.
“Ugh~ my head’s spinning, I guess we really are going down…?”
At this point, the Night Watchers weren’t doing much either.
Whoever could do anything, please hurry and save them!
