### Chapter 7: Finally Arrived
Well, since there’s someone watching over me, it’s time to head back to the capital.
Night Lan almost forgot that the person she was supposed to meet was the leader of the entire Night Watcher organization.
He knows she’s an Extraordinary Star Holder, so he must also know that her secrets can’t see the light of day.
Surely, the leader would help her keep those secrets shrouded in mystery, sparing her from the clutches of scary people.
So, what’s there to worry about?
In the capital, she had protection in plain sight as well.
Thinking about it this way, Night Lan felt a whole lot more relaxed.
“Well then, I’m off! Night Star can stay here and keep you company. If I’m gone too long, it might cause a stir and I’d rather avoid that.”
With a wave to Lianhua and the others, Night Lan strutted out of the theater like a cheerful penguin.
Night Star, watching “herself” walk away, slowly felt the tightening anxiety begin to ease.
Suddenly, a thought struck her.
On the plane, Night Feather, who sat next to Night Lan, must’ve noticed her sudden disappearance.
Would she be worried?
That middle school girl’s mind is a riddle wrapped in a mystery. It’s probably best not to try and guess what she’s thinking and just wait for the chance to talk to her later.
Of course, that assumes they run into each other again.
Unlike the other Night Watchers at headquarters who had to go through proper training, Night Lan didn’t need any fancy lessons; she just had to blend in.
Which meant, she really couldn’t stick with those other folks.
After meeting with the leader, they’d probably set her up somewhere else to rest. Who knows if she’ll bump into the middle school girl again?
Fate will decide.

A quick shift in perspective.
On a street in the capital.
Night Lan appeared in some corner, and lo and behold, this was the very spot where the plane almost met a tragic fate.
Although the plane was small—definitely smaller than your typical aircraft—if it had crashed in the city, it would’ve caused a big ol’ disaster.
But looking around, it seemed the plane didn’t fall at all; the Night Watchers must have swooped in and saved the day.
Seriously, what a waste of her worries! It looks like the headquarters’ Night Watchers actually know a thing or two; even aviation disasters don’t stand a chance against them!
Now, she should be able to report back to headquarters, right?
But the problem is…
“Which way to the headquarters?”
Night Lan pulled out her phone device, ready to check how to get there.
The Night Watchers’ special gadget could auto-generate a route to the base, so no worries about getting lost!
Though Night Lan wasn’t all that familiar with the capital, she could follow the directions and make her way to headquarters.
“Hmm…”
Night Lan pondered, glancing at the route to headquarters and then at the distance.
“Whoa, that’s far! I have to cross half the city?!”
Night Lan was utterly shocked.
This drop-off spot is way off! That distance is ridiculous; even a car ride would take forever.
She looked up and saw the hovering cars zooming by; the designated flight paths seemed a bit congested and the travel time for a long-distance trek would likely be even longer.
As for using “Godspeed B” to rush over…
Nah, that’s a hard pass.
She didn’t want to end up sprawled on the road, getting picked up by some weird stranger.
Better just stick to a good, old-fashioned car ride.
At that moment, a few passersby strolled by.
“Can you believe it? There was a plane that almost crashed right here! If it weren’t for the tech support, this area could’ve turned into a wasteland!”
“Right? What a scare! It’s crazy that aircraft accidents can still happen these days. Just shows our technology isn’t foolproof.”
“The plane got taken to the airport. Should we go check it out?”
“Let’s not. I heard they set up a perimeter, so regular folks can’t get close. No watching the drama for us.”
“Fair point, guess we’ll skip it then.”
Night Lan, trying to blend into the background, found herself lost in thought as she watched their backs disappear.
“The airport…”
Night Lan glanced at her phone again and noticed the airport wasn’t too far from her spot—maybe she could just head directly over.
The Night Watchers were probably still waiting there, and the leader’s escort should be around as well. Should she go check it out?
After a few seconds of thought, she resolved to head out right now.
Nothing left to fear!

At the airport entrance in the capital.
A young woman waited quietly.
With jet-black hair and purplish-red eyes, her striking features made her look stunning, just barely in her twenties.
Her aura screamed elite; she appeared like a frosty beauty from the workplace, making it hard for anyone to approach her.
Passersby cast curious glances her way, wondering just who was special enough to earn her smile while she waited.
Some thought it was downright criminal to make a beauty like her wait.
Many men would’ve gladly stepped in for the person she was waiting for, and would’ve probably shown up an hour early just to impress her.
But too bad, that was just wishful thinking.
From her vibe alone, it was clear she was from a different league.
Indeed, she was a Night Watcher, part-time secretary to the leader, responsible for assisting in various tasks—an important job.
Her name was Ji Yun, and she was secretly sent to the airport to meet some VIP as per the leader’s instructions.
However, the other trainees had been whisked back to headquarters, and the important person she was waiting for still hadn’t shown up.
Just recently, the leader sent word that it might be a longer wait.
Ji Yun didn’t mind.
Even though it had been nearly two hours, she remained perfectly calm.
She was just curious about what kind of person could make the highest leader of the Night Watchers wait so long.
Even the rulers of nations shouldn’t be that late… right?
So, it seemed the leader was expecting someone rather important.
Even though the description the leader gave her about the target was… well, let’s say it differed a bit from what she had imagined.
Yes, it was definitely different.
Because the target was described as having black hair and blue eyes, about four and a half feet tall, and unbearably cute—a little loli.
When she received that intel, Ji Yun was thoroughly puzzled.
A little loli was scheduled to be met by the leader? Is she perhaps the leader’s secret love child?
Okay, just kidding! Knowing the leader’s impeccable reputation, there’s no way that could be true.

But clearly, the leader knew what was going on.
Just then, Ji Yun spotted an unusual figure.
She noticed a petite girl sneaking around outside the airport, peeking from behind a column, as if she desperately wanted someone to notice her.
Strangely enough, no one paid attention to this sneaky little girl—not even the airport patrols.
Now that was odd.
When Ji Yun caught sight of the girl’s basic features, she could practically confirm it.
That sneaky little loli was indeed the one she had been waiting for.
