Chapter 10: The Headquarters Tour
Night Lan strode out of the leader’s office, her head tilting downward as she muttered to herself.
“Hmm…”
Since the leader had said what he needed to, that must mean she could go back now, right?
After just arriving, going back so soon seemed a bit odd, didn’t it?
Then suddenly, Night Lan recalled what the leader had said earlier.
He said something about not asking about her relationship with the Rising Sun Theater Group…
Wait, does that mean the leader suspects something fishy between her and the theater group?!
“Pfffff…”
Night Lan clutched her head and crouched on the floor, looking utterly dejected.
“Yeah, right… When the theater group leader appeared, I conveniently disappeared. It’s natural to assume I must have something to do with him. Plus, my safe return makes it even more obvious I’m linked to them.”
The more she thought about it, the scarier it became.
If only her worry was limited to that; would the leader suspect she’s the same person as the audience performer in the rising sun theater group?
Nah, surely not?
Definitely not, right?
If discovered, she’d be doomed!
No one must ever know Night Lan and the audience performer are the same person! Even if her association with the observer from the Rising Sun Theater Group gets exposed, she has to pass it off as friendship!
Sure, that’s exactly what’s happening—she’s just the observer’s friend, period!
Though, secretly, she was just trying to distract herself.
If she ever encounters the theater group leader outside, she’ll make him perform some play, like pretending they don’t know each other!
But thinking it through, nothing good will come of it—she’ll just draw more attention to herself, which is such a bother.
Eventually, Night Lan settled on simply avoiding the problem.
“Good, the leader seems like a great guy, probably won’t look into this…”
Relieved, Night Lan relaxed.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps approaching caught her attention. She looked up to find Ji Yun, the leader’s secretary, who brought her back from the airport.
“The leader asked me to arrange your accommodations. Anything you require?”
“Mmm, no, really, all I need is a place to rest.”
Night Lan replied nonchalantly, having changed her mind.
She’d originally thought about returning to Yun Chang City immediately after speaking with the leader.
But how long had it been?
Returning tomorrow could work, since there was no rush.
“If that’s the case, let me help with that,” Ji Yun said.
“Alright.”
Night Lan nodded and followed Ji Yun toward their destination. But instead of moving, Ji Yun grabbed her shoulder.
“Eh? Again?”
Night Lan quickly figured out what was next.
The next second, everything spun, and then she suddenly found herself in an unfamiliar setting.
“Ugh… this disorientation…”
“Sorry, it’s the quickest and safest method.”
Ji Yun looked apologetic.
Shaking her head to clear the dizziness, Night Lan finally recovered.
“No problem, got everything. Is this where I stay?”
Looking around, she realized the private room she was in was indeed a room for personal use.
“Yes, it certainly is. Enjoy yourself as you wish.”
Ji Yun handed over her contact information.
“Here’s my number. If you encounter any problems, feel free to call.”
“Okay, thanks.”
“Just take care and get some rest.”
With a flash, Ji Yun disappeared.
Curious but unbothered by the sudden vanishing act, Night Lan explored more.
The room was immaculate and minimalist, resembling a classic resting area.
To personalize it, well, she’d have to fix that later.
Tonight, however, it was a place to sleep.
Once darkness fell, this space would truly shine.
She planned to bring Night Star from the theater to share it with.
“Mmm~ A nice plan.”
Unfortunately, it was still light out. Tiredness was premature.
Decisive once more, Night Lan decided to take stock of her surroundings.
Having arrived, doing nothing was a poor choice. At least visiting the place seemed essential.
“Done.”
Night Lan muttered aloud, opening the door to peek out.
The corridor had plenty of doors at intervals. Occupants were evident despite the spacious layout.
Gently, she stepped into the hallway, planning a casual walkthrough.
Unexpectedly, nearby a door swung open. Out walked a silver-haired girl.
Instantly noticing Night Lan, the girl tilted her head.
“Lan?”
“Hey? Feather?”
Feather smiled.
“Fate is intriguing; our re-meeting means something’s definitely connecting us. You seem perfectly fine.”
“Ah.”
Night Lan was momentarily speechless.
Her vanishing at Feather’s side seemed highly suspicious.
However, the girl showed zero concern. Perhaps she viewed Night Lan’s disappearance casually.
After all, Feather might be into strange stuff—commonplace for quirky brains like hers.
So, Feather likely wouldn’t question anything.
“Um, Feather, I aim to explore. Care to join?”
“As it happens, I intended the same tour as baseline action.”
“Huh… Why not? Let’s team up.”
“Fine.”
Thus, the pair began. From residential levels to elevator transport, their visit escalated.
People significantly multiplied here.
Employees wandered busily, suggesting constant activity.
Night Lan observed with keen interest as details unfolded.
Everything felt different from Yun Chang City. People here worked tirelessly, never at ease.
A chance conversation revealed talk of “Ultra Star Eclipses”.
“Those eclipses in the sky prevented flying. Many senior powers plummeted down when approaching, absurd!”
“True, but stranger, another eclipse emerged.”
“Remember, ‘Viewer Etiquette’ is part of the Rising Sun Theater, why show unexpectedly?”
“Maybe old grudge? Maybe, wiping out stars leaves deep wounds.”
“What could be other causes?”
“Who knows?”
Night Lan shifted focus, lowering her presence subtly.
